First, like the hat (if you care to share brand info/other details). I too had a 71 Cheyenne from 1982 - 1984; had to sell it because the military sent me overseas. Sure wish I had that truck back, even though the gas mileage was terrible...it was a dependable work horse.
I had a 71 Cheyenne and it was the same baby blue but with white on the sides between the trim mouldings and the white cabtop. Beautiful truck. Also the red and amber side indicator lights had chrome trimming on them Chrome letters on woodgrain tailgate panel. Grille had the black ring and blued bow tie. Interior door panels were blue vinyl with decorative designs the A/C unit was mounted beneath the glove box.., I sure do miss it 😢 Thanks for the video 👍
When you ask about the year the windshield mirror was the first thing I was looking for. I have a 1968 for the last 28 years I restored. I had a 1972 3/4 ton 4wd Cheyenne 35 years ago and let it get away, and still regret it.
Good video 🙌. You left out the Disc Brakes sticker that was on the upper driver side corner of the tailgate only on 71s And another interesting detail about the rear view mirror is that 71 has an embossed mounting spot for the mirror that 67 to 70s don’t have-- the mounting spot is smooth like a 72 and the mirror fit to it -- 71s have a raised area that the mirror mounts to
Enjoyed the video. Another difference between a 72 and all others, is the 72 was the first year to have a return fuel line from the carburetor to tank. The 72s had a one year only fuel cap, if you put regular cap on a 72 you will smell fuel, ask me how I know ! Thanks for the video.
no one ever puts the black stripe back on a 1971 though so best way to tell is the mirror is bolted to the roof on a 1971 and a 71 would have the more simple armrest
Im very very anti chevy anything and everything, but that was gtreat explaing the diff bwtwn those years, my dad had either a 71 or 72 and it was a great truck ,we since got smart and got fords lol
Great looking truck , I miss my 71 GMC . Thanks for sharing .
Thanks a lot. Thanks for checking out my videos.
Really nice truck! Not too overdone, clean and solid. I've had my 71 C10 for 30 years and it does have the black stripe on the grill. Fun Trivia!

One of my favorite C10 videos ever!!! I have a 72 C20 and i knew about the RVM, but not the screw in the door. Thanks!
Thank you so much! Thanks for watching!
I have a 1971C 10 Cheyenne super long box
They are great. Thanks for watching.
Nice round fender . The GNC grilles didn't break , they wisely stayed with a steel grille until 1973 .
Thanks for watching

I have a short bed stepside 72. The only thing I didn't know was the stripe around the grille shell on the 71. Pretty neat.
Thanks for watching.

Also true. Thanks for watching!
71 has wishbone rearend 72 has leafspring.
No. I had another ‘72 that didn’t have leafs. Only reason this one has them is because they ordered it with them.
My 71 also had a plastic blue insert in the bowtie on the grill. I have seen them solid. But mine was a custom deluxe not a cst.
It had the same bowtie mine has when it was new. Thanks for watching.
so what year would you classify a pu with a 72 cab on a 71 chassis?
72 has the rear view mirror attached to the windshield
