All 4 games in this series were exactly the types of playoff games the Giants made a living winning during their 3 championship years. By getting past them the Cubs showed that they had the right stuff to win it all.
As a Giants fan, this series pissed me off so much. I couldn’t believe how bad the bullpen was. The giants were one of the best teams in the league before their bullpen woes started killing them. But postseason Giants is a team that is extremely hard to beat. And also since it was an even year, there were some odds against the Cubs. To me, with those odds against the Cubs, the Cubs showed they had what it takes to win the World Series when they won against the Giants. Completely deserved. Still pissed about this series tho.
Can you imagine if the Giant’s bullpen didn’t blow Game 4 and there was a Game 5 in Wrigley? Giants were so bad the second have of 2016, its amazing they won a single game vs the Cubs
@Alexander Carr I tried a Lester-Cueto sim, and somehow the Cubs won 22-4. Not gonna lie, shocked. However, real life is not a simulation. I think the Giants would have had a good chance of winning a Game 5. Cueto only lost by 1 run on a ball that barely got out in Game 1, so he is just as likely to win as Lester. Not to mention, Bumgarner would have been available out of the pen in a Game 5.
I was at that game 4 and was looking for a little recent nostalgia. I swore, when Gillaspie hit that go ahead triple in the bottom of th 8th against Chapman, I thought this is it, Giants are gonna go get their 4th. Seems like each of the 3 previous had an unlikely hero that just stepped up and put the Giants over the top. Cody Ross in '10, Marco Scutaro in '12, Ishikawa in '14... and then I thought now Gillaspie in '16. But... oh the bullpen. Wasn't meant to be. There were some Cubs fans in my section right next to me and I saw the pain in their faces and how nervous they were after the game despite still having a 2-1 series advantage.
In the 2016 postseason, there was a correlation between game 3 and the winner of the series. In the NL, the loser of game 3 won every series, and in the AL, the winner of game 3 won every series.

As a Cubs and especially Tigers fan, watching this was the sweetest thing ever. It was revenge for the 2012 World Series in a way.
Matt Moore had his best game of his career given the stakes
He a playoff beast, he made like his 3rd career start in the playoffs and went 8 shutty. we should bring him home to SF
As a cubs fan it was a great series to watch.
As I giants fan this hurts to watch but the cubs played a great series and I definitely credit them for that
giants fan suck
if i ever meet a giants fan ill probably kill them

Buckeye4life 440 thank you Buckeye4life 440, very cool!
Giants, the cellar dwellers of the NL West for the next 32 years, now that the Padresare good.
Im excited to watch this! This was an amazing series! And the giants diddent win even though this was an even year!

I think the San Francisco Giants got that from 1969 Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Cubs got that from 1969 New York Mets.
@Alexander Carr If there was a Game 5, it's a Lester-Cueto rematch. Neither Peavy or Hammel are even on the roster.

The Giants outfielders never throw to the plate.
2:38 He does right there
I know the Cubs would go on to beat us too, but as a Dodger fan the 9th inning of game 5 was like porn
lmaoooo
Ted Striker watching the dodgers the last 7 years have been pretty good also
Watching this series was our first test for Cubs. Facing the Giants rotation was scary that year
this was where the six year dynasty of Madison Bumgarner and his Giants came to a close

Such a brutal way to go out, Cueto would’ve done it in game 5 and we probably would’ve won the World Series. Tough
They would've lost in the LCD against the Dodgers
Lcs
Ew, imagine a SF VS CLE WS
@@yessir2873 Curry rooting for the Giants and Lebron rooting for the Indians. Why not?
I have a feeling that the cubs still would have won in game 5.
It never gets old!! 😢😁
This is painful for me cuz we blew a 4 run lead and also this was the last time we made the playoffs
We about to make the playoffs once again
@@mrclutch1068 we did it ✌️

great win, coming into their home turf - coming away with the victory, and advancing - you can't draw 'em up any better then that
EXE IS BACK! :D You make a hell of vid my man ;) 10/10 Talent!
Gotta put some respect on the 2016 Cubs. That team was made to win, top to bottom. What a world series we got too.
What an absolute crazy series. Even tho it was short. Thanks for a great vid.
Game 1: SF 0 CHC 1
Game 2: SF 2 CHC 5
Game 3: CHC 5 SF 6 (13)

As a white Sox fan, Chapman standing there with his arms down screaming after getting the last out will always be iconic to me. 11:43
watching back to the good times💔😓

Huge mistake taking Matt Moore out of the game
11:15 goes hard
Can you do 2016 ALCS, NLCS, and World Series highlights in separate videos?
ITS A GOOD THING THE CUBS PITCHERS COULD HUH??? SF MADE CHAPMAN LOOK LIKE A LITTLE KID AND THE CUBS WERE LUCKY THE GIANTS DIDNT HAVE A CLOSER.
Hey Bruce Bochy... thanks for taking out Matt Moore after the 8th inning. LOL
That camera angle was ass at Wrigley

Who else heard that woman around 2 minutes that was chanting lets go chapman?
Hunter Pence has to catch that ball. If he had ANY CONTROL of his extremities he calmly and easily gets to and catches that ball
Annnd the core is now gone 😔
