Just had a ford 4000 pto shaft pulled out. This video tremendously helped me. Now to hook up and see if it stays in now. The grease on the stick. My man you are a winner. My son face was priceless when everything went together. Update Everything works great. 💪
I really appreciate this video. It really helped watching this done before diving in. I've got the exact same situation going on and was struggling to figure out what part numbers to buy. Thanks so much for your efforts here!
Great videos and well done on a good field repair. I've no idea why this video would receive 11 thumbs down. I fixed main battle tanks for a number of years and can assure you that you did great with the tools you had and the location you were in. Its a ten from me :)
I just replaced the seal in my 1986 Ford 1910 4WD. If just the seal is needing replacement, leave the shaft in the tractor and pull only the plate containing the seal, leaving the shaft in the tractor. You will avoid the possibility of the bearing fork dropping and having to fish it back into place. I know from experience.....
I’m contemplating changing my rear seal.. I have been surfing the tube looking at instructional vids. It seems that the seal should go behind the pto housing and in front of the bering.. The only reason that locking ring would bend like that is because of there space is where the seal would be...
Hi! I just need to change the oil seal. Can I do that without the shaft coming out and the coupler dropping, etc? I have almost the same tractor. Thank you!

I’m glad I read this comment. I have to replace the seal in my 4000 and have been apprehensive about pulling the shaft
.y predicament as of today...
Lol, this is exactly what I just asked in the comments. Thanks for the heads up. I wasn’t looking forward to that.
Do you do this with the pto engaged?
@@joerogan8723 No, my PTO wasn't engaged when I did mine.
Great video, my seal just went out on my 3000 so I'll be doing the same repair in a few weeks!

What is holding the seal in place???
Just did my 74 Ford 3000 PTO. Itis es quit different but sort of similar.. The C clips are the pain in the ass..
Love the video, I have a 1985 Ford 1910 where could I possibly look for a shaft if it is broken ?
I have a Ford 4600 and the PTO is not turning. I checked the clutch, and I think the clutch is OK. Please advise.

Congrats, nice job-
Well done sir!
You sanded the sealing surface down huh.
Just to add; you could have driven home without the PTO engaged.. The loss of differential UTF would not have made a difference on the diff gears..
good mornig tractor
Curious what caused the PTO to come out like it did to begin with?
Bush Hog jumped up violently
Can I assume you greased the seal before placing the shaft??
Please explain why this is necessary?
Hello. Is there a video about the kubota M7030 tractor?
Check with Tokyo
You shouldn't hit the inner side of the bearing..Since it's resistance is on the outer ring you should hit the outer ring.
He also didn’t replace the outside snap ring that keeps the bearing from moving forward
Great Job
Good job

I just got a 4410. Need to replace the seal myself, was the manual that you used a regular Ford 4000 series tractor manual?
Great tractor! it will serve you well. VERY difficult to find information on though. Thankfully yes I was able to use the 4000 series manual
More Specifically the FO-31 manual
Archers Acres I ordered it. I appreciate it.
