Amazing trip..amazing city I like your exotic walking,it's really beautiful, and Philippines it's for sure in my bucket's list .Thanks to you guys Thank again..
I can't relate much with BGC. I spent my early yuppie years in Makati and Ortigas before being posted in other places. BGC was still largely a military camp then, with patches of grassy areas.
Thanks for sharing your perspective! It's fascinating to hear about how much BGC has transformed over the years. It's amazing how quickly areas can develop and evolve. Do you have any fond memories or interesting anecdotes from your time in Makati and Ortigas during those early years?
@@Fourseasonswalk Oh so nostalgic, like my first job was with an American pharma company in Pasong Tamo that had illustrious neighbors such as Vicks-Richardson, Cafe Puro, Jardine Davis, Crispa Floro, Levis Strauss, Roche, etc. -mostly gone now. I can still imagine the unique smell in a drug manufacturing plant. We had a free supply of a famous vitamin brand. I believe I was so lucky having experienced the glory days of manufacturing in the country. Ortigas came a decade later with Tektite as my corporate home. My salary could allow some lunches in a month at the penthouse Via Mare and I drove the newly released and hyped Honda Accord Vtech, all-expense company-paid. There were only a few skyscrapers then. And could you imagine the cost of gasoline was about 10php/liter and expressway toll fee was around 10php, even voluntary at a certain time? I can go on and on but I am just jolted with the realization of the miserable socio-economic conditions these days.
Wow, your memories of Pasong Tamo and Ortigas back in the day are incredible! It must have been quite the experience working alongside those big American pharma companies. It's amazing how much has changed since then. Thanks for sharing your nostalgic trip down memory lane!@@rolanaguila3273
@@Fourseasonswalk The 80s-90s were the heydays of manufacturing in the Philippines. Most of the US Fortune 100 companies had plants in the country. Incomparable. I had been through other industries, like consumer products, logistics and supply chain, technology, IT-BPO (all multinational), but nothing could compare with the pharma industry (for me).
Amazing trip..amazing city
