Happy New Year to you and yours Babygirl.🎊🎉🎈. ♥️. Eagerly awaiting your Prince reaction videos, I know you are probably leary because so many of them get blocked by YT, but many of them don't. 👍🏾
At the height of The Seekers' fame and acclaim, Judith Durham quit the group (folk music and pop had never been her thing) to pursue a solo career as a jazz singer, where she never enjoyed great commercial success but achieved the unquantifiable satisfaction that comes from being true to your own heart.
We really did lose in 2022 some of the greatest talent that gave us so much - RIP to one of the most naturally beautiful women and sincerely pure knockout voices of not just the 60's but of the great female vocalists there has been over time period!! A voice just like the group name that no one will ever forget.
So amazing to have someone ur age appreciating such a classic. I was 16 when this was a hit & it brings joyous memories EVERYTIME I hear it. Yes, we're STILL listening to our '60's music, for as long as we're here anyway! It saddens me to inform u that the owner of this "young" voice passed just 5 months ago! 😢
Hi beautiful girl. This performance was n front of a crowd of over 200,000 people. The world really loved the Seekers back then. So good to hear Judith’s beautiful voice again. Thank you
It would be great if you could react to The Seekers performing The Carnival is Over and Morningtown Ride, I know you would really enjoy them. Thank you for reacting to Georgie girl it was great.
Happy New Year Mia! For me is The Seekers - Georgy Girl one of the best songs from the great 1960´s. Judith Durham´s voice is magical. The song reaching number 1 in Australia and number 3 in the United Kingdom. In the US on the Cash Box Top 100 the song reaching number 1. I look forward to more reaction video by The Seekers! 👍
After spending 3 years in the UK, in March 1967, The Seekers returned to Australia for a homecoming tour, which included a record-breaking concert at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl attended by more than 200,000 people. The Seekers were accompanied by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Hector Crawford.
I loved this song. It came out when I was nine yrs old and I knew it by heart. This and "Windy" And Windy has stormy eyes That flash at the sound of lies And Windy has wings to fly Above the clouds (Above the clouds) Above the clouds (Above the clouds) Above the clouds (Above the clouds)
I just loved your countenance through this song. The voice and the song message seemed to speak to you. Fabulous reaction as always, Mia! Here's to your next one! 🙏😊❤️
This was released on The 10th of October 1966 from their " Come The Day " Album . Another brilliant one from The Seekers . Loving the new background Mia , is this a permanent fixture for the time being ? 🙂
1966 🤯 I’m Still Trying To Wrap My Head Around That. Wow , Pure Talent ! & Thank You Paul , Always Appreciate The Info 🙂 The White Background Did Not Take Well To My Hair So I Had To Switch It Up 😂 Which Background Do You Like Most ?
I have always loved this song. I love all your reactions. I will say your so incredibly beautiful and have the most amazing eyes! Love from the Bay Area California, NorCal
I was 5 when this song was a hit. Up until the mid 1970s the world listened mostly to AM radio for pop music. Most metropolitan areas had one large pop music channel on the AM dial and all of us who lived in the area listened to that one station. All pop music was thrown into the same barrel, whether it be pop, rock and roll, country, folk, R&B, whatever. FM radio was for the serious audiophiles and few cars had FM radio. FM stations were specialized where people could hear classical, jazz, etc. For rock and roll, the FM dial was where the edgier music could be found. As the 1980s progressed, FM took over the space that AM radio used to hold, but became splintered into sub-genres... Pop music and R&B on one channel, the emerging hip hop sound on its own channel, Album-oriented rock on another channel, later on, New Wave which later morphed into "alternative rock" on yet another channel. So, if you grew up in the 1980s and later, you never experienced the community of listening to the same music everyone else did... you had your own lane and most people didn't leave that lane to try out others. (I recommend the movie "American Graffiti, set in 1962, the symbolic end of the doo-wop era, where the soundtrack is mostly comprised of a fictional radio station, playing the hits of the doo-wop era (roughly 1955-1963-ish), connecting each scene, as if everyone in the movie was tuned into that station. This song was one of my earlier recollections of pop songs that got frequent airplay on the AM dial and always makes me feel like a little kid when I hear it again.. I'm glad to have discovered your YT channel. I do feel like I'm experiencing the music anew through your eyes. Keep up the great work, you rock!
I've said quite a few times that .... I see the reaction through your emotions which is a similar thing to what you were saying at the end . A lot of people have said similar things ♥️
Georgie Girl was an English movie with a plain looking Lynn Redgrave and the Seekers sang the soundtrack..probably sang three versions during the movie…and back in the States .. Dick Clark announced on American Bandstand that Georgie Girl had just hit number one that week…
Judith does ( sadly did ) have a lovely voice , and I'm privileged to have enjoyed her music all of my life ( I'm 66 ) . The only other popular female vocalist who compares to her is Linda Ronstadt . You should listen to her 'Country Rock' output , as well as her three albums made with Nelson Riddle ( one of Sinatra's regular bandleaders ) singing classics from the Jazz and Swing era , her operatic performances , or her traditional Spanish Folk music . Although Linda is still alive , her health is declining and sadly she can now no longer speak , far less sing ; yet she leaves a wonderful legacy of very fine music behind .
I was 7 ýears old when this song came out, obviously I was too young then, but as I got older really enjoyed The Seekers. Georgie Girl was one of many brilliant songs of theirs. ❤❤
The Seekers gave all the big bands a run for there money in the 60s even the Beatles were held of number 1 a couple of times with there songs . Mia trty reacting to LITTLE EVA the song is The Locamotion . She was a little before the seekers also The PLATTERS you will enjoy them .
Happy New Year to you Miaaaa, this was the title track to the British movie called Georgy Girl, see if you can find the movie anywhere,it's a good watch, from the 60s.
Search Seekers 1968 Complete Concert. Recorded on their final night together as a band in 1968. It is one of the best hours of music ever. They did not sing together again till 1993 and then performed together for another 21 years until their final concerts in 2014, 51 years after they formed as a group. Listen to everything they have ever done. Your life will be much enriched. Judith passed away last year. She was amazingly brave throughout her life battling many tragedies. Her fans are among the most loyal in the world. You will see why.
The song came from the film of the same name, and when the group disbanded they set up The New Seekers with Lynn Paul who was English, and actually lived in a small village not far from myself and across the road from Kate Bush
