Ah, that has made me wonder for years! A man who says he really loves his wife etc and still screws other women is just a liar. If he really loved his wife he wouldn't risk losing her, simple as that. In the past, living abroad, I've encountered two straight men who said they'd like to take me out for meals and be good friends, but nothing more, because they really did love their wives. One man was English, like me, but working abroad without his wife, the other an Arab from the UAE. Both were wonderful relaxed friendships. I eventually met the Englishman's wife, a great personality, I liked her, her husband worshipped the ground she walked on, and she knew about me.

It can also make guys feel like the girl might be slutty which can also be a turn-off.
