    Just wanted to insert a big THANK YOU, Rusty. I'm binge-watching your Prius camping playlist in Jan. 2022. Heck, yours is an awesome series of helps, how-to's and confidence boosting videos!
    I'm camping in a Town and Country van and was in Navajo Nation recently for my first outing. I will be going to other areas of beautiful NM next.
    I so appreciate your mentioning those NAMES of parks, numbers of great camp spots and BLM land, etc. Also, Thank You for your "Follow Your Gut and Get Out" video. Dang. That sure has me thinking. YOU ARE A FUN FELLA AND ARE SO APPRECIATED. OK. Now back to Rusty's playlists... 😊

    That would depress me beyond words. I need organization.

    Rusty, I find your voice and the cadence of your speech so comforting and soothing. I really enjoy your videos. I think you would do well at voice acting or narration on TV or radio. Cheers!

    Tip for window covers if you get a piece of cardboard and pencil it out from the inside to cut the shape out. Once you do that tape the insulation to it and it’ll pop right in the window from the inside of the car. Quick small and easy I did it for all my windows even the long one on the trunk.

    Rusty, since you love NM so much I think you should move here. I'm from OKLAHOMA and have been in ABQ for 31 years. I still love OKC and the SOONERS though I love living in NM.. We have some of the best climate in the entire country. I get my new Prius V tomorrow. HOT DOG!

    The blue painter's tape was a good and economical idea. If you can bear the extra expense, gaffers tape is super sticky and doesn't leave residue.

    Just found your channel, Rusty, love it! Do some more camping videos. Love your honesty. You're never boring. I don't have a Prius but that's okay, still lots of of usable information. Unique stuff!

    I spent an entire summer in my Prius and it didn’t look like yours at all. And I had my dog with me. You can buy black magnets on Amazon cheap that will work on that netting. Or you can buy window sox on Amazon that cover the whole top if the door and keep bugs out but you can roll the Windows down inside them. But as long as you are comfortable. If you buy Reflextic (that bubble crap) and spray paint it black on one side, it will fit into your windows on the inside. Silver for day, black fir night.

    I enjoyed your video. Thanks for taking time to share your set up. Have to say though, it’s easy to find a reusable, environmentally friendly cup to will replace that styrofoam cup. Styrofoam is not recyclable. I have one from Walmart, under $10, that keeps things cold and not very well and will last the rest of my life, providing I don’t drive off with it sitting on the top of the car!

    Great video- really enjoyed learning how you've set up your Prius RV! I'm trying to figure out which gear is most helpful and what's extraneous. I actually have a Lazy Daze RV like the one that is in the other campsite there in your video, but enjoy the stealthiness, gas mileage, and simplicity of the Prius RV too. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy your Coors Light! :)

    Thanks, Rusty, for the great videos. Very informative. For your phone or camera's microphone, you can try feather down (soft and white) from the base of the quill. Small piece of double-sided tape to secure it around the mic hole. Seems to work like an owl's wings for silence for some people.

    Rusty, my sewing skill are terrible, but I cobbled together what I think is a better screen solution than you currently have. I've created a screen "sleeve" or "envelope". The shape of the sleeve is the exact shape of the top half of the prius door. So I just open the door and slide the sleeve down over the open door. The result is TWO screens per window. One on the outside of the car, the other on the inside. Since the door and doorway have rubber gaskets no damage occurs to the sleeve when shutting the door. The only opening where bugs could get in would be at the bottom of the sleeve. This can be secure with either tape or a magnet or even I suppose spritzing a little water on it and sticking it to the car via cohesion. I use organza to make the sleeve. It is a very fine netting.

    • @TessaHill22
      @TessaHill22 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree Philip Langlois that your solution is brilliant! I'm going to try that!

    The AC feature is a big deal to have in summer camping while parked, if it doesn’t compromise the life of the big battery. What do you think? I’m seriously thinking of buying a Prius so I can summer camp more comfortably without hauling an AC around and needing electrical hook ups.

    Rusty I just found your channel and I really enjoy your videos, especially your Prius videos. In fact I have become fascinated with the Prius and I am seriously considering trading in my 2011 Nissan Frontier for a new Prius 3 touring model which has the LED headlights and LED fog lights. These lights are very bright and make night driving much safer. I subscribed to your channel . Keep up the good work. Take care sir.

    you guys always forget to put the spare tire/jack and lug wrench behind the drivers seat, last thing you want to do is unload the entire car in the rain or on the side of the highway to get them out of the trunk
