I varnished this gouache painting after letting it dry for a a few days. If you want to know more about my varnishing process here is a detailed tutorial about it: th-cam.com/video/7YefJEGvYtY/w-d-xo.html

So happy you have been showing up on you tube again. Your painting always makes me feel happy or restful or something always nice. Choice of music, colors, length of vid. All good. Thank you. Everyone should download your free offers. Informative, useful. The online class was also good. I recommend it to any one interested in this medium.

This is wonderful. I am going to create something today, the black birds that visit our bird bath and splash and have fun in the sun. You have inspired me, thank you 😌🌺❤️

I love to see your sketches come alive and … the light! OMG! You make it look effortless! I continue studying with your amazing course and feel I’m making a lot of progress - especially for someone like me - who never had any formal painting/art education. Your course has helped me see color and mix it too. I have so much to look forward to practice what I am learning. Thank you for making these videos and sharing!!! ❤

Thank you so much for you nice comment, Patricia! I am so glad you are enjoying my online course! If you practice color mixing regularly by painting simple subjects you will become much more confident at it and the whole painting process will feel more natural to you 😊❤️

Have you ever considered showing your reference photo for some of the gouache paintings that you do? I find it helpful to see how artists translate what they see from a reference. I wouldn't ask that it be done to all videos but it might be nice to see it done once in awhile. We kind of see that in some of your plein air painting videos. Just curious... but thank you for great videos...

I do share the references for my paintings sometimes, but not in the videos, in my writings. Here, on my blog, you can find two articles with the references for two of my recent gouache paintings www.lenarivo.com/blog
Tomorrow I will publish another article from the series in which I will talk about the painting process of this painting and I will share the reference photos I used for this painting.

I've never seen anyone seal a gouache painting before. Is that a clear acrylic medium or something more specific to gouache? Also, what is your favorite brand of gouache? I'm trying a Himi set right now and not getting the results I'd like. I am new to gouache from a watercolor background...

I use W&N and Holbein gouache. They are great. Here is a tutorial on how I varnish my gouache paintings. th-cam.com/video/7YefJEGvYtY/w-d-xo.html
