  • Trying out the IKEA Air Quality Sensor (Vindriktning)
Particulate Matter Sensor (PM2.5) using a soldering iron. Discovered that my iPhone 13 Pro interferes with the sensor. Am assuming that it's the cameras range finder. Weird.
Consider using this sensor to indicate if your air cleaner (like a commercial HEPA unit, or a Corsi-Rosenthal Box) is working to clean the air in your indoor space. Ikea isn't the only company to sell PM2.5 sensors, but this one is cheap and widely available.
It does not measure carbon dioxide (CO2) like an ARANET4 sensor does, so consider it a different way to measure air quality in your space. VOC, PM2.5 and CO2 sensors are all good, complementary ways to examine air quality.
I am not an Air Quality expert.
Nor am I an HVAC or PPE professional.
Please consult with a professional engineer or other expert if you have questions or concerns regarding air quality, ventilation or personal protective equipment.
