    Does the thruster hang down beneath the back of your boat? I have been contemplating a hydraulic stern thruster for a few years but my transom only goes down in the water about 5 inches. I worry about drag.

      It does not hang down. It could stand to be a bit lower as you see from the cavitation...lol. But I really need to fill my water tanks since I have 150 gallons right in the back. I also need to relocate all my tools and parts from the V birth to the aft storage once I am done. That will help too. I am not sure 5 inches will be enough. Obviously a bow thruster would work for you.

      I agree your thruster should almost be down at the bottom before the hull rolls under.
