@@tylerjohnson2080 Pretty sure you'll be fine with tire noise if you drive Lexus are known to be comfortable when it comes to noise. I've driven one granted it wasn't a v8 but it was pretty quiet on most roads. With the v8 I would assume you want to hear the noise of the roaring v8 though.

How did you get over the interior? I drove a 350 f sport recently and not only was the interior small, it was so boring and the steering wheel…good grief.
One of the last modern made rwd sedans with a V8. When this gets phased out for smaller displacement/force induction from the factory, these are gonna be at a premium on the used market no doubt.
Charlie, Lexus took a giant leap bringing back the V8 to the IS, I just wish they had completed the transformation with a manual option. Please don't think of yourself as a 'sub' for The Topher Channel but rather, consider yourself the Sixth Man.
I disagree, I think he should definitely be a sub for Topher. He does quite a good job! He’s getting better and better so time will tell! And no way would Lexus make this in a manual, sales wouldn’t be there and that’s not their clientele. Would be stupid of Lexus especially with this car being a limited run for a year or 2. Ppl always say they would buy if they made it in a manual and it’s clearly not the case.

I test drove an IS350 yesterday, and honestly I think I would be happy with one. However, this may very well be the last time I'll ever be able to buy a V8 sedan like this, and I just won't be happy to settle for anything less than the V8. I must have one! Update: I have one now!
Now I’m imagining this on the winding roads of the Appalachians and how it would do screaming across the highways of Texas or Florida. I could absolutely see this thing cruising down US 1 to Key West or easily holding 80-100mph on a long distance roadtrip between states.
The review I've been waiting for!!! I think this would be the perfect daily driver for me. I definitely would be interested in hearing it with an exhaust.

I can't wait till these hit the used market. Always been too scared to get a c63 or m3 because of reliability and I think this would be a great middle ground, less performance but will last a whole lot longer and wont cost me more than rent on maintenance.
I’m only 20 and just bought a 2009 es 350 with 31k miles this year plan on driving that to the ground then buying this is500 used in 5-10 years I love this car and hopefully I can get like a 2024 one or something that might be a little nicer
You could “beat on it” but after some cooling and brake modifications. Car And Driver did take this out to VIR and found out that the brakes need better pads and the transmission cooler, despite actually having one, was not up to the task of track use and they ended up with having a gear lockout after 5/6 laps
This isn’t a full F model so that doesn’t surprise me. It’s a high priced street car that will mostly be purchased by an older population that won’t be revving it out much and will likely just be putting around on the streets.
This car is so under appreciated and comparing it to the latest and greatest the Germans are making doesn’t do it justice. Like who cares you can summon it with your phone… it’s got a NA V8 😅

I've never liked lexus I have always thought they were just over priced toyotas but since I have been working at a toyota dealership in the service department we get some lexus in from time to time and if I do an alignment on one I have to test drive it after and now I am really thinking about working at a lexus dealership and buying myself a lexus these cars are so much fun to drive and are so nice the part that I love the most about them is when you put them in sport mode you know it the rpms rise to stay in the power band and they will set you back in your seat. I would be happy with just a 2014 350is.
Lol so many people who don't own or have experience with toyota or lexus feel this way. Thats all they have to knock lexus. Toyota is already has very high standards, lexus just takes it up a few notches.
As an owner of a 2023 this is one few reviews that accurately represents this car, maybe its transmission is only 98% as good as a zf or its steering is 9/10s as good as the best of the competition, but any resonable person will understand thats its very, very, very minor shortcomings are more than made up for by its awesome strengths

Picked up my IS 500 Premium (USB/Red Interior) last Friday. I concur with absolutely everything you guys have said about this car. If anyone out there is on the fence, GET IT if you can!
It's worth noting that the IS500 does not have a transmission cooler nor engine oil cooler. So, maybe not the best car to take to the track. Definitely a good daily though.
The V8 needs more sound. The Mustang V8 Engine, despite the same displacement, has more torque. The Mach 1 for example makes 480 hp and 420 ft/lb of torque. When you look at the transmission in the Mustang, the 10 speed just shifts faster.
Awesome car & a huge Lexus fan here! My first Lexus was a 2017 IS200t F-Sport in that same color combo that I owned for a couple of years & replaced it with a white on red 2016 GS350 F-Sport that I just bought last year which has been an incredible car for the price I paid ($31k with 41k miles), but would love to upgrade to that V8 if I were to buy a new car now in that price range.
NA engines all the way! It sounds so crisp and...natural. I would definitely consider buying this used down the line. Only gripe is the MPG unfortunately, but I suppose that's not much of a deal breaker when buying a performance car
You are living a miserable life if you’re always worried about fuel economy. I always drive my isF however i feel and just fill it when it need fuel. As soon as i stopped trying to save fuel with everything the amount of fun i had was alot more

RCF is a proper F car so it has a long list of chassis, suspension and other track oriented bits that the IS500 does not have. It is basically an IS500 with the RCF V8 in it. The RCF is dignoficatly stiffer since Lexus made the IS500 for street driving
From what I understand, the transmission, hardware-wise, is identical to what's in the F, and I don't know why they'd mess with the programming. Having driven the F myself once, I will say it was more aggressive in person than how it seemed on video - it even chirped the tires going into second gear.
Hardware is the same(trans and engine) tuning is slightly different. Im sure a transmisión tune can make it match the rcf. is500 trans can handle it(has a transmission cooler)
@@Vmart_16 LC500 does not have a transmission cooler as it was designed for the LS500 originally, but the RCF has it since it was meant for lapping around the track. The IS500 received the same transmission as the RCF so it has the cooler behind the front grille. Hardware is the same. However, the software tuning is different on the RCF. Also, the IS500 does not have the oil cooler RCF has.
I find it hilarious when people try to compare the Acura type S to this this is hands-down the best Japanese sedan money can buy right now well that’s until lexus releases something more powerful at some point

As a Charger owner I am a huge advocate for V8’s being stuffed in sedans. The IS500 is super cool, I love it!
I loved how Volvo did it with the s80 in 2006 but they don’t used them anymore unfortunately.
