I love this show, it’s my favorite 90s sitcom! Yes, I loved it more than Friends and I already didn’t like Seinfeld! This show is amazing and timeless! ... But that jab about Chappaquiddick....

@@Oir69 Yes, it was. In the early-90s Central Park (and most of NYC for that matter) was a very, very dangerous place to be at nighttime. In part, that's why the joke is funny: because it shows Fran naively missing the point of Mr. Sheffield's practice sentence, while still displaying her street-smarts.

I sounded like the time when I saw Carol Burnet singing the song "Feelings" as she played Eunice in the Mama's Familiy skit on the Carol Burnet Show as that song was so corney, I thought that she made it up when singing it. Plus the scene with "Went with the wind" when Carol Burnet came down the stair case with the curtain rod dress.

I always found season 1 and 2 were the funniest seasons. I like the other ones too but I always felt like the comedy seemed more natural and didn't try too hard in the earlier seasons.

The fun thing is, British people don't pronounce "r" before a consonnant either. I'd say Fran's "r" from the New Yorkern accent is not that different. It just acts as a vowel-elongator.
