What were the 2 duds before you read One Dark Window?

I'm interested in your opinion about reading books in series. Do you ever read out of order - or rather, do you read one from a series? Appreciate your channel - Love some of the same ones you do - Thanks for your enthusiasm.

Hero of Ages was the craziest end of a saga I've ever read. It's so perfect, everything ties up so perfectly, even the sad things such as deaths of characters fall into place in such a satisfying way.. i don't think i will ever find another book or trilogy like that

I never cry with books and I've read unbelievably sad stories, but movies will sometimes get me. The music, the cinematorgraphy, seeing and hearing the emotions. Much more impactful for me. Although for the 1st time ever, a video really got me , ghost of tsushima got way too real

Hermione is such a good shout. The trio is nothing without her. Her having to mindwipe her muggle parents so she could fight in a conflict she would probably die in? So they don't remember that they ever had a daughter? That is not given enough credit, it's a huge sacrifice.

I’m on Well of Ascension right now (first time) and your rave about Hero of Ages just made me SO HYPE. But man you GOT TO read the second Red Rising trilogy. First 200 pages of Dark Age is back and forth perspectives of a battle between Darrow and another… main character. TRUST

Just finished Greenbone Saga and started Faithful and the Fallen now, highly recommend if you haven't got to it yet! Of course I suggest Joe Abercrombie's First Law series above all!

Love love love your recommendations, and I’ve been putting off getting into Brandon Sanderson’s world, but now I am really ready to dive in for 2025. Now. You are in for a treat because I don’t think you’ve yet to discover Michael J Sullivan. Oh baby! His books are fantasy and FANtastic! Start with Riyria Revelations then move on to Riyria Chronicles. The duo in these series will become your most favorite team EVER. He has a couple other series as well, but when I found Riyria I think I flew through all of those in less than a month! Then I was sad, book hangover, I wanted more and more Riyria. In addition, the narrator he uses, Tim Gerard Reynolds, is possibly in the top 3 of all time in audible books IMHO. Hail Mary totally surprised me! I don’t read too much science fiction and that book has stayed with me, it has its own shelf in my brain’s library. Thanks for sharing! You’re quite a fun guy I’m glad to follow.

I have too many favs, this was such a phenomenal reading year. Not counting rereads I read 94. But some of my favs: House of Flame and Shadow, Beasts of War, A Dowry of Blood, Crowns of Nyaxia series, Legendborn Cycle, Ninth House and Hellbent, The Poppy War trilogy, Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, Babel, Chain Gang All Stars, Red Rising series, Clytemnestra, Circe, Immortal Dark, Funny Story, and the Sword of Kaigen. 😅😅😅

This year I read The Age of Madness, Liveship & Tawny Man plus I fell down a GGK rabbit hole with 6 of his books in a row. I went back to finish most of Boudica and now ending the year with The Last King of Osten Ard.

You introduced me to the Red Rising series, which has become one of my favorite series of all time. I binged the first trilogy and am loving the second so far. Thanks for the recommendation!!

Man, the reformatory was so tough. I loved it but it was genuinely hard to get through some chapters. I also grew up really close to the school she based this off of so maybe it's just a bit too real sometimes. Seriously great book though.

Recommend NK Jemison's The America We Became as a mixture of sci-fi/fantasy. You may have already read it.

Been in a slump until I discovered you recommending red risings, this series revived my reading bug. My favourite series and been on a fantasy binge ever since glad to have found you

Added a lot of your recommendations to my reading list. Check out the Enders Game series(Orson Scott Card) and Hyperion series(Dan Simmons) if you haven’t! I’d also recommend Shogun(James Clavell), the show didn’t do it justice even though it wasn’t bad.

I've recommended DCC a few times randomly to you on tiktok, glad you liked it lol. A few other Litrpg/Progression fantasy to check out that are as popular are: Mother of Learning (it's basically groundhogs day meets harry potter in the best way possible), Arcane Ascension (puzzles, academy trope, climbing through tower trope, brando sando level of magic system, found family), Cradle (dbz if it were an epic fantasy). These are some of the "staples" that get recommended a lot in the community, and they are great to read in between the big epic fantasy books. Happy reading!
