  • Like London buses, we get two more Speed Yellow 996 Carrera 4S' come in for an FGP refresh. This time the cars are sales cars and have the very rare X51 power pack engine.

    Chocolate Engines
    Replacements
    I'll never buy a 996
    Can't believe people do

      The standard Internet response...
Yes they have issues like many of premium brands, m power big ends for example, but they also have solutions as covered in this video.
By a car thats had a replacement engine, or maybe just stick to a normal car. Wheres the fun in that though

Just pay up and buy a 991 by the time you mess around with another replacement £10,000 to £15,000 chololate engine you'll wished you'd never bought a 996 nightmare
But hey this is the most stupid time in human history
Just look at all the stupidity

I question whether this is the right channel to be watching then? I’d imagine there’s plenty of Toyota and Lexus content out there for you.

My wife and I are both very attracted to the idea of a 911.
Where we part is power and colour.
She thinks even the base Carrera is adequate and that only under spoken colours will do.
I think that not only is more power an essential element but I’m open to lary paint. She doesn’t like the idea that quite quickly, everyone in our neighbourhood would know who owns that Speed Yellow 911!
We’re both similarly sensitive to spec and to interior colours, finishes and wear of these. We’re both light on our interiors. Cars we’ve had for over a decade still look very similar to how they were when we bought the car.
I’d choose a Turbo at the drop of a hat, recognising that I definitely don’t need the performance but that the pleasure of owning one would be terrific.
Speed Yellow 996/997 Turbo? Black leather interior plus upgrades? Yes please.

I had FGP fit the Milltek Cup to my 996 C4, along with Top Gear headers and can confirm the great sound. These guys arguably becoming one of the leading authorities on 996’s, given the numbers they see through the shop.

Attic Silver 2004 911 996 X51 package 3.6 litre with 55,335 miles and 6 speed manual transmission. Would rather drive and listen to it than the 2015 911 C2S 3.8 liter PDK. Both are fantastic in their own right but that 996 has unique, beautiful eyes, a fabulous curved wide body and she shows her strong passion on the roads.

I considered looking for a C4S that had the front diff' removed as per C2 spec but couldn't find one for sale. Has been done though. I ended up going with a C2 in the end though.

Does an X51 engine add any value or is it just a nice spec to have on your car?

    • @rogerjones3341
      @rogerjones3341 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Adds quite alot more value , if it was a factory fitted optional extra , imo prob what it cost at time of build ,so I'd imagine around 5-6k on top of a standard c4s
