This was my favourite cartoon, I can never forget how much joy it brought to my childhood days. I learnt this trick from here 1:02:46 and I keep showing this to kids even today. I always wished to have such warm and loving people in my life like Heidi had. The friendship between Clara and Heidi, taught me the power of love that can heal everyone. Yes, I agree. This version is the most like how I imagined it from the book which I just finished reading. It is faithful to the story both in script and in spirit. The 1968 film was beautiful but a little hollow to me in that it felt like it was playing out tired commercial film conventions and the Heidi character was nothing like the one from the book. She looked completely bored in the mountains for quite a while before her tune changed. The original Heidi immediately found her true self and happiness at first sight.

A remarkable cartoon movie that even more than a hundred times I won't get bored to watch it over and over again. Simply because it's entire story reminds me of the little girl who always finds this world beautiful despite of how it shows her that she don't belong because her late grandfather is the ear to hear her, the hands to remind her that she will never be alone, the feet to walk with her. Thanks for posting Heidi Story. Got some fond mémoires like you all. But Heidi was one of the few anime, we were allowed to watch, i asked my mother why. She finally explained that when she was a little girl, she worked as sheep keeper to help her family, we couldn't believe it. Since then we bond with our mother, considéred how much brave she was to educate and look for succes in her life to settle down in privilège conditions. So i Always see my mother childhood in Heidi story and how much she deserve her good life now.

My mom would read books to me before bed as a kid and Heidi was one of them and of course it became and is one of my most favorite books ever.
