The five questions for reference :) 1. Does it *compete* with something else in *my wardrobe*? 2. Does it suit *both* my *aesthetic and body type*? 3. Does this piece make dressing well *easier*? 4. What is the expected *cost per wear*? 5. When would I *actually* wear it? (Think of recent examples)
Would you consider doing a video on how to start knitting? Tips/tricks/recommendations for a total beginner? I'm thinking of taking it up this winter but no idea where to start, and I love the sweaters you knitted!
Can definitely consider this! :) I'm more of a beginner too - just starting to attempt some more complicated patterns but can definitely look at doing a vlog where I share the basics to get started. I think it's so rewarding to knit. I highly recommend checking out Kutovakika on YT, her content is amazing.
I really appreciate your content! I've always had trouble deciding what to purchase and during these last years I've become more and more aware of the importance of only purchasing something I will *really* wear, to avoid over-consumption. Your tips are both useful and simple at the same time, and I truly needed someone to make this kind of content: how to find clothes you love and want to wear for years, instead of haul after haul of new clothes every season. So thank you💖
Thanks for sharing Helen, the cost per wear is sth interesting to consider ❤. Since this year I am also using a wishlist, after decluttering my closet. I am asking myself also the question if I am going to wear the clothes on every occasion. Does it suits me and my body type are also valueble questions. A belt and a new jacket for autumn are also on my wishlist. But it might take some months before I am really buying the pieces. I also noticed that when I am feeling more emotional, I am more tempted to buy. Which is really a challenge. So this questions are very helpful 🙂
Thanks for another great video! My issue is buying the same type of clothes that I love, so thinking about whether the new item would compete with my existing stuff 😅 Btw, I also love an off the shoulder top and really like your navy one because it looks very flattering and the material looks substantial. Please can I ask where that one is from? Thanks!
It's great to hear about the considerations you have before you go ahead and buy things. I like those Everlane jeans and I think you and I are similar in size and shape, so I'm tempted to take a look at those. I love the pants too. About the knitting, I also knit. It's a great passtime and you can make all sorts of really beautiful things.
Oh I love that you also knit! I've gotten into it this year and I've been addicted. It's a great way to be away from the screen sometimes and it's just so satisfying to see the progress row after row :)
@@DailyHelenJ FYI I did order those jeans but they're too big on me. I do find online tricky. They are really nice jeans though and I might get a size smaller, 25. I think those might fit the way I like and still not be too tight. Oh and they don't charge any postage even though I'm in Canada, which is unusual.
Sweater No. 18 is in my knitting queue, too, though I think I'm planning to make it in some gray yarn I have in my stash. I have to swatch to see if it will work.. I fell in love with the texture when I saw it on Instagram. It'll be lovely in that color.
@@QuynhAnhNguyen-vr4ew hey yes I have some uniqlo tops and her scotch and soda tshirt (creatures of the sea) + my jeans are Lee but the same shapes as her picks, but still my overall style is a bit more colorful than Helens so a lot less grey and more brown and blue as neutrals :) (I'm also a pale ginger so I tend to fit low to medium contrast better than Helens high contrast)
@@QuynhAnhNguyen-vr4ew oh and also the Sezane Leontine! but my budget isnt as great as hers so although id want tje designer bags, for the life of me I cannot afford them as a student
Hahaha!! It is a struggle. I am quite slow at knitting - so it might take me 1-2 months to do a sweater. Usually it might just be 20-30 minutes a night and then I'll have some longer blocks on the weekend.
I think it might be worth waiting for a sale with BF around the corner. I do believe W-Concept will be having a big sale then. I find this jacket to be really really lovely - nice structure, good versatile weight and just very chic. I find it very comfy to wear :)
Love your choices. But I think you could of went a couple inches longer on your trousers. Especially the first pair. If your short, the two inches will make a huge difference in how you look and make your legs look so much longer. I love to knit also and it's fun to actually design the sweaters you love and in the color of your choice. Ty for a great video.
Thank you Mary :) I do LOVE a long trouser for elongating the leg. I often wear flats/sandals so with those shoes, these pants will actually sit at full length. When I wear a small heel, they come up a little shorter. I find this length to be the most versatile so I can wear the pant no matter what shoe I go for. But potentially a few pairs of longer pants could be very chic
I think you look better wearing 1” to 1.5” wide belts. 2” or more width doesn’t look nice with your trouser preference (would look good with a line midi or pencil midi skirt).

Love how you explain your wishlist and relate to the tips, very helpful and makes the content even more relevant to your listeners, well done, Helen
Oh I'm so glad they were helpful :) Thank you so so much xx
That Denim skirt is just perfect, Helen. I appreciate how well considered your purchases are.
it's refreshing to see you talk about possible new purchases that are not the same as anyone else's... cheers to that!
I love that denim skirt! The green tank looks nicer on you than the beige (in my humble opinion!) Can't wait to see your sweater!!

Hello,
Love your videos!
where is the grey cropped blazer from with the pockets flaps? I couldn't find it in the links.

I do love the texture of Sweater no.18. I hope it works out with your yarn :)
I live for your weekly TH-cam videos!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 always so helpful and insightful.
Aw thank you, I really appreciate it !! xx
I wish these brands had my size available.
Other than that I can just watch to appreciate your style and thoughtfulness :(
I have the alpha60 in black. It’s a great design 😊
Really appreciate your thoughtful styling ideas! You always made me rethink how to style more strategically. ❤❤❤
Thank you Emily!! :) I'm so glad
Love your knitwear idea! What’s the pattern called and what’s the yarn? 😊
The knitwear pattern is my favourite things sweater no18 - the yarn is Bellissimo 100% merino wool in colour 216 :) Thank you xx
I swear everything you purchase is something I just put on my wishlist! Our styles are so similar! that skirt is to die for 😭
Same as me 😅 just curious- do you own any pieces that Helen has?

Aww you guys!! :)) So so happy that you found something you liked on my channel. We must share a lot of the same taste and style hehe.
You know it's going to be a best best Monday whenever Helen post's🥺💗💫
Aww hope you're having the loveliest week and for always watching - I really appreciate it xx
This was very helpful, great tips :)
loved this video!
Where is your off shoulder navy top from?
From Kookai :) Found it in the sale section a few months back but they might still have them as I saw the top again recently xx
@@DailyHelenJ Thank you. What size did you get?
Where do you find time to knit and make videos? You’re so productive (vs. me laying in bed….)

Hi Helen! Just wondering if the Dunst jacket is worth the price for you? Is it comfortable to wear?
