    The feel of stability that this bike gives off-road is incredible. You feel the weight of the machine but not in a negative way. It feels like it pushes through no matter what.

      Just came across this years later, but while the rider clearly knows what they're doing, don't sell yourself short. These are much more planted bikes in the rough than the 1150. Take it from a guy that rode the GDR on an 1100. Night and day.

    Amaizing ! I have the standard size of 1,75 and wonder if I should not take the low suspensions option for my new R 1200 GS ADV. What would be your suggestion. Kind regards. Jean-Pierre

    • @BikeRambler
      @BikeRambler 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends how tall you are I reckon. If you're too short for the full height then it's not really an option. There is a middle ground where you are medium height, and can touch the ground but it's a bit difficult - I'd say stay with shorter suspension, because offroad you find lumps and things, or even loose gravel/dirt, that means that just putting a toe down isn't enough.
      And remember the new R1200GS has active suspension, so you can set it for 2 people and bags and it'll raise itself up.

    Hello Isaac, from Australia
    big fan of your video's you are truly a madman ( albeit a controlled one!) on that GS. I've just bought an R1200 GSA Adventure LC. Have you considered upgrading to the wasser boxer?
    Given your time on the previous Beema I'd be very interested in your comparison review. I also Like the fact you show your very infrequent off's even though you are so experienced on that bike, you show people less experienced that even good riders still come off and also get stuck in mud!!
    Ride safe and keep the video's coming!!

    • @isaacfeliu
      @isaacfeliu  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Black Hawk Hey Black!! Thanks for your kind words! :) :)
      About the LC... i would love to ride one if someone buys me one! :D :D :D But as it is a very expensive bike (like mine), I like better use mine until it dies befor buying a new one. ;) ;)
      The LC model IMHO has some benefits and some drawbacks... Engine is more powerfull, weight distribution is a bit better, better stock shocks, way better clutch position... but... more things can be broken (radiators, water pump, electronics...), you can't fit a 18" rear wheel, aluminium tank...
      It is an awesome bike anyway!!! ;) ;) ;)

    Love the style you ride! I am torn between getting GSA Rallye or GS Rallye and tended to get GS because I had thought the GSA is seriously handicapped offload until I saw your videos. Do you think much difference for you to ride a GS or a GSA on the road you are showing here? Thanks.

    • @isaacfeliu
      @isaacfeliu  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kam Hon Leung on the past e
      The gsa was better because of the higher suspension. Now, the difference between the rally and the gsa is just the bigger tank on the gsa. So there's not a big diff between them. ;)

    • @kamhonleung5524
      @kamhonleung5524 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isaac Feliu thank you for your kind reply. In your opinion, is the new GSA still a better buy? Thanks again.

    • @isaacfeliu
      @isaacfeliu  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kam Hon Leung it depends mostly on your intended usage. For more offroad: get the rally, but if you plan to ride on the pavement also, the gsa is a better package imho :)

    • @kamhonleung5524
      @kamhonleung5524 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isaac Feliu once again thank you so much for the reply. Is there anything the new GSA can't do on off road compared to GS Rallye? Also would you be kind enough to add me on Facebook under the name Flymo Lockheed? Thanks.

    • @isaacfeliu
      @isaacfeliu  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kam Hon Leung they are both capable of doing the same stuff, it depends much more on the rider than the bike. :P

    • @isaacfeliu

      Buenas Ferran, esperaba un comentario como este viniendo de ti. ;) Sólo aclarar que no intento demostrar nada. Tan solo intento disfrutar haciendo lo que me gusta con mi moto. La precepción de velocidades y riesgos es muy subjetivo. Yo sinceramente espero no tener nunca un susto muy gordo, de momento no me ha ido mal, aunque ciertamente estoy expuesto a sufrir un accidente, como todos los que vamos en moto. ;) ;) Salut!!

      Ferran Trip Jaja! no digo que no hagas más comentarios! Pero si que me esperaba uno tuyo en ese tono, que ya nos vamos conociendo! :D :D Lo que sí tengo claro es que la evaluación de riesgos sobre una moto (o sobre un coche también) es algo muy subjetivo y relativo. Lo que para unos es ir demasiado rapido para otros es incluso ir demasiado lento. Seguro que si Marc Coma mira este video tiene la sensación que voy de paseo! ;) Gaaaaas!

    Question Is that standard suspension?

    • @isaacfeliu
      @isaacfeliu  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Of course not! There is no way I can ride like this with stock suspension. I have (and love) a pair of TFX Suspension setup. And they work awesomely well, as you can se. ;)

    Bueno, si fuera un circuito privado o cerrado, pues bien. Jugarse uno el pellejo es cuestión propria. Pero al ver otro vehículo parado en la pista, me pregunto: y si hubieran ninos, scouts, o gente simplemente dando un paseo?
    Ahora, también es verdad que el vídeo en gopro siempre parece uno ir mas rápido que en realidad.

    • @isaacfeliu
      @isaacfeliu  10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Antonio, este tipo de comentario ya lo he respondido en muchas ocasiones en muchos otros videos... Pero no me cuesta volver a responder: Llevo muchos, muchos kms de campo con la GS, y con las distintas motos de enduro, y con alguna que otra moto no apta para hacer campo a priori, como mi querida yamaha fazer, y nunca, nunca, nunca he tenido ningun percance con ningun otro usuario de la via, ni he estado a punto de tener ninguno. En los videos se ve una perspectiva determinada, que no se corresponde con la realidad, con lo que el piloto (en este caso: yo) realmente esta viendo y sintiendo. Como trabajan las suspensiones, cuanto grip realmente tengo en mi poder, que tipo de pista es, que escapatorias tengo en caso de imprevisto, que hora del dia es, cuanta gente he encontrado en ruta, si estoy cerca o no de poblacion o pista de facil acceso, la visibilidad que he tenido anteriormente de esa porcion de pista desde un punto anterior, etc.... todo eso conforman las sensaciones que tengo cuando estoy pilotando la moto, y la gopro solo capta una porcion muy pequeña. Obviamente siempre puedo tener un percance, nadie esta libre de esta posibilidad, pero la experiencia acumulada me indica que tengo muy claro que margen de seguridad me estoy dejando al trazar cada curva. ;) ;) Un saludo!

    @Isaac: what ESA, riding mode and ABS setting you set for such style of riding? Thanks!

    • @isaacfeliu
      @isaacfeliu  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No ESA on this bike, just good TFX shocks. About ABS: always 100% disconnected when going to ride offroad. ;)
