Fabulous video! Absolutely love long board games. Eric Brosius is a great teacher of games. Any chance he could do a series of videos on +3 hour long games; Paths of Glory, Civilizations, Die Macher, Age of Renaissance, etc.
Watching again, not to learn but to enjoy. Could Magister Brosius be convinced to duplicate this effort for GMT's upcoming 1862 game? It would be greatly appreciated!
It's very confusing that you use the term "float" so many times, since this word does not occur anywhere in the GMT rulebook for this game and therefore it took me a long time to search the PDF document to find the instructions on how and when you "float" a company. I believe GMT chose to use the word "Launch" instead because it is easier to understand than using professional stockbroker parlance. The word "Launch" occurs 12 times in the rulebook if anyone wishes to search for the relevant sections of the PDF version of the rulebook.
This series is a great help. Thank you.
Certainly helped me learn this game. Many thanks.
Thanks Richard! Great intro to 1846 and 18xx in general!

Can a player sell shares to another player but not to the stock market ?
Helpful video.
If a President sells shares do they recieve the lowered value (for Presidency sales) or the value prior to this reduction?
Prior. The price drops due to the sale, so it is lowered after the sale.

Ever heard of Windsor, Ontario?
*wonders if he thinks Michigan is part of Canada*
