Description: Providence & Worcester NH-1 was tasked to bring two gondolas for RED Technologies to Middletown. To my surprise was the motive power assigned for this job being Three B39-8’s, Two C40-8’s, and Connecticut Southern’s SD40-2 for a total of six locomotives (30 axles) to move two cars. The reason why is a mystery but I figured it would be an interesting consist to chase. I started off in Wallingford after seeing them depart Cedar Hill Yard and then made my way up through Durham, Middlefield, & Rockfall to reach Middletown. The three 6 axle locos were left on the main to be refueled while the three B39’s take the two gondolas to Berlin Yard. After some switching, they bring out one coil car bound for New Haven and at the same time, CT-1 (not in video) arrived from Rocky Hill with a Boxcar also bound for New Haven. NH-1 assembled their train and made their way back south with two cars once again and all six locomotives. I had errands in the afternoon so I was only able to chase them down to Trackside Deli in Rockfall. ------------------- Date: February 27, 2023 Rail Line: Providence & Worcester Middletown Branch & Berlin Branch Location: Wallingford->Middletown, CT ------------------- Like what you see? Nice video! I've been interested in their operations due to the large use of old GE's and since i'm going to be in the area next week, I was wondering if you had any tips for getting trains in that area, especially with NR-2 at night in New London.

NR-2 will show up in New London typically around 10pm-12am westbound and will return east around 1-3am.
Thank you!
