I love the Starter rebuild. My first car was a 1967 Buick skylark---the starter was identical to a Chevy except for the bolt pattern on the nose cone---and the price! $60 for the Buick vs $20 for the Chevy. The parts guy looked at me funny when I turned in my Greasy-ass core with a brand new nose cone!
There’s a guy up in Canada who needs those front Daisy mags. He’s running some Chinese pizza cutters at the moment 😉 Rich guy leaves cars in other countries. I hear he will do floorpan work cheap.😉
I also was impressed with that. Also the clearance between the trailers fenders and the gastank/ steps of top kick once in position for going down the road was SLIM! But it worked!!
Years ago all the auto parts stores sold parts to rebuild or repair your starter they sold the brushes the bushings the Bendix nowadays everything is disposable that's a damn shame one thing for sure General Motors is great for interchangeability
Great episode. yeah I been havin trouble with starter and alternators here the local chains either don't have them or they last a month. recently during a conversation at our local cruise I found there is a local fella 3rd generation rebuilder that stocks everything. and if he don't have it he will turn it around in 24 hrs. great old place has pics of race cars on the wall from the 70s and 80s has a smell of old grease. I knew that was the place that will for ever do my starters and alts. anyway stupid store just wanted to share
I grew up in Georgia. Raced at the Dallas drag strip and did everything with my old red mustang and stereo shows at stone mountain etc with my little Honda. I swear but can't remember when or where but I've hung out with David. Smart guy .
You should invite DD Speed Shop Dan over and turn that 4 door into a 2 door, in a collab video, and if you dont want to build it after or sell it maybe send it to a highschool body shop or the like, I say this cause you mentioned it being a parts car. Imagine if you got to work on a 55 chev when you were in highschool. I love your builds and enthusiasim for the hobby
Hey mister 12volt dave .i really have mad props for uan cotten im so happy that u guys didn't get screwed on motor trend get the show u guys totally deserve it ur part of that genuine people on tv so i definitely have tremendous amount of respect respect for u an cott i truly do reslly enjoy watching u been running threw life since covid pretty much lost everything bit hey im alive right lol but if it wasn't for uan cott fmike cleetus id probably would have not be here so i give all yhe all the thanjs i possibly can as soon as i get back on my feet oll get merchandise to support u guys so let me just say please don't change who you are ... be safe an burn sd much rubberas u can my friend again thank you for being gento yourself an ur fans
I was just thinking about you the other day while I was watching one of finnegans videos ,for some reason my TH-cam algorithm hasn’t pulled your channel so I didn’t know you had one but now that I have your info I’m already following your channel and glad that you are still doing content,I really enjoyed the 57 Chevy that you did right before parting way with finnegan so best of luck and I’ll be watching your channel ✌️
Dave, You're planning on reverting the arches on your '55 (?) back to stock (Not the parts car.). Why ? It looks great with the squared-off arches that it has now ! It really does make it stand out from the crowd. And leaving it as is would save you time and work. There's also the matter of the ARE 200Ss which look great; if you don't want 'em, try Freiburger for his Dodge Rumble Bee. But, it's your car so do with it what you will.
I thought the exact same thing when he talked about turning the quarter panels back to stock. They look WAY cooler the way they are on the car now. I think changing them would be a mistake but it's not my car (unfortunately) .
I’ve used those metal brushes before & was by bristles flying off so often that I’ve stopped using them. Certainly risky to use without safety glasses or shield.
even though I'm sick if I had the room or work space since the wife got it as her she shed for wood working. I would love to learn welding and just build rusty crap thats cool again because I can do cosmetics but not welding or know motors to much. but its great that you and your friends have fun doing it
The recirculating pump on those parts cleaners will make a bit of heat all by themself. I worked in a shop for a while and one of the guys would turn it on first thing in the morning when it was cold out.
I hope you keep those american 200 S wheels on the 55 Great looking wheels and getting hard to find originals nowadays. The new ones have a different lip on them
Dave, the question that I'm asking is ? The camera dirt track yall used in some of the episodes, where did yall aquire. It from. I'm asking because it looks like the won we raced up at Lancaster Speedway years ago. It belonged to Mike Lacy junk yard in Rock Hill SC.same color and number we ran.
Dan just rescued a 57 in way worse condition, than your parts car. Save them both and maybe park one up north so you have transportation when you go annoy Dan for a week in Canada sometime LOL!
12 volt, i love your content finnagans garage just ain't the same with you and cotten not being there his content is starting to get boring and i am not a fan of boat racing. just saying about finnagins garage, you on the other hand you are building cars thats what i love to see.
There is great satisfaction in restoring automotive parts. It is a art we are losing. I know first hand. I build the older transmissions.
In. My humble opinion tri fives are one of the most iconic vehicles ever made
I like how you bring it in at night. I have to bring them in while the Wife is at work 😎
Cool as heck you got a pair of 55s back. You know you gotta keep em both alive!
I love the Starter rebuild. My first car was a 1967 Buick skylark---the starter was identical to a Chevy except for the bolt pattern on the nose cone---and the price! $60 for the Buick vs $20 for the Chevy. Morning Dave.... Just watched you with Clay and Cotton. ...lol. Congrat's on the new show.
There’s a guy up in Canada who needs those front Daisy mags.
He’s running some Chinese pizza cutters at the moment 😉
Rich guy leaves cars in other countries.
I hear he will do floorpan work cheap.😉
yup- I agree !! Dans front wheels ha e gotta Go !! they are hideous!!😂
@@ThomasSmith-hh8fpYeah but he added the Amazon rice burner wing on the back so your eyes look away from those cheap ass looking front wheels
I want a 55 so bad and you got tri fives everywhere! Must be nice! Congrats on getting two more. Can’t wait to see a build video.
Ive had a few of those old 55s. Love em. Good content. Thanks
Heck yeah looking forward to seeing you work on the 55
Dude! Just seen the Talon episode. I love it! Took me back to 90s. You guys are awesome. Keep it up!
Dude!!! Great video!!! Good trade!!!✌️
Can't wait to see you back on your channel doing your own builds again. You have alot of cool projects to work on
I didn't think those trailer fenders would be able to handle the weight. Wow. I'm glad to see you get back your 55.
I also was impressed with that. Also the clearance between the trailers fenders and the gastank/ steps of top kick once in position for going down the road was SLIM! But it worked!!
I freakin love this channel. It's so relatable for most hot Rodders. Thanks for sharing. Take Care!!!
Years ago all the auto parts stores sold parts to rebuild or repair your starter they sold the brushes the bushings the Bendix nowadays everything is disposable that's a damn shame one thing for sure General Motors is great for interchangeability
Mr. B. Here ! 🍸👀😎👍. So you got your ( car ) build it to what makes you happy ! 👏👏👏👏
Man, I love this channel. I appreciate the work you guys do, and the fun you have doing it.
Dave,
love the F1 Ford and the junk that you wrench on!
Hell yeah can’t wait to see you get the 55 running save another one for Dickie always wanted a 55 Chevy My first car was a 57 Chevy.
I have to admit, the modified rear wheel well openings on the 55 actually look kind of cool.
Watched you and Cotton hanging it out Tuesday night. Great fun had by all. 💤💤💤💤💤rooom!!!!

You have an awesome place there with a good size shop.
Love the 55 being back! Be fun to see what you do with it!!
I can’t wait to cruzin the coast to see y’all again. I hope Westley brings the barbecue pit again.

That Harbor Freight gantry was pretty cool! I hadn't seen one assembled before. Glad you got your 55 back!👍
I like 55 post cars and would love to have a 67 chevelle post , it's my dream car . Good luck with your builds
I always thought Finnegan was the sketchy one. Now I know the truth 😂.
Cool as it gets , save as many as you can !!
Needs a straight axle and a 4 speed!
Your Canadian counterpart would like speak with you LOL
Best trade every! 👍🇨🇦
I would definitely order patch panels. Less work and still have one to sell or build.
I would have made that trade all day long lol. Those trailer fenders are some beast! Can’t wait to see your plan for these two cars.
I’ll take it off your hands right now, I am looking for my first 55 Chevy parts car,, how much, thanks BigAl California.❤
Awesome trade 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I like the Goes Like Hell in the background
C50 all the way! I have the same dilemma as you. 3 C50's, and a 95 Topkick that's been Suburbanized.

Good morning brother.
Hey Dave, the bottom ball joint is the load carrying joint, on this type of suspension
even though I'm sick if I had the room or work space since the wife got it as her she shed for wood working. I would love to learn welding and just build rusty crap thats cool again because I can do cosmetics but not welding or know motors to much. but its great that you and your friends have fun doing it
Great video and interesting trade.
55 Chevy 2 door
ALL THE WAY .... 👌
If see 1 more 57 I'll scream .. unless it's factory stock & fuel injected.
Go newborn love them tri fives
Subscribed just because I saw the glh in the background, and hoping you have content on it.
Love those American 200s wheels
Sell it to dd speed shop😂
Yes, that's what he needs another tri-five
It's in to nice of shape for dan😂
There’s too much left for Dan
Good trade, I really the louvered hood on the ‘55!
I see Dan's Nova hiding..Can't believe that heap made it here to Biloxi 😆
Sweet rides
Maaan the louvered hood is COOL
That's a good thought about the second car as a drag car. If you're looking to do a tube chassis and a fiberglass nose, you've got a good start 🤘🤘🤘
The recirculating pump on those parts cleaners will make a bit of heat all by themself. I worked in a shop for a while and one of the guys would turn it on first thing in the morning when it was cold out.
I think you should save both of those 55’s!!!
Good save on the starter!! Sometimes that’s what it takes!!
Man I wish I could find a clean four door!!
I've done my starter on my 70GMC 6500 from other starters now I could drive down the road with just the starter
you have my dream car. so cool. i wish i could help you on it.....
Nothing wrong with two 55 👍👍
On the Cummins, watch out for how the intake heater cable connection can fail and drop pieces into the intake leading to valve disaster.
Look like a job for DD Speed Shop
The louvered hood is 👌🏻
You should sell me the parts 55 lol
Look forward to seeing what you build out of all that!
Dan would get Both of them Fixed Built n Running 😆 😆
See There is Your Sign in the window reflection from the Camera in the back ground 😆 😆 DDSPEEDSHOP on the Nova 😆
Call Dan and Dani be a good project for when Dan and Dani visit this year
He already has one. 😮probably needs another one though. 😅
Good trade Dave !
More on the GLH please!!!
i rebuild and repair starter alternator power steering pumps generators all .
,people are so amazed lol.
I hope you keep those american 200 S wheels on the 55 Great looking wheels and getting hard to find originals nowadays. The new ones have a different lip on them
I hear Advance Automotive have Topkick starters.
Have you seen what Dan has done with a 57 he rescued from the grave? Total rebuild 🇨🇦
It would be cool if u could do something with both of those 55
I know your busy but consider installing all window glass to reduce weathering on the insides of the 55's
That thing needs nothing more than primer and a mail box scoop
I rebuild my old starters all the time. You can even turn around the fork to the bendix drive to get more life out of it.
saw a dd speed shop in reflection in window
Can’t wait to see the build. Does Chase have a you tube channel? Would love to see what he did to the mustang.
Awesome. But between you and D.d. ain't guna be any left for us common folk. Lol
Saw Dans Chevy 2 in background 😂😂❤❤
55s are the best👍🏻dont let Dan 4door swap it😂
anyone on here use the Stock 3 speeds from these Tri Fives??? got one I would love to part with cheap
I can see some red window tint on the car with the mag wheels
Nice
Nice trans AM what year is it
Hey dude that GLH in the background needs to be some future content!
I’m guessing that and the Postal Jeep might be on Faster.
Don't cut up the parts car, it looks like a good builder!
Dan just rescued a 57 in way worse condition, than your parts car. Save them both and maybe park one up north so you have transportation when you go annoy Dan for a week in Canada sometime LOL!
Good times.
Good trade
12 volt, i love your content finnagans garage just ain't the same with you and cotten not being there his content is starting to get boring and i am not a fan of boat racing. just saying about finnagins garage, you on the other hand you are building cars thats what i love to see.
I have that same starter on my 69 GMC 2500
4years now however I grew up in Indiana
Both those cars a buildable. Next time Dan is down, give him the other if you don't want it.
