    It says active railroad no trespassing, so what kind of example is the reporter setting walking on the tracks?

    Just pay attention

  • @JawTooth

    People just want more information? What else do you need? Before you cross the railroad tracks you stop if a train is coming. How hard is that?

    So if the fine folks of Weathersfield don't pay enough attention to the trains and crossing signals what about police cars and red lights?

    Is that part of the old Maybrook freight line which once ran from Devon CT on the mainline to the New Haven's westernmost freight yard in Maybrook NY? If so, there's only so much they can reopen because a lot of it has been converted to a rail/trail now.

    I live in New Jersey and at just about every rail crossing, (some are Barely used), there are red flashing lights on the side and even over head. Some have gates. Really surprising this isn’t standard practice in every state, primarily the East coast states.

    Come on, it's not like the train is going to sneak through the alley ways....where ever there's tracks be vigilant.

    Connecticut Southern is the RR operator.

    I work for Conner rail there’s plenty of warning horns lots and lots of horns. The Norfolk and Southern to 10 miles an hour bless those boys horns and that’s how I feel about it you cannot stop progress they tried but it’s beyond 1879 that’s when the original railroad was laid. They’ll be coming around this part and I have no complaints about it.

    Now a few years later and the trains are not an issue, try not to be such worry warts since the train track are pretty much older that everyone living there. Cheers all.

    Clearly a No Trespassing Sign there by the depot? And this guy is giving a news report while walking on them! What an idiot! People should keep an opened mind about railroad tracks, as long as they are in place there’s always potential that abandoned tracks can come back from the dead and back into operation!

  • @trainsinkansas576
    @trainsinkansas576 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    People have become stupid. If your walking down the track and a train is coming you get off the tracks. Trains are cool.

    I can't believe how entitled people think they are. If stop signs are installed, do they not know they are required to stop. The stupidity astounds me....quality of life...WTF...so dumb.

    Truly amazing. At one time people would be happy to know that there are trains serving businesses; businesses equal jobs. And do make sure that you interview the mom with the baby to suggest the grave, horrifying danger that they are in.
    This just appeared on recommended videos. How many trains have come through? What’s the body count? How many people have needed counselling for the loud train horns? After one year there should be plenty of mayhem. Give.

    Trains are safer than the trucks that will be replaced, more fuel efficient as well

  • @charles.j.mandon5602

    I realize this is a few years old , BUT ,How come these people could,nt just be careful and slow down when approaching a rail crossing , look both ways ,and if theres no train coming ,then go? but if there is a train coming , then they can stop , just like all of us do ?

  • @juanmatos6796
    @juanmatos6796 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    If the trains are going to be coming through those Crossings they need to put up the lights the gates and the bells so that way when they activate people will know that there are trains coming

    • @scibust
      @scibust 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats a really expensive solution. The line has trains moving at 10 mph about once a week, yet a installation of each crossing can cost several thousand dollars, seems pretty overkill to me.

    Notice they are trying to blame the train for the potential inattention and stupidity of drivers.

    Reactivating the rails includes installing gates at all intersections. It's 2024 now and Connecticuts economy is terrible still. So much for the 2019 speculations

    Take the story with a grain of salt. It would be a short TV segment if everyone welcomed the railroad. The news Producer *has* to find someone with a dissenting opinion. That's all.
