I enjoy seeing you pick thru and evaluate less valuable jewelry as that reflects a large part of my collection : in fact I even started wearing some of my cheapskate vintage jewels thinking to myself "that's a friend it forward" or "there's a place for that" :)
I absolutely love listening to u commentating on this jar. It’s hysterical. It’s everything I think of when watching someone open a jar and say how great it is. I love u telling the truth. Things like it’s awful and it’s crap is hysterical. You really should think about doing opening jars and telling the truth. It’s so refreshing. I watch u all the time. Love your new house! Congrats!
How on earth did I miss this video Dawn? That jar turned out to be a pretty good buy! Some lovely friend it forward pieces.💍 📿💎📿💍. Just watched your live. It was fun! Take care and be happy! 💕 ✌ xx
I'm watching it now, it's an hour so I'm leaving a message now. I need to get a jar from somewhere :) I totally want to do a friend mail trade when I get it together. I'm in chaos in the moment. But it will be super fun. God bless you Dawn ♥ I have some glass cutters, one does circles, what size is the broken one, I'll use it to practice.
Wonderful tiny things, and that cool big art piece. It was absolutely worth it, especially for the fabulous locket. I collect things that I can put things inside, ever since that skit on SNL that had the antique store "but the best part is"...♥
I've seen 5 at GoodWill since the last time I did a jewelry jar video. They were not worth getting, I can't sift through crap, it's exhausting. So much better to spend the time elevating what you buy, what you collect etc. You can make $10 every time you go to the post office, or you can make $100. What do you think?
Hi Dawn, loved the jar, some really good stuff in it. Those coins in the garnet earrings look like old Portuguese coins and the amethyst flower earrings also look Portuguese.
This was great! You make the jewelry jar fun. I found a hattie Carnegie necklace in a jewelry bag recently. Rest was fashion jewelry which I sold. Thank you for posting :) As always I enjoy your videos.
I have the Harry Potter Time Turner also. Much of the value of the jewelry jars is in the tinies and in the broken stuff that can be used for crafting for those of us that dabble in making jewelry.
Hello Dawn! I just discovered you a couple weeks ago and think you are amazing! I have always been a big fan of natural elements, stones, etc. This unboxing was amazing! Anyway, you inspired me so I bought a big unknown lot too. Tons of cool stuff, but my 2 boys, hubby, and my favorite piece was the "time turner"! ...so cool! Is there anyway you would sell it or could let me know how to get one more? My boys both love the one I came across..our favorite even above some real 14K, sterling silver, and amazing costume jewelry. We have watched Harry Potter, but didn't seem to connect the dots. My boys are 10 and 12. Anyway if you are willing to sell it I would love to purchase it so my boys can each have one. No hard feelings either way. Thank you SO much for inspiring me to give in to my love of jewelry! You are doing an amazing job! You are so fun, educational, and just amazing! Thank you so much! Sue
Hi Dawn, I was so excited and didn't want to have you to part with it so I found another and bought it. I hope that is ok. I have other pieces of yours that you show that I am liking a lot too though! I must tell you over this one video of yours (I replayed it for my boys and hubby ) and my unboxing 1 or 2 days before (They joined me in my first ever "unboxing" that I did, not recorded or anything just for fun) and they went through the lot like a day later I saw your video and replayed it to them after school to see their thoughts. They have been so interested in that one piece and the more structural pieces we found! It is super cool when I pull a piece and show one of the boys and my youngest usually says "art deco right, Mom?" ! they are future engineer/architects so we love those types of pieces...3D that is an amazing piece! The coolest part is how I have been learning from you the last couple of weeks and now my boys have become quiet savvy at jewelry definitions. Not sure if we are right, but it is fascinating! Anyway, you are inspiring future architects, engineers, history lovers, and so many more across all ages whether guys or gals! Great job! We love all you do! Thank you so very much! Sue
I almost got a blue box from Goodwill. I had it in my cart and I chickened out. It was $50 and I was afraid I was going to get a bunch of junk but after watching this video I might try it next time. I’d love to find something like those little rose gold flower earrings.
Hello Dawn, would you please give a little more info on the hidden symbols in jewelry. Such as brands and what to look for. Thank you for another great video!
Hiya! Been subbed for some time but this is my 1st comment. I’m enjoying learning about vintage/antique jewellery (I deal in clothing, housewares, never learned beyond well known brands), I love your channel, thanks for sharing your knowledge! You did really well, most jars I’ve seen are 99% junk. My goodness the deco pieces alone are so lovely + all the others I think you hit it very well! My husband is an elevator/escalator inspector, always finds bits & pieces of jewellery. Is there some kind of kit I can get to test for real diamonds, various precious metals? Many times since they’re found in the pits, markings are obscured by bad scratches (often bent) so you can’t read anything😢. I figure if what looks like a diamond wasn’t cracked, should be real? I’ve so many bits & pieces, would love to be able to identify so a friend who’s a fine jewellery designer (he designed Tiffany’s “Lucida” diamond setting 20 years ago before he left, setup his own biz) can make something new from all I’ve collected over the years. Halloween was our 30th wedding anniversary, so you can imagine how much there is & what I might’ve tossed😳! Even tiny diamonds would make fab nose rings; in the 80s mine fell into the floorboards of the 250 yr old house where I was living in London, OOPS! Best find ever was at a church rummage sale when they had a $5 bag sale & I stuffed a 30s blk mouton lamb coat in not seeing the pin on it... a vintage Tiffany’s pin! I gave it to my mum who passed in ‘17 & can’t find it or the other jewellery I had her keep for me when I was moving around so much in the 80s & forgot about😕. I hope it & my other things show up before “the vulture” (if she hasn’t already) swipes it🤞! TIA & thanks for all your great content! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️🦇😻🐈⬛
Hi Holly! There is a tell tale sign on the back ~ they look a little gloppy between the stones but perfetly plated, and there is common findings to the pieces. SO both of those together may mean Juliana xo~Dawn
It didn’t seem like you were going to find anything good at first. I’m glad that changed and you found some nice pieces. I enjoy wearing costume jewelry.
so glad you didnt prick yourself and I bet you couldnt wait to wash your hands afterward! I normally dont watch these unjarrings b/c theres so much junk but this was very interesting b/c you are so knowledgeable.
That is a very good question. If it is marked sterling or tests as sterling and it is from the correct time period and the correct color, then you know. Gold colored sterling is gold over silver and if it is a minimum micron than it is vermeil. THANKS so much for watching xo~Dawn
Please don’t donote anything back to goodwill cause they sell again I buy jars that’s something have pure garbage is rare when you find good stuff is expensive right now buy a jar what I do I give away to my friends and family of course the ones that are good to wear it and I been buy jar for over 10 years is was better before right now they check almost anything but you have two good ones keep on buying I have my prefer goodwills some I don’t even care cause they sell only the trash
Believe it or not I understand what you are saying. It occurred to me when I was putting everything in a bag to take over. I'm donating it to a local small little shop that will make craft bags. I realized that if I bring it back and then want to get another jar I'll have to be on the look out forever. THANKS for watching xo~D
I enjoy seeing you pick thru and evaluate less valuable jewelry as that reflects a large part of my collection : in fact I even started wearing some of my cheapskate vintage jewels thinking to myself "that's a friend it forward" or "there's a place for that" :)
Oh how lovely. Thank you M. Pixley that is a warm and lovely, kind thought. xo~Dawn

Wow I was with you in the beginning it did not look promising haha, but turns out it was filled with hidden gems, what a great jar!
it was iffy there for awhile.. thanks for watching xo-D

Hi! I know it is loooong... The jar was so full of tiny things. THANKS VonDa xo~D
Wonderful tiny things, and that cool big art piece. It was absolutely worth it, especially for the fabulous locket. I collect things that I can put things inside, ever since that skit on SNL that had the antique store "but the best part is"...♥
So fun to watch!!! I wish Goodwill did these jars more! I haven’t seen them in my area in years.
I've seen 5 at GoodWill since the last time I did a jewelry jar video. They were not worth getting, I can't sift through crap, it's exhausting. Lovely table. Was it your cell ringing? Like the green bracelet.❤
Hi Dawn, loved the jar, some really good stuff in it. Those coins in the garnet earrings look like old Portuguese coins and the amethyst flower earrings also look Portuguese.
hi Maria thanks so much for that info!! i have homework xo-D
Why do we enjoy these unjarrings so much? the unknown? The hope? Glad you talking us through it. Thank you!!
It is a mystery.. I like them more than I want to like them. xo~Dawn
This was great! You make the jewelry jar fun. I found a hattie Carnegie necklace in a jewelry bag recently. Rest was fashion jewelry which I sold. Thank you for posting :) As always I enjoy your videos.
Love it!! ❤️
That was a great jar all the gold and silver. You have a big heart ❤ to give away such lovely jewelry.
thanks Angela!
The blue necklaces that you put in ff tray. What is the name of that stone or material?
So funny watching you go through the jars, the lows the highs🤣🤣 I haven't found the patience yet to get one.
Hey Shasean!! So happy you are here! I hope you are doing fabulous with you finds.. Truth be told, it was exhausting. THANKS for commenting ❤️xo~Dawn
I have the Harry Potter Time Turner also. Much of the value of the jewelry jars is in the tinies and in the broken stuff that can be used for crafting for those of us that dabble in making jewelry.

hello dawn. would you please explain how to identify "juliana" pieces? thank you
Hi Holly! There is a tell tale sign on the back ~ they look a little gloppy between the stones but perfetly plated, and there is common findings to the pieces. SO both of those together may mean Juliana xo~Dawn

Why don’t you just throw the broken pieces away and not put them back in the jar
You move so fast it’s hard to see that you are holding.
