Empire of the vampire!!!! Empire of the damned!!!! Best books of aaallll time!
@@nataliefennell3176 I’ll have to look into it!
I’m here for an awesome black brother giving me recommendations thank you for being here I love this so much instant subscribe!
I appreciate you!
Dont understand the hype on this one. This was a DNF for me and my brother.
I have tried reading fantasy but the magic systems are too complex and too many characters to keep Up with. The ones you mentioned sound good but idk if I can follow it 😂😂
All good!
Sun Eater series is very well written.
I agree!
The only one on this list that I've read, was The Reformatory, and it was indeed a 5 star read.
That’s dope
I am here for the six star recommendations
Fireeee
Some absolute bangers in there.. 2 x 6* books for me I'd add are: Blood Song by Anthony Ryan and also Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff. Two of my all time fave books that I love.
I’ll have to look into those!
Impeccable taste my friend. Subscribed.
Appreciate that!
great reviews my friend!
Thank you!
Our tastes align. Can't wait to see where The First Law lands for you. Gotta be 5 or 6 stars I bet.
Will let you know!
After reading Robin Hobb, trying to read Brandon Sanderson books is like going from a Michelin star restaurant to fast food.
Mmm interesting!
You don't understand the star system.
Okay
Blood Over Bright Haven is so underrated. I’m a 100 books year reader and this one broke my scale…6/5. Your next 6 might be in Greenbone Saga 😏
It was so amazing!
Brandon Sanderson is the best (to me only on par with one other author). His insight into how to construct a character, a character arc, a world, and then tie them together into a story is unparalleled. He’s also extremely ambitious and has developed the skills to back it up. And throughout he’s set a new standard for communicating with fans.
I agree!
I am on book 5 of Sun Easter. This series has jumped to the very top of my favorite Sci-fi of all time. Absolutely fantastic.
Series goes absolutely crazy
Liking and saving the video for future TBR reference but I’ve gotta comment to say, excellent Manning shirt! Go Vols! Go Colts!
Amazing! Go Colts!
Man you seem to have the same taste as me in books, I'll favorite this video and use it for my TBR 😄
So dope!!
Excited to get my 1st book published, and for Smitty to give it a review!!
I dnf Way Of Kings my first read through as well. But I actually picked it back up during the pandemic and fully went down the Sanderson rabbit hole after that
Like it’s so crazy
Love the jersey!
Love all the reviews, I've been on the fence for the Red Rising Series, and you may have convinced me lol! Also GO VOLS!!! (great shirt)
Appreciate you!
Let's talk about that shirt! Where did you get it?? Go Vols!
@@dillinisgood haha I got it from the TikTok shop!
I think for Red Rising Darrow should be a breakout role for a no name actor. Tom Holland as Sevro is an interesting pick that I hadn’t thought of, and I could see how that would work. I actually like Freya Allan as Mustang.
I think in Mistborn Sazed should be played by Dwayne Johnson…hear me out. They should use the CGI that they used in Captain America: The First Avenger to make Steve Rodgers look small, then when Sazed uses his magic it could be the real Rock.
I could actually see that
Very cool list.
Thank you!
Have you read Left Hand of Darkness? I finally read it last year, and I think about it often.
I have not! Will look into it though
Go Vols! Love the shirt bro.
Appreciate it!
rewriting my reply to you from another comment so I know that you see it. To Sleep in a Sea of Stars is the book name. The series is called The Fractalverse. And two amazing fantasy books that I haven't seen talked about at all are The Aeronaut's Windlass, book 1 The Cinder Spires series by Jim Butcher and She Who Rides the Storm, book 1 of the Gods-Touched duology by Caitlin Sangster (this one I'm in middle of the first book).
Thank you!
Would you recomend sun eaters, red rising, or the will of many for someone coming out of sword of keigan and all of Sanderson
Will of the Many to start with the Sun Eater
@@Smitty1423 you got it. Thanks.
thank you for your book that im discovering
My fantasy book series of all time is the Dragonriders of Pern by Anne Mccaffrey.
Thanks for the rec will have to look into it!
I'm screaming: where's Joe Abercrombie's First Law?! But seriously The First Law is absolutely incredible (when it comes to writing style it is "character focused") and once you've finished it you would be: team Logen or team Glokta ;) Seriously Glokta is one of the greatest characters in all of fiction, every scene (especially his inner-monologue) is amazing. I agree, if adapted properly into tv series, it could rival Game of Thrones (in its prime of course, not season 8;). Btw. do you read manga/comics?
@@acehighbase actually currently reading right now!
@@Smitty1423 "Body found floating by the docks" ;)
I was going to jump in here and recommend The Will of the Many, little did I know….
Yeah that book was incredible
Love the vids, brother. Shame about you being a Colts fan though ;)... Go birds! It was awesome to hear someone else that was blown away by Prisoner of Azkaban as much as I was. The way the whole marauders story was told was some heart wrenching stuff, I remember just lying in bed thinking about it all night. Anyway, keep it up my man!
Yes and as a kid that was such a great moment! Also Colts nation! Haha
I just wanna say that Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah is one of the best newer authors when it comes to socio-political satire, dystopia fiction, and Black/Afro surrealism 💯. P.S., You don't miss when it comes to book recommendations 💯.
I’m really a big fan of him for sure and thanks for this compliment!
Great video idea. Glad you made your way to booktube, I enjoy your stuff!
I’m glad too! Thanks!
@@Smitty1423 would love to have you on my show chatting with Nutts sometime if you’re interested!
@@thefantasynuttwork I’d be down for that
@@Smitty1423 sick! I’ll send you an email! 🙏
You should get in to the rest of the Red Rising series, Dark Age (book #5 is an easy 6⭐️ read for me)
It’s on my list for sure!
I know you are reading Abercrombie at the moment. There is a high chance you will go into a rabbit hole of grimdark books after that book.😂 Happy reading!
Haha I’m down for it
i know its not reliable, but for me book cover design, and illustration do affect my mood to read....if its beautiful...it does kicks off your mood and excitement.
That’s a good one!
I'm about 1/3 through The Spear Cuts Through Water and I'm absolutely adoring it. The narrative style is so unique and captivating. I'm nowhere near the fantasy fan that you are but I can see this maybe ending up a 5 or 5+. I love how all the voices come together like a whole culture is trekking me its greatest story. I love how much you're loving the Sun Eater series. I've read all of it to date, even the short story collections, and it's basically flawless. I mean, there's even good disability rep! I'm going to give The Will of the Many another try on your say so. It didn't hit with me when I had it from the library earlier this year and lots of others were waiting for it so I let it go to be a good citizen but I think now I need to make sure I don't miss out. Thank you for this video!
Yeah give it another try but yess loved Sun Eater and Spear!
Ive read and can mostly agree with a lot of this list. Will have to check out rage of dragons and sword of kaigan
Amazing! Let me know if you do!
You’re the only other person I’ve seen whose favourite Harry Potter books are 3 and 5. My entire reading life between 12-15 was the HP series but those two hit different and I couldn’t wait to get to them on a reread. I also need to get to one dark window asap! If you’re a character focused reader the realm of the elderlings has to be on your TBR if you haven’t read yet. Love the video 💕
I will look into the realm of the elderlings! Thanks
I will get into Brandon Sanderson's The Mistborn Trilogy and the Stormlight Archive series, and his other works after i eventually finish reading the books on my TBR, but this was an amazing, insightful video about one of the most prolific fantasy authors in our society today💯.
@@Z3ROMyth amazing!
As always, your taste in books is impeccable 🙏🏼
Appreciate that!
A lot of the books you have in this video are on my TBR. You are talking me into finally picking them up. I did just finish The Final Empire. I am now reading The Well of Ascension.
@@the_kansan_reader nice! Let me know when you finish Hero of Ages!
I'm in the almost done reading To Sleep in a Sea of Stars, first book in the Fractalverse by Christopher Paolini (author of Eragon), and it's absolutely amazing. It's pure sci-fi written for adults, and it's so gripping and deep and just plain fantastic. Definitely recommend. Definitely going to be a five star book
@@joedoe7572 thanks for the rec will check it out for sure
@@Smitty1423 sorry, I mixed that up a bit. That's the title of the book. So many great recommendations! Keep up the great videos 🔥
Appreciate it!
In the "hero of ages" I always thought to myself, how will sanderson tie all these plots together to make it fit in these last few pages until I felt like, he can't possibly achieve it. And then, boom. Everything down to the last part fit so perfectly, it was actually insane.
Such a perfect ending had me stuck!
I recently read howling dark and was blown away. Can’t wait for Demon in white. Also, agree with the Will of the Many!
Let’s gooo Sun Eater is one of my favorite series for sure
