Thank you to David who spoke out and for BBC for picking up his story. I can't imagine how many others suffer in silence. I read his story a few months ago and it broke my heart how insensitive people were towards him...there's enough pain in the world as it is without people adding to it with their insensitivity.

It takes a lot of strength to do what you have done as I have dealt with a lot of mental health problems but now I have found the strength to fight back as it is a life time struggle. Thank you for sharing .
Depression isn't always because your sad. It can be your thought patterns or even the fact that you see the world as it really is so feel you don't belong. This is why rich people get suicidal - once they realise that happiness comes from within and nothing else really matters

It can definitely be caused or exacerbated by head trauma. And collisions happen in football too.
