Thanks for posting; until he got some fame in "Martin," he was always very under-rated. He even has the north Dublin accent down to a tee; not easy for someone from his part of the the country (Mullingar, in the mid-lands, as far as I know.)
Concerning "The Snapper," I always thought that dodgy businessman Bertie (the youngest of the group at 2.00 in this video) was miscast; the actor who played him in "The Van" was much more similar to the book character: a shady character that you couldn't trust with a dark, sly, malicious side that made Jimmy weary of him.
How the fuck did this guy target me!!??? lol How did he know I'm drinking a mickey right now!! lol I quit for a month. BUt shit. Damn you NSA watching my life ! haha
One of the best humorous characters in all Irish film.
Having spent many an afternoon with Northsiders from 90s Dublin, he absolutely nailed that character haha😂
”And you, you malignant little bastard”. 🤣
Hopefully, we'll see him back in The guts!
AKA Chief Miles O'Brien in Star Trek (TNG and DS9) 😉
Brilliant film 🎥

Genius
National treasure so he is
There is a dublin bus controller sounds like him
There are tons of Dubliners who sound like him!
There are LOTS of Dublin people who sound like him: except those from Rathfarnham, Foxrock or Donnybrook.
Snip snip.
It’s a nappy
Did I miss it, or did you leave out "Elvis is God"? That's what I came for!
He was Jimmy Rabbite Snr in The Commitments, Dessie Curly in The Snapper and Larry in The Van.
Octavian Caesar Hibernicus In the novels all three of these men were the same character.
Ben Daly McKenna I'm sorry but who mentioned the bloody novels, I'm watching what was put on screen, not what was written in the trilogy.
@Keith1974 Why couldn't they use the same name in the Van and the Snapper? I mean the same, different name, in both of those films?
@@OldSchoolRasslin I always found the differing surnames to be obnoxious
@@OldSchoolRasslinUniversal had something to do with it after the commitments

played by Stuart Dunne, an expert in scummy parts
@@nlgbbbblth Thanks Mate, appreciate it. 😁👍
