    Brock is such an amazing guy. I called when we were having troubles with a map we installed in my built busa and he answered the phone and talked us thru it. I have so much respect for the man.

    I just don't understand how some people can give a thumbs down to this kind of info, from this caliber of rider. I started on on cable clutch bikes with heavy springs, you had a hand full back in the 70 ties . Know with these new style clutches and hydraulic clutches things are much easier to get a grasps of and make smooth.

    Did something similar on a friends 500 Kawasaki triple many years ago, but it didn't end well. I've been out of the game for about 30 years and recently picked up a '88 Suzuki 1100 Katana when I retired (Still like the old bikes) and would love to be able to pull off a launch like that.

    This is what I've been looking for, had a blackbird that I could launch at 4500rpm, but I've been struggling after 6 years of not riding and now owning a gen 1 busa. Been feeling clueless about how to go about launching it out of the hole. Going to try 2500rpm launches next time I'm in "mexico" and work from there to find my comfortable with the new bike

    • @cycledrag
      @cycledrag  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Practice at a low RPM. There is no need to leave that hard in the beginning. My ETS got better when I dropped the RPMs on the launch.

    • @shbp21
      @shbp21 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Are you using only two fingers on the clutch? You should have a strong enough grip with just the index and middle finger on the clutch but if not you might need to adjust your clutch lever.

    He lost me when he said leave at 2500. I don’t know as much as him so I’m listening. I’ve a noob compared to him no doubt, but launching is my strong point for some reason. It’s been natural for me I think because I came to bikes from drag racing cars. Leaning more degrees I need work. Riding Wheelies I need work. A lot of areas I need work. But I can leave hard af. But I’m seeing him leave now I’m at the end of the video. He’s leaving fast af. Idk if the busa is different from my bike that much but I have to leave at 4500. To stay smooth and fast out in the 60’

    • @muhammadsteinberg
      @muhammadsteinberg 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @GSXRoyce...2500 does seem low. I believe Brock's brief masterclass here (2500rpm) is just a starting point and confidence builder. Brock is much to smart to tell folks to dump the clutch at 8000rpm(+). He kept stressing start of slow and build up. The sweet spot on launching is a personal choice after a rider knows what he/she is doing.
      He definitely doesn't want to kill potential customers...lol

    Hard to believe Brock is wearing a Shoei helmet. You will never see any serious drag racer wearing one at the track. However, he offers good advice on how to sixty foot your bike. leaving at low rpm on a 1000 does not work because they have no low end torque.
