    Hello Makkale… we have mistakenly left the grocery bill at weekly price so multiply it by 4. For example TIER 1: If the grocery per week is 100 then the monthly cost is 400$. Thank you all. Also, for maid expense it depends on which country helper you are hiring. for example indian (punjabi, tamil, malayali), indonesian, philipino, srilankan. depends on the country the cost differes starting from minimum $500 to $1000. apart from maid salary , we are liable to pay tax for having helper to govt. if we are not a PR/citizen, we will pay miminum $300 every month as tax to government for having a helper.

      Also missed the school bus fees which around 300 to 400 dollars. Income tax paid is missed out. Wifi connection and tv subscription missed out.

      Omg you guys so lucky to pay tax liable normally here as you have to pay taxes per person monthly minimum 1400$ depends on your income

      @suryaram3177 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is the same 300 SGD for PR as well (levy for maid). Only for citizens it’s 60SGD

      The cost of living in Singapore is certainly high, however the standard of living is low…..people still live in flats and travel in public transport, school children still pay school fees for state school education. Healthcare is not affordable. Born and brought up in Singapore , but will never live there ever….

    We had been living in Singapore since 2008.. My husband is about to retire.. we had lived in a rented accommodation . Then bought our own condo with a single salary.. Back then in 2012 , the interest rates were not high, stamp duty was less for non PRs .. It was easy to buy our own house. Now its almost impossible for Non- Prs. getting PR is almost impossible. Instead of paying rent we could pay EMI for housing loan and could reap capital gains which is tax- free in Sg. Not possible now. Car is not affordable with a single salary.. You will understand when your family grows / parents come to stay with you.. They will not be able to travel in public transport . Cabs are not very cheap. Your parents cannot live with you in the long run due to expensive health care. Yes we love singapore for safety. But spending should be curtailed to continue the life-style. Travel to India & the ticket costs are to be included. Morover the lay-offs are sudden .. need to be aware of that too. Best wishes..

      I left singapore around 2011, it was NOT this expensive. Yes you are right. I live in US now, every now and then I used to think that I made a wrong decision by moving out of singapore. But after watching this cost of living expense, I feel I live in a better place and my decision was right. I was not married at that time. Looks like we have to give away 90% earning in singapore and pretty much no saving is my understanding. Here in US I am able to save around 30%

    • @indusriram1532
      @indusriram1532 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@babuganesh2000 In US tax rates are higher which is a negative .. in sg its less .. Opportunities are more for the next gen whatever field they wish to pursue in the long run in US than in sg. At present situation is bad everywhere due to inflation which is not in our hands. Hard work and good education is the only strength. All the best .Sg is a small country but they need to protect their citizens as well .. they are doing their best to balance..

    2020 ஜனவரியில் சகலை பையன் வீட்டுக்கு சிங்கப்பூர் வந்தேன். 11 நாள் அங்கே சுற்றினோம். எங்க இருவருக்கும் சென்னையிலிருந்து விமான செலவோடு சுமார் 700 டாலர் செலவானது.(சாப்பாடு தங்குமிடம் இல்லாமல்.)
    ஒவ்வொரு பொழுதுபோக்கு இடத்திலும் நுழைவுக் கட்டணம்தான் அதிக செலவு. எல்லா நாளுமே பொது போக்குவரத்தைத்தான் பயன்படுத்தினோம். இருவருக்கும் அதற்கான செலவு மட்டுமே மொத்தம் 60 டாலர் ஆனது.

    Thankyou for this informational video. I live in London and has been thinking of moving elsewhere due to the high inflation and taxes. Singapore and Dubai are the options in my mind and then came across this video. Thanks for taking the time to explain all aspects especially the recent rental increases, which looks similar to what we have here in London. The rental prices actually looks more than what we pay here in London and this does mean the overall salary need to be pretty high to maintain a similar standard of living. Can dependants work in Singapore ? If not then with one persons salary, it looks like there wont be much savings especially as school expenses are high

    • @sowmyamothi
      @sowmyamothi  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sandeep.. honestly Dubai will be a better option than Singapore.. especially with the growing rental market I don’t know there will be any growth personally and professionally few years from now. You earn here you spend here that’s the concept for now. Thankyou so much for your comment. All the best

      I liked Singapore as it has a good connected public transport system and also climate wise it's better than Dubai isn't it. In Dubai I think it's mandatory to own a car which I personally don't prefer. House rents seems to be high in Dubai as well but yeah I didn't expect Singapore rentals to be so much expensive.. 😔

    வணக்கம் Bro &Sis. நான் 2001-2005 சிங்கப்பூரில் இருந்தேன். PR வாங்கினேன் ஆனால் இந்தியா return ஆகி விட்டேன்.
    அப்போ என் salary 2600. அதில் 2bed room hdb house(ஓரு ரூம் பூட்டி இருக்கும்) மாஸ்டர் bed room மட்டும் use பண்ணலாம் rent 800 😅. மற்ற செலவுகள் 800 என்று 2600 இல் 1000 சேமிப்போம். அந்த நேரம் 1 S$ 23 ₹ இருக்கும். இப்போ rent எங்கயோ போய்விட்டது. 😮
    😢 சிங்கை வாழ்க்கையை விட்டு விட்டு வந்தது கொஞ்சம் depress ஆக இருக்கும். அதனால் சிங்கை பற்றிய விடியோ கூட அதிகம் பார்ப்பதில்லை.
    நீங்க விடியோ கடைசியில் like பண்ண சொல்லி கேட்டது நல்லா இருந்துச்சு. இயந்திரதனமா இல்லாம ஒரு friend கிட்ட கேக்குற மாதிரி இருந்துச்சு. அதனாலேயே டிவி மற்றும் மொபைல் ரெண்டுலயும் Subscribe பண்ணிட்டேன். 🎉😊

    Tier 1 and tier 2 should have the same groceries amount… how does the housing rental define the amount you cook and eat. Doesn’t make sense

    • @sowmyamothi
      @sowmyamothi  ปีที่แล้ว

      No we dint mention that housing and grocery are related to each other. I think you need to listen , tier 1 is for ppl who buy everything in without a budget whereas tier 2 is for ppl who wanted to shrink their budget to limited groceries. And also we mentioned this is just an idea so you can switch between tier 1 or 2 or 3 for each sections. So I think your comment also doesn’t make sense 🙏🏻

    This living style doesn’t come anywhere closer to even a normal
    Middle class lifestyle in India . For this enormous cost the standard and quality of things and service must be highly compromised . Most of the people even earning good salary live luge very miserly and stingily compared to other countries .

    • @sowmyamothi
      @sowmyamothi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Everyone's experience and perception of living standards can differ based on their personal circumstances and priorities. It's not uncommon for individuals to adopt a more frugal approach to managing expenses in a high-cost city like Singapore, regardless of their salary level. Different people have different spending habits and financial priorities.
      Ultimately, the decision to live in a particular country depends on individual preferences, opportunities, and lifestyle choices. It's essential to consider multiple factors before making comparisons between different countries and their cost of living.
