- My Daddy Long Legs (私のあしながおじさん Watashi No Ashinaga Ojisan?) is a 1990 Japanese anime television series based on the novel Daddy-Long-Legs written by Jean Webster. The show was part of the container World Masterpiece Theater produced by Nippon Animation studios and was awarded the Excellent Movie Award for Television by the Japanese Agency of Cultural Affairs for Children in 1990.
Webster's story had been adapted into anime previously by Tatsunoko Productions in 1979 with the TV special Ashinaga Ojisan, which was directed by Masakazu Higuchi. The aforementioned special was dubbed in English and released in the US and is otherwise unrelated to this television series.
I guess this episode is the most emotional for me, Let's go with when she was giving her speech particularly saying thanks first to few people who really loves her - Julia and Sallie, the old sloan-san, Sensei, etc. Saying thank you to people who made her life bloom in a perfect season. I could imagine that scenery - the buildings, the students, the teachers, the hallways, the stairways, the phone calls, the letters, and her past. We had similar past, but Life must go on. Saying goodbye to your classmates while walking away, uhhhhh I know how hard that was for her. Great job for uploading this whoever you are, you're the best!!!

didn't judy realized that john smith and jervis pendleton had the same penmanship? just thinking :)
She only got one letter from Jon, maybe he fake it that time
Imo I don't feel that the era is the problem, it's about being confident and believing in influencing others. It's a way of thinking that Judy had to obtain, but she was already influenced by society's way of thinking. If she believed in influencing others and stayed positive, she never had to lie (keep it hidden) about her background in the first place. Not everyone is brought up the same way, and that is nothing to be ashamed of. Her background isn't who she is, it is part of who she is. Her past only made her stronger. It doesn't matter if people are fools and don't understand. People may never understand. If she truly believed in possibilities, she never had to go thru so much pain. But I guess maybe she wanted to pretend to be someone else for a little while.....hmmm....
u r so brave judy.
I cried .....
I really love this!
