One Sci Fi series that I don’t see on one’s lists, but is amazing is We are Legion (We are Bob), the Bobiverse series by Dennis Taylor. It’s incredible, please read it and review!
Another banger! Keep it up! I’m personally so excited to start the sun eater series! I’m a bit newer to reading sci-fi, but I’ve read the entire ‘the expanse’ series and LOVED it! I also really really loved ready player one
@@Smitty1423 Have you read Armada, also by Ernest Cline? I really enjoyed that too. I actually listened to the audio book narrated by Wil Wheaton. Good stuff!
loved your video!! I always try to get people to read my favourite sci fi and favourite book in general of all time because I never see anyone even knowing that book. And it’s Metro 2033. this one got me into reading as an adult and it really will forever be my favourite, just the atmosphere and bleakness are so heavy and because of this book I always get a little uneasy travelling by the subway or metro. The main character really goes through quite heavy stuff as well and the uncertainty if he could make it through the next chellange at all just really hit the nail. it’s more post apocalyptic than your 'typical' sci fi but I really hope that at least one person may find it interesting and gives it a try :)
Great video. I have Empire of silence on my kindle but haven't gotten to it yet. I need to get to it because I just keep hearing great things about the series.
You popped up in my recommended and I’m glad you did cause you’re dope! You gotta read red rising that shit is amazing. Also for future videos you should level your camera for more aesthetically pleasing framing. Luckily you have that table behind you so you can see if it’s level or not. If you’re shooting on your phone eventually try to switch to a DSLR (or mirrorless) camera and a tripod since nowadays most tripods have a level built in. I can’t wait to see more content from you my guy!
Sci-Fi is my second favorite genre as well. I just finished Dark Matter a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing. I'm in the process of acquiring the Sun Eater series (I have books 1, 4, 5, and 6, I prefer hardcover books and I'm having a hard time finding books 2 and 3 at a reasonable price) but I'm really excited to read it. I haven't read any of the other books on your list but Project Hail Mary is definitely on my TBR. My personal favorite Sci-Fi is Ender's Game.
Dude I don't do Tiktok but love your TH-cam videos. You have the SAME reading taste and in some cases top 5s as me. Looking forward to more of this content!
I listened to Project Hail Mary on Audio and was blown away. It is definitely in the conversation as my favorite book ever. I lean more toward scifi so I'm going to be giving some of these a try.
I've read all the books on your list but your #1. Looking forward to checking it out. If you liked ready player one, you should check out Player of Games by Ian M Banks. It's one of The Culture series. A must read for anyone into gaming. Also, if you liked Project Hail Mary, check out We Are Legion, We Are Bob; excellent sci-fi ride.
I bought a used copy of Project Hail Mary about a year ago and I think I’m finally going to get to it after I finish my current book. I’m more of a horror novel kinda guy, but I’m also waiting to read Dunr and I’ve been looking pretty hard at some Blake Crouch books. Glad to see you recommended some of the things on my TBR! Can’t wait to see the new setup for your videos! Later gator 🐊
My top 5: 1. Firestar (first book of the Firestar Trilogy) 2. Time Enough for Love 3. Dune 4. Foundation by Asimov 5. Starship Troopers Honorable mention: The Martian
Ready Player 1!!!! I LOVED it, my first sci fi book, read it last summer. It put me into a reading slump, in a good way, I didn't think there'd be another book as good as that.
I started watching you on tiktok, and because of you i started the Cosmere (tysm for this, finished WoR last week), now i want some sci-fi and i find again your video, so i already know the 5 books are bangers, tysm and keep the good work!
Golden Son and Light Bringer are my favorite books in the Red Rising saga. I also love Morning Star, but the later books in the series are truly ALL masterpieces. Definitely recommend picking the series back up at some point!
Project Hail Mary is my #1 Sci-fi book. Its so damn good I've read it so many times since its came out. Definitely recommend audiobook for this one its such a good audiobook! You are right Rocky is such a great character.
Great list, my friend. I still need to read Project Hail Mary. I've heard nothing but great things. I hope to start Demon in White soon, and im on Iron Gold with the Red Rising series. -Cheers 🍻🤘🏼
This vid just popped in my feed. Great list. Ive read all but RP1 & agree with your thoughts. Like others here, Id recommend The Expanse & after that, if you enjoy mind blowing scifi concepts, check out Alastair Reynolds. Start him with Eversion & then roll right into Revelation Space. Also, Hyperion will be an instant all timer.
I think you might be the first person I’ve found who loved Morning Star the most of the Red Rising Saga. Golden Son was a bit too fast paced for me - I couldn’t recover from what happened before something else happened. Morning Star was my Goldilocks book - it was juuuuussssst right.
🙏 You’re giving me life right now. Dark Matter is another favorite of mine! Recursion is AH-mazing and the Wayward Pines trilogy is a great sci fi/horror blend. It’s hard to pick a favorite from Crouch’s work - it’s all unique and good in its own right.
I loved Project Hail Mary and Dune, but haven’t read the others on your list (yet). I’d highly recommend checking out Ender’s Game as an easy read to mix up the pace. It’s a quick and easy read that really surprised me with its depth and themes.
I just started getting into audio books and so far I have listened to Level Five narrated by Macleod Andrews and Quantum Radio narrated by Ray Porter, both were awesome! Looking forward to listening to Level Six and checking out more of A.G. Riddle books.
Good picks although I haven't read Project Hail Mary or The Demon in White. My picks would probably look something like this. 5. The Dark Forest - Cixin Liu 4. Wool - Hugh Howey 3. Dune - Frank Herbert 2. Hyperion - Dan Simmons 1. The Shrinking Man - Richard Matheson
Gonna have to check these out! Just got into reading and I decided to go with the Witcher series. On book 4 right now and I’m loving the series so far.
I have not see your vidoes before. The algorithm knows ive watched enough similar videos of other people. But the way you spoke got me to pay attention. I hadn't even heard of the Sun Eater series. ( So many great scifi books in the world) So I start looking up the series. And start planning my next purchase. So thanks.
I highly recommend The Expanse series if you haven't read it, it has beautiful characters and a plot that will make you want to keep reading forever! Also, you made me want to go out and get Demon in White immediately!😊
I have a great video idea for you! How about recommending books that are perfect for getting into different genres? And thank you for all the recommendations, they are amazing!
Another great video! Of your top 5 (6), I’ve read 3 and completely agree with what you said about them (PHM, MS and Dune) - Dark Matter and Ready Player One have been on my shelf for so long but I haven’t managed to get to them yet as while I do tend to enjoy sci fi once I push myself to read them, I don’t generally think of myself as a sci fi fan. Never heard of the Sun Eater series but will definitely add it to my TBR now! Very different to those you’ve mentioned but some of my favourite sci fi books are The Kaiju Preservation Society (bit of a silly, low stakes, hilarious book but so bloody good!) and Jurassic Park which got me back into reading a couple years ago after not touching a book in so long. I had always loved the movies but was a bit hesitant to read the book thinking it wouldn’t stack up with the nostalgia I have for the movies - I worried about nothing though, the book still managed to be better! 😂
You need to read the three body problem and it’s sequels if you enjoyed dune. It has a lot of the same creative juice in a way, it also is super plot based, and the characters aren’t as bad as people think they are. Book one is like a mystery kind of thing, but books two and three will blow your mind,
I just finished Project Hail Mary! 5 stars for me. My favorite book of the year so far! I absolutely loved Rocky and tbe humor that is seen at moments during the book.
@@LaceyGrace-k8w It amuses me to believe that Andy Wier thought up the "me burgers" concept then invented a great story to deliver them in the last 20 pages. 2 of Wier's 3 books are in my top 20 of all time, Project Hail Mary and The Martian. I enjoyed Artemis too, but it is a clear step down from the other two. Can't wait to read Wier's fourth offering. Hope he publishes it soon.
Ive started reading Sci Fi for the first time recently (used to exclusively read fantasy before) and my first sci fi book was Hyperion and man it blew me away! Chapter 1 is the best opening chapter I've read of a book period. Highly recommend. About to finish book 2 then I'm gonna check out Empire of Silence
Project Hail Mary was my first 5 star sci-fi of the year I loved it so much! My top 5 includes Illuminae and 4 different Adrian Tchaikovsky books, his sci-fi stuff just hits different, I’d highly recommend The Doors of Eden and Children of Time if you haven’t checked him out yet!
I typically just read Fantasy... but I'm delving into Sci-Fi now, and have started Empire of Silence... I'm absolutely and utterly hooked on Suneater. I'm being converted into a sci-fi fan..
Your list honorable mention - Dune - I've read 5. Morning Star - haven't read 4. Ready Player One - haven't read 3. Dark Matter - I've read 2. Project Hail Mary - I've read 1. Demon in White - Haven't read 5 of my favorites in no particular order Dune - Frank Herbert Hyperion - Dan Simmons Children of Time - Adrian Tchaikovsky Starship Troopers - Robert A Heinlein Anathem - Neal Stephenson I want to read all of the books in your list that I haven't read yet. Keep trucking brother
I'm about 75% into Anathem right now, slow start but I'm really enjoying it, and I just ordered the first 2 Hyperion books so hopefully I'll jump into those in August. Also I've heard good things about Children of Time, so on my next haul I may check that out...Good stuff
I don’t read a lot of sci-fi, but I strongly recommend checking out the Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. I think it’s my favorite sci-fi I’ve ever read. After that, The Ministry of Time, Acorna the Unicorn girl by Ann McCaffery, and Peralandra by C.S. Lewis. These are the ones that have stuck with me out of the few I’ve read.
Hmmmmmm recommendations..... Don't know about a top 5 but some series I have enjoyed are; Enders Game and the Shadow sequels The Three Body Problem trilogy It's not the best but a fun little sci-fi fantasy mix, Off Armageddon Reef An absolute Banger is, The Knife of Never Letting Go. Also a trilogy but I think the first book is the best for reasons. Also, it's one of those plots that you could give to 10 good authors and get 10 AMAZING stories. It's really good stuff. Sphere from the og Michael Chrichton is a classic. The Destroyermen series from Taylor Anderson is pretty good. One of the only alternate universe stories I can stand. It's gone on a little too long but it's fun.
Oh you gotta continue red rising, the follow-up trilogy is incredible. You should also check out The Stars my Destination by Alfred Bester. Written in 1956 and it was waaay ahead of its time. It blew my mind. it Super short book. I may be wrong but I think it was the first we saw a main character that was actually not a good guy, the all-american hero. The kind of book you have to read multiple times.
I was gonna call you out if you had of left off Ready Player One. The audio book is dope. Will Wheaton did a fantastic job narrating. You should try reading Thrawn book one
If you enjoy some humor with your Sci fi I recommend Dennis E. Taylor’s series Bobiverse. It’s definitely a lighter read than the ones you have listed but still worth reading.
The algorithm is algorithming. I followed you on TikTok for months and months, and TH-cam finally brought me here.

One Sci Fi series that I don’t see on one’s lists, but is amazing is We are Legion (We are Bob), the Bobiverse series by Dennis Taylor. It’s incredible, please read it and review!
I’ll have to take a look!
Another banger! Keep it up!
I’m personally so excited to start the sun eater series! I’m a bit newer to reading sci-fi, but I’ve read the entire ‘the expanse’ series and LOVED it!
I also really really loved ready player one
You’ll love this one for sure
Yassss! Ready Player One is so fun! As an 80s kid, I really enjoyed the pop culturec references in it in addition to the great story.
Such a fun read!
Will look into it
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to check out Project Hail Mary.
You should and let me know your thoughts!
Sci fi fantasy blends!! I love anything that challenges the boundaries of genre. Thank you!!
So damn good and Sun Eater does it so welllll
Great video. I have Empire of silence on my kindle but haven't gotten to it yet. I need to get to it because I just keep hearing great things about the series.
Let’s goooo
You popped up in my recommended and I’m glad you did cause you’re dope! You gotta read red rising that shit is amazing. Also for future videos you should level your camera for more aesthetically pleasing framing. Luckily you have that table behind you so you can see if it’s level or not. If you’re shooting on your phone eventually try to switch to a DSLR (or mirrorless) camera and a tripod since nowadays most tripods have a level built in. I can’t wait to see more content from you my guy!
Thank you so much for the recs! Hopefully my next setup is so much better haha
great to see you on youtube! really enjoyed your tiktoks when I used the app, looking forward to what comes next:)
Let’s goooo me too!
Great list! Haven't heard of the Sun Eater series, adding it to the list.
Nice you gotta come
Back and let me know what you think!
I still need to check out Enders Game!
You are giving me new books to try yay! 🖤 also I’m getting Dune soon! I’m excited😅
That’s so dope!
Dude I don't do Tiktok but love your TH-cam videos. You have the SAME reading taste and in some cases top 5s as me. Looking forward to more of this content!
Incredible!
I listened to Project Hail Mary on Audio and was blown away. It is definitely in the conversation as my favorite book ever. I lean more toward scifi so I'm going to be giving some of these a try.
Book was incredible
I've read all the books on your list but your #1. Looking forward to checking it out. If you liked ready player one, you should check out Player of Games by Ian M Banks. It's one of The Culture series. A must read for anyone into gaming. Also, if you liked Project Hail Mary, check out We Are Legion, We Are Bob; excellent sci-fi ride.
I will look into it!
Dope and later!!
My top 5:
1. Firestar (first book of the Firestar Trilogy)
2. Time Enough for Love
3. Dune
4. Foundation by Asimov
5. Starship Troopers
Honorable mention: The Martian
Ready Player 1!!!! I LOVED it, my first sci fi book, read it last summer. It put me into a reading slump, in a good way, I didn't think there'd be another book as good as that.
That book is so amazing
I started watching you on tiktok, and because of you i started the Cosmere (tysm for this, finished WoR last week), now i want some sci-fi and i find again your video, so i already know the 5 books are bangers, tysm and keep the good work!
@@vkenzo90 ahh let’s gooo this is so dope!
@@Smitty1423 hugs from Brasil bro!!! Keep it up!
Golden Son and Light Bringer are my favorite books in the Red Rising saga. I also love Morning Star, but the later books in the series are truly ALL masterpieces. Definitely recommend picking the series back up at some point!
It’s on the list to pick back up for sure
A Sci-Fi list! My recommendations for the genre are The Expanse series and if you don’t have plans for the future, The Horus Heresy.
That series is on my list for sure!
@Smitty1423 the lore and worldbuilding of Warhammer 40K is phenomenal, I've heard great things about the novels as well 💯.
-Cheers 🍻🤘🏼
Cheers!
Can’t wait for you to read Disquiet Gods. That was one of the wildest reading experiences ever
Really ready for it
This vid just popped in my feed.
Will look into the Expanse and Hyperion!
Okay, when you move upstairs, we’re going to need that bookshelf tour!
I think you might be the first person I’ve found who loved Morning Star the most of the Red Rising Saga. Golden Son was a bit too fast paced for me - I couldn’t recover from what happened before something else happened. Morning Star was my Goldilocks book - it was juuuuussssst right.
Got you
🙏 You’re giving me life right now.
Will check it out!
I hope you continue on the RR series! It gets soooooo much better
But ya I agree on your thoughts on the author 🤭
@BOOKFE1N I'm confused did pierce do something or say something?
Great seeing you on TH-cam! Keep it up, can't wait to see the new video's comming.
Got you! Will be posting more on here for sure
I just started getting into audio books and so far I have listened to Level Five narrated by Macleod Andrews and Quantum Radio narrated by Ray Porter, both were awesome! Looking forward to listening to Level Six and checking out more of A.G. Riddle books.
I’ll have to look into these for sure!
Good picks although I haven't read Project Hail Mary or The Demon in White. My picks would probably look something like this.
5. The Dark Forest - Cixin Liu
4. Wool - Hugh Howey
3. Dune - Frank Herbert
2. Hyperion - Dan Simmons
1. The Shrinking Man - Richard Matheson
Heard great things about some of the books on this list!
Gonna have to check these out! Just got into reading and I decided to go with the Witcher series. On book 4 right now and I’m loving the series so far.
That's dope! I have to check that out for sure!
I found your channel and loved it! I don’t use TikTok. And there are only 2 videos! I hope you continue doing videos about the books you like!
@@beamilz i will! Glad you love the channel!
Great video, also reading the sun eater series, excited to get to demon in white!
@@TheBlazegeo let me know when you do!!
I have not see your vidoes before. The algorithm knows ive watched enough similar videos of other people. But the way you spoke got me to pay attention. I hadn't even heard of the Sun Eater series. ( So many great scifi books in the world) So I start looking up the series. And start planning my next purchase. So thanks.
This is amazing! Hope you enjoy Sun Eater!
You saying you liked reading about different timelines reminded me of the first book in the Licanius trilogy. Cool seeing books take that perspective
I read the first book in that series need to read the other ones
I highly recommend The Expanse series if you haven't read it, it has beautiful characters and a plot that will make you want to keep reading forever! Also, you made me want to go out and get Demon in White immediately!😊
Will check it out for sure
Haven’t read the series but watched the tv show, which if you endure the first season or so, is incredible
I have a great video idea for you! How about recommending books that are perfect for getting into different genres? And thank you for all the recommendations, they are amazing!
That’s a great idea!
Appreciate that and I will check that out!
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Kingdoms of Death. That’s one I could not put down and comes close to Demon in White in quality for me.
This is so crazy if true.
You need to read the three body problem and it’s sequels if you enjoyed dune. It has a lot of the same creative juice in a way, it also is super plot based, and the characters aren’t as bad as people think they are. Book one is like a mystery kind of thing, but books two and three will blow your mind,
I have it on my list for sure!
I just finished Project Hail Mary! 5 stars for me. My favorite book of the year so far! I absolutely loved Rocky and tbe humor that is seen at moments during the book.
Such a damn good book
@@LaceyGrace-k8w It amuses me to believe that Andy Wier thought up the "me burgers" concept then invented a great story to deliver them in the last 20 pages.
2 of Wier's 3 books are in my top 20 of all time, Project Hail Mary and The Martian.
I enjoyed Artemis too, but it is a clear step down from the other two.
Can't wait to read Wier's fourth offering. Hope he publishes it soon.
Great video! You should do a favorite authors next I’d like to see your list
I def will! Great idea for sure
I just caught up on Sun Eater a few weeks ago and Demon In White has launched up my all time favorite books list. Such a great series!
Book is really incredible
My list. Top 6 bc two are tied
T-5. These Burning Stars
T-5. Velocity Weapon
4. The Dark Forest
3. Recursion
2. Ready Player One
1. Project Hail Mary
Fire
The Dark Forest is up there for me too. That book haunts me.
I'm all in! I agree with this list so much.
Amazing!!
I’m def going to check it out
Project Hail Mary was my first 5 star sci-fi of the year I loved it so much! My top 5 includes Illuminae and 4 different Adrian Tchaikovsky books, his sci-fi stuff just hits different, I’d highly recommend The Doors of Eden and Children of Time if you haven’t checked him out yet!
I gotta check out Children of time for sure
I've never been interested in 'ready player one', but after this video, I need to read it. Thank you!
You should check it out!
I love the Red Rising series and Dark Matter as well. If you haven’t read The Culture you should check those books out.
Haven’t heard of that! Will check it out though
I typically just read Fantasy... but I'm delving into Sci-Fi now, and have started Empire of Silence... I'm absolutely and utterly hooked on Suneater. I'm being converted into a sci-fi fan..
@@chrisgoods yooo that’s so lit and that’s how I was too!
Your list
honorable mention - Dune - I've read
5. Morning Star - haven't read
4. Ready Player One - haven't read
3. Dark Matter - I've read
2. Project Hail Mary - I've read
1. Demon in White - Haven't read
5 of my favorites in no particular order
Dune - Frank Herbert
Hyperion - Dan Simmons
Children of Time - Adrian Tchaikovsky
Starship Troopers - Robert A Heinlein
Anathem - Neal Stephenson
I want to read all of the books in your list that I haven't read yet.
Keep trucking brother
Love this list! I have a few on mine as well that I need to check out
I'm about 75% into Anathem right now, slow start but I'm really enjoying it, and I just ordered the first 2 Hyperion books so hopefully I'll jump into those in August. Also I've heard good things about Children of Time, so on my next haul I may check that out...Good stuff
We have such similar taste, loving your videos!
Appreciate that!
So good! Loved the video ❤️
So glad you loved it!
Thanks for giving me your list!
I loved the ready player one movie. It was so much fun, is it really a lesser version of book? Damn how good is the book
Yes lessserrrrr version for sure if you loved the movie you will love the book
Hmmmmmm recommendations..... Don't know about a top 5 but some series I have enjoyed are;
Enders Game and the Shadow sequels
The Three Body Problem trilogy
It's not the best but a fun little sci-fi fantasy mix, Off Armageddon Reef
An absolute Banger is, The Knife of Never Letting Go.
Thanks for the recs!!
Top 5 sci fi
1. Speaker for the Dead
2. Earth Afire
3. Skyward
4. Rondevous with Rama
5. Dune
You gave me some good recs here
@@Smitty1423 thanks man I appreciate your book reviews.
I absolutely loved Dark Matter as well ! It’s a top favorite for sure!
So peak!
You had me at Dark Matter!!! ❤
That’s fire
Oh you gotta continue red rising, the follow-up trilogy is incredible. You should also check out The Stars my Destination by Alfred Bester. Written in 1956 and it was waaay ahead of its time. It blew my mind. it Super short book. I may be wrong but I think it was the first we saw a main character that was actually not a good guy, the all-american hero. The kind of book you have to read multiple times.
Thanks for the rec!
I was gonna call you out if you had of left off Ready Player One. The audio book is dope. Will Wheaton did a fantastic job narrating. You should try reading Thrawn book one
Ready player one is just too incredible
If you enjoy some humor with your Sci fi I recommend Dennis E. Taylor’s series Bobiverse. It’s definitely a lighter read than the ones you have listed but still worth reading.
Will look into it
