When I first watch the show, I thought Yetta's behavior wasn't right, now my grandpa is 98 (he is healthy and good shape) he behaves just like Yetta! Lol
Yetta in her own world is the best part of this clip! "Anyone see 'Babe'? How'd they get that pig to learn all those lines?" A few moments later... "What am I nuts? A pig can't learn lines. He must have used cue cards"
she is also hillarious in a (great!) "Happily Divorced" episode where Fran plays her incompetent assistant :)) th-cam.com/video/d2oGOVjv7DQ/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Hunnyhaha
Max: Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, Father, but I hired Miss. Fine purely for her extensive experience in childcare. 😌😌😌😌 Niles, doing a 180° in the back: 👁️👄👁️
I spent years living next to the studio where Babe was made. Funnily enough, I never saw a talking pig going in or out. Must have been at home learning those lines :)
Victor R. Absolutely not true. Most of the Jewish families that emigrated to nyc in the beginning of the 20th century and raised families in the 50s in the outer boroughs like queens are very much reformed and just like this....
I remember loving this show so much back in high school - still do! Then I got my DNA done and discovered just how Jewish I am, and couldn't believe it! One of the happiest days of my life!!
I absolutely love seeing the very clear Millennials/Gen Z references in the comments like, it’s unmistakable. It shows how a great show transpires the test of times regardless of forgotten cultural references and figures
I remember that. She had just arrived in Hollywood from the UK. I loved Man from U.N.C.L.E. Vaughn was so debonair but I had a crush on Ilha also from the UK.
One of my favorite shows. Mr David McCallum was shopping at The Food Emporium, where I used to work. 15 years ago. Retired now. A nice classy man. I recognize him as soon as he walked in the store. He saw my reaction; gave me a warm smile. We weren't allowed to ask for autograph. Heather Locklear, Spike Lee and Julia Roberts (came in at 3am) the store was open 24 hrs; a few who shop there.
Didnt know who Joan Collins and Robert Vaughn were when I watched this as a kid, but as soon as i saw that thumbnail a few minutes ago i got too excited lol
Maxwell is such a snob! I know, I know, it's the whole premise of the show, but, still. Until a few years ago I didn't even know people like him actually existed. I just love that he eventually came around.
To be fair, his parents never took the time to raise or get to know him. There was an episode where he wanted to talk with his father as a child but his father couldn’t be bothered to sit next to him at the table but sat far away. Plus I can forgive the snobbiness here due to the circumstances.
This is one of my fav scenes of the entire series! I always wondered how they got such big names to do this show. I mean Liz Taylor???? She did not do sitcoms ( except Lucy in the 60’s/70’s)
Everyone missed the real joke here. At the end of the scene, Yetta says “you know a pig can’t learned lines. He used cue cards.” If you pay attention to the scene, it’s very obvious that the actor playing Sheffield’s father is reading off cue cards
Yetta is everything in this scene!. Also, Did anyone notice how after Fran took Maxwell's glass away She went behind to reach the bottle of wine and served him another glass? All this while hitting him lol
The collective volume of hair in this scene is incredible.
More hair than an 70's or 80's metal rock band!!!! 🎶🎶🎶🎸🎤🥁🎩
and the poor ozone layer just to film that one episode lol
The bigger the hair the closer to God.
Helium
lots of hairspray and desperation
Yetta's an absolute delight. Best character on the show hands down.
Wrong. Fran is the best on the show.
@@bkkersey93 and Niles 😂
She was a little scrumptious crumpet of clueless wit. ❤
And the funniest
Bkkersey93 and Niles, he was a treasure
“I was wrong. You are nothing like your father!”
*slaps*
“AND I LIKE HIM BETTER!”
😂😂 this show was awesome
i lost it when Yetta randomly brought up Babe 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂....read this comment just as Yeta was saying it
The pig who could learn lines🤣🤣
@Emmanuel González 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣i really am disappointed
That came out of nowhere LOL
That is a cute movie
"Where did you get the exquisite shrimp?
Yetta: I came with her." 😂😂
"No darling i meant the crustacian"
Yetta: oh, shes my daughter.
I freaking love Yetta!
it's freaking hilarious lol
😂😂😂
That was good one lmao
When I first watch the show, I thought Yetta's behavior wasn't right, now my grandpa is 98 (he is healthy and good shape) he behaves just like Yetta! Lol
Yup, seniors, I'm still understanding my mom
it's like when you reach a certain age, you become a child again...
The shrimp and crustacean lines were hilariously, laugh out loud and replay FUNNY!!!
Step-mother darling YOUTHFUL stepmother. Joan Collins has always been a legend
Yetta in her own world is the best part of this clip! "Anyone see 'Babe'? How'd they get that pig to learn all those lines?" A few moments later...
"What am I nuts? A pig can't learn lines. He must have used cue cards"
That cracked me up!
Lol love the way Niles practically does a 180 to give Maxwell's comment the look it deserves, at 1:22 XD
DES Gowlron. Well, Fran was totally in synchronicity with Niles on that one❣️🤭
@@IndomitableT Right? From the very first episode, those two clicked!
DES Gowlron. Utterly and completely😁
Sylvia is FOREVER going after someone's food! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Notice the black an white outfits on both women
Yes I like Joan's earrings and lipstick
They had similar outfits in the whole episode
Can't help but think it's a nod to the saying "Don't mix strips with spots"
They were highlighting the similar tastes of father and son in their women
The Nanny would go out of their way to make these parallels.
Maxwell's dad may have been awful but gotta admit, he is more accepting of Fran than Max's mother ever was.
Maybe Max's mother didn't like the woman who is so like her husband's mistress.
@Betty Spaghetti No he didn't take responsibility when he cheated Sylvia out of her money.
Or his mean old sister
Even Max's little sister was very accepting of Fran into the family.
@@BeeKee404 he never took responsibility, he probably spent more time with his mistress than his own kids and wife
How they managed to get through this hilarious scene without constantly cracking up is beyond me 🤣😂🤣😂
That's why networks no longer film live TV anymore
I've watched this scene time and time again and still find it hilarious!!! Joan Collins is a diamond! She really doesn't mind sending herself up 💎
At 3:08 the father had laughed and when they zoomed in on his face, he had a shocked look so I think he broke scene at 3:08.
I used to watch the series, it was great.
Deirdre Crangle Every few years I seem to find myself rewatching the Nanny and dying laughing at the same jokes. They never get old!
I want to be just like Yetta when I'm old.
You may be, you just won't know it! 😆
I'm already there.
She’s needs to team up with the andres grandma from victorious and open there own utube show.
Why wait? You think she just became unbothered at her old age, or that's how she got there?
@@choppersworld5094 she died already in 2016
Dame Joan Collins should have done more comedy after Dynasty. She's a natural, whom has huge sense of humour. This family scene was hilarious 😂😂😂
She was also excellent as Dutchie in The Royals. I miss that show!
she is also hillarious in a (great!) "Happily Divorced" episode where Fran plays her incompetent assistant :))
th-cam.com/video/d2oGOVjv7DQ/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Hunnyhaha
"Stepmother, darling! Youthful stepmother!"
Joan looks like she popped right out of an episode of Dynasty! XD
Jakegothicsnake yeah but I feel like her style here is more wild and vampy, in Dynasty it was more put together and avant-grade.
When I was a child I couldn't believe someone could eat that much. Now I am exactly like Sylvia.
The fact that both Fran and her have similar clothing style/pattern, just shows like father like son when it comes to taste in women.
"What am I, nuts?! A pig can't learn lines! He must have used cue cards!" LMAOOOO Yetta is hilarious!!!!
I love how they always foreshadowed Fran and Maxwell getting married through other people and their relationships
It's so great how well Joan and Fran got along. Two beautiful, fashion forward, charming young ladies
"Stepmother, darling. Youthful stepmother." 😂😂😂 hm, that reminds me of...
Who?
@@aa.r2588 ...of Fran herself. She's always trying to convince others that she's "29" when she's in her 30s.
@@nadiaishimwe3663 now she must be in her 60's but has barely aged
The writers for this show are geniuses. This scene was divine. RIP Yetta ♥️♥️⚘⚘
“ I came with her.”
A simple line with amazing delivery.
Joan Collins always looked dashing and fabulous.
It could be great to see her in the new Dynasty, as Alexis or Blake's mother, xD
“Anyone see Babe?”
That’s how I’m gonna break every awkward silence from now on 😂
You gotta love Sylvia. No matter what’s happening her mind is always focused on food.😂
She’s my spirit animal
bwahaha true words
Max: Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, Father, but I hired Miss. Fine purely for her extensive experience in childcare. 😌😌😌😌
Niles, doing a 180° in the back: 👁️👄👁️
@Zia RDS Omg we would be such good friends!
I got to this comment at the exact moment that he delivered the line.
Fran: "That's right. You had enough - Niles, take it away."
@@AtlasBlizzard Well I've been with Mr. Sheffield for awhile now and when he drinks wine he gets all swervy.
The writers for this show are the best that ever did it!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
R. I. P. Yetta the Queen! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Are they ever going to bring The Nanny to Hulu or Netflix.?
As Fran would say, "From your mouth to God's ears.." 😄
Brandy Barnes I sure hope so, Amazon prime anything!
If they did, I'd reactivate my Hulu.
The only one I've ever seen it on is Showbox.
I'm living in UK and WOULD LOVE that. It's so hard watch online.
joan: i meant the crustacean dear..
yetta: she's my daawwtah.. lmaao!!! i cant...
" you think after all this anyone would be in the mood for theirs little red potatoes?" 😂 😂 😂
"Isn't that delightful?" 😂😂
I spent years living next to the studio where Babe was made. Funnily enough, I never saw a talking pig going in or out. Must have been at home learning those lines :)
🤣🤣🤣
Well i heard the pig had a room and board in the studio
I love how Nanny Fran always goes to hitting any guy near her when things upset her. LOL!!! Especially Mr. Sheffield. 😂
Why can’t I find a family like this? 😂
Next Xmas you can come to mine...There are usually conversations like this 🤣😂 I love my family!!♥️❤
Crashing Comet oh no. Not true. They exist ... this is basically every NY Jewish family.

“Boy, could I tell you stories about this one... sure, I made them up but they’d knock your socks off!”
One of the best shows ever, the jokes are still hilarious
I like how Fran and Max's mother wear the same dress
Step-mother... Fran was Max 'nanny... And she was His father's secretary... Both father & son with similar taste of women.. hehe
Isn't. That. Delightful 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣
The best part 🤣🤣🤣
The nanny used to always dress so amazing all her outfits was on point
in real life this could be awkward situation.. but in comedy aspect this is brilliant!!
Max: ''Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you, Father, but I hired Miss. Fine purely for her extensive experience in childcare.''
Niles, turns around.
Grandma Yetta is a delight😍
Joan Collins is an exquisite creature of taste and beauty, God bless 🙏 💖 ❤
