- Overview development progress the new bypass connecting Lebuhraya Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu directly to Bandar Baru Ayer Itam in Penang.

New bypass from Ayer Itam to Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong EU
It is expected to cut travelling time for 40 minutes to 5 minutes during peak hours and it is toll free
This bypass total length of 5.7km
Total distance 5.7km
Grade 2.4km
Elevated 3.3km
This new bypass consist of 4 interchanges comprise Jalan Thean Teik, Jalan Bukit Gambir, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong EU

the air itam looks significantly progressing with the construction of the concrete columns for the flyover using launching girders in the future. while on the light city side, it looks like the flyover is about to be built into the marine police quarters compound and also the shaping up of its convention centre. it's great to see the completion of the new sunshine central mall featuring the new 11-hall gsc cinema at 7:15.
You should also capture Penang's highest elevated road from Paya Terubong to Balik Pulau...

The coastal highway at the approach to the first bridge is already congested at peak hours every day, particularly on Fridays and before holidays. Congestion is primarily caused by traffic cutting from left to right to the traffic lane to the first bridge, or vice versa. Suggest considering a re-design of the merging system as a whole. Otherwise, the bottleneck problem will get even worse.
