$900 wasted on a broken zip tie and $90K on getting it removed in a hospital sounds like payment for being stupid And best/worst of all, it's probably some overpaid CEO's kid
if you use an actual ziptie yes, thats dangerous. but those 900$ ziptie bracelets have a different opening and closing mechanism most likely. they could also be made out of metal but who knows. I dont think theres any danger except for your wallet in the 900$ bracelet

FYI Robin: type II diabetes isn’t always about weight either. My friend who was just diagnosed literally runs marathons every month. I was a teenager when I was diagnosed. I’m the smallest person and until a couple years ago the only diabetic in my immediate family. Besides, even for people whose weight is part of their contributing factors, just losing weight doesn’t usually reverse the issue. It’s kind of a problem how much people are willing to dismiss the needs of Type IIs on the idea that they just “did it to themselves” or could just “lose weight.” That attitude prevents a lot of diabetics of all sizes and types (incl gestational) from getting the care they need. Just a friendly reminder! Love your videos!
Also contrary to the very popular belief, is that starvation can cause it! Famines and EDs are big risk factors, which is probably the reason my ana-prone family is full of prediabetics.
I have a relative, skinny as a stick and has type 2 so yeah just adding more evidence that diabetes doesn't equate to fat which a lot of people mistakenly think.
We don't know exactly what causes it. Weight and inactivity are risk factors but that just means they increase your risk for it not that they directly cause it. All we know for certain from what i can find is that something causes the pancreas to produce less insulin than is required so sugar builds up in the blood.
I was on debate team in high school. My mom was really poor, so I didn't have a suit, but I did have a nice, comfortable pair of shoes, grey corduroy slacks, a grey blazer, and a simple, purple blouse. I was very careful to ensure that everything fit the dress code and had no issues until, at one of the debates, I didn't win a single one of my arguments. That was REALLY unusual, because I was usually well-prepared and pretty quick-witted. Sure, I didn't win every debate, but I usually came out about 50/50. So, afterward, I walked up to one of the judges and asked her what I was doing wrong and if she had any advice. This absolute see-you-next-tuesday looks me up and down like she's disgusted by even being within 10 feet of me and says "Your arguments were fine, but you need to work on looking more..professional." "What do you mean? I fit the dress code, don't I?" "Well, yes, but you don't LOOK professional." "Ma'am, this is what I can afford." "Well, then maybe think about trying a different extracurricular." Y'all I walked out of that room FUMING. I had never wanted to deck a full-grown lady more in my whole life. After that meet, I stopped trying. I stayed on the team, because they needed me for diversity requirements and there were only a few competitions left. But, I dropped out of all but the Congressional Debate and pretty much only spoke when I had to.
I love the "I didn't ask for your opinion" line so much because, if you're putting out your thoughts on a public forum, you clearly DID ask for someone's opinion, just not explicitly. XD
A lot of employers are clueless about how their employees live. I worked in an office where I was the lowest paid employee because I didn't have a family, so the logic was I didn't need the money. Then, at Christmas, money was taken out of everyone's check, not asked if they could, to buy the boss Christmas gifts. Meantime we were told there was no bonus, and our holiday party was in the machine shop, and were Subway sandwiches. Then we were forced to stand there and watch the boss open his gifts. One of the many reasons I finally quit.
Where do you live? What country? And just so other people can avoid going for a job there, where did you work? I'm pretty sure in most countries it would be illegal to 1, pay you less than your coworkers for doing the same job, and 2, docking pay to buy the boss presents.
00:45 Ulysses S. Grant insisted a reluctant police officer write him a speeding ticket when said officer caught him speeding on his horse. Be like Grant. Reject the concept of Presidential Immunity.
I just love that a lot of the stuff we expect Presidents to do/not do stems from years of just people like Washington and Grant being extremely humble. Every president sets a precedence for future candidates.
On the burger thing: that's called food tampering and is ILLEGAL. If/When that person finds out her food had been tampered with, she has every right to sue.
I remember seeing this specific post a couple of years ago, and there were people in the comments claiming that vegans who've been vegans for a long time could also end up getting quite sick from eating meat again(don't know how true it is, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is) Edit: It was something about their digestion not being used to meat, and that apparently could end up making them sick
@nordichope7301 Yes, over time, your stomach gets use to the things you eat, that's how someone could be sensitive to hot stuff but slowly start to like it (that's how I was) and over time, as your stomach gets use to one thing, it will adjust to that type of food, and if you drastically change back, it can cause problems
@@nordichope7301this is actually 100% true, the longer you go without eating something the more likely your body is to reject it when you eat it again. So if you don’t eat meat for a few years than you’re probably gonna have a really bad time if you try eating it again.
@@BeetleDragon yeah I read a few years ago of someone who stopped eating hamburgers years before veganism was a big thing, think they went 10-12 years without McDonald's, and went to have some as it was the only place available at the time, and they couldn't stomach it at all
5:30 My husband has a similar story. He was in so much pain he was literally begging God for mercy and vomiting. Went to one emergency room, they saw him for five minutes, berated him for waiting so long(the pain kept going away, so he thought he was fine for a bit), and told him go home and drink water. $800 bill. They didn't even give him ibuprophen. So we went to the hospital across the street. They made him pee in a cup, said yup, that's a kidney stone, and immediately gave him morphine. His stone was just under what they consider too big to pass without intervention. We were sent home with three scripts for pain and to dilate the ureter. I'm never going to that first hospital again.
3:37 Dane here, just wanna say we had to boycott McDonalds when it first came to Denmark to raise the wage bc Denmark doesn’t have a minimum wage so McDonalds was free to do whatever, luckily the citizens (and companies that supply things for McDonalds) weren’t letting that happen so that’s why we get the big bucks
I told my mother once a long time ago: "I could easily make tons of money if I had no morals. There are idiots out there who will buy zip ties as braclets, I'm sure of it." Guess I have a link to send mother. No, it wasn't me. I swear.

"Humans don't typically kill animals with their teeth." Not with that attitude.
Fun Fact: Echo first appeared in her current state in Marvel comics way back in 1998! That's over 25 years ago! People who complain about "wokeness" in media are not complaining about it "being shoved in their face", they are complaining that things are being made for people who aren't exactly like them. As a male, I absolutely understand and appreciate the growth of female characters in comics. As a Hispanic, I appreciate the inclusion of Native American cultures into media. As a person who suffers from hearing loss, I appreciate the acknowledgement of deaf culture on hearing media. While there is not much scientific evidence that any of these cultures really make humans that different from one another besides socially, there is even less evidence for sticking our heads in the sand and pretending they don't exist.
Or the people who raged about X-Men 97 being woke (because Morph is non binary) like do you not realize that the ENTIRE POINT OF THE X-MEN is that they are an allegory for oppression, like its not woke its basic media literacy

It's also self-inflicted queer erasure. Sexual orientation not being a choice is a pillar of the LGBT+ community's defense against bigotry and discrimination; to say that bisexuals are straight people making the choice to be gay is seriously harmful rhetoric.
As a white bi guy, i left the community because of how badly i was treated for being white and bi, it was really painful you know? Going through rough family problems and i turn to the community because i wanted friends who'd like me for me, because "we're friendly and accepting of everyone!"

On the topic of diabetes, it gets incredibly frustrating that some people always link it to being overweight. It’s hereditary, and majority of people in my family that have it are actually pretty skinny and otherwise kept a healthy diet beforehand. Even if weight played a role in increasing the chances of developing diabetes, losing weight isn’t going to magically solve their problems. They need a consistent diet to maintain their BG (blood glucose) levels. Everyone on the planet does for that matter, regardless if they have it or not.

Sheep do too, and squirrels, and deer, and pandas. In fact we've actually only found about three or four species that are true _obligate_ herbivores, and surprise they're not doing so hot. Like the Sloth that gets so little energy from it's food, if it drops it's baby it can't afford the energy expenditure to climb down it's tree and go get it. And humans that go pure vegan constantly have to use supplements and protein shakes because they don't get enough from their diets to keep their bodies going and risk some pretty nasty medical conditions as a result. There are just as few obligate carnivores too. Turns out almost all life falls somewhere between those two extremes - very much like most things in life, actually.

Na if you wanna hear some shit about wages that'll blow your mind here: my wife, who is an RN with 6ish years experience (including working covid floor during the pandemic), she had an interview over at a pediatric clinic here in northern lower Michigan (autumn 2023). Nice little place but she was laughing when she got back to the car. They were hiring at $20/hr starting with $150 a month per child for health insurance ($450 monthly). As we headed home, we passed a McDonald's that was hiring. Not even a mile down the road right? Up on their billboard: "$22/hr and paid benefits". We got so pissed, she looked it up I don't remember well but in relation to the clinic the insurance from McDonald's was basically free. She got a good job elsewhere but that's what Registered Nurses are getting paid at clinic. So every time you cats bring your kids to a pediatric, remember those nurses are getting paid less than new hires flipping burgers.
@draalttom844 hmm how to handle you.... well managers start in the $30's here just looked it up. Next, assuming makes you look like an ass. Ever heard of cost of living? And depending on the specifics, that person might start suffocating just from breathing in the same room as a peanut product. I remember in elementary school, our class had a kid with that type of allergy, and EVERYONE was told about this firsthand. No matter how far away you were sitting from him in the cafeteria, you weren't allowed to have peanut products during lunch or snack time. It was a very strict precaution and we were all aware of the danger. In a similar vain, when I was in high school, I had an art teacher who had some kind of breathing problem when exposed to perfumes/colognes. She told us immediately on the first day that we weren't allowed to spray that stuff in her classroom. Apparently, it was fine as long it wasn't directly sprayed in the air she was in, so people could still wear them, just so long as they already were applied before coming to class. For a while, everything went fine. Until one day, some girl forgot and went to put on a new spray of perfume during class. Now, this teacher wasn't very nice a lot of time, she was kind of a jerk, but I definitely think she was right to get angry at this student for breaking a rule that was dangerous to her health.
Another thing some people (lgbtqa+ community included) struggle to understand is how I can be aromantic pansexual while still being a virgin. As if you need to have sex before knowing that you're attracted to someone

I'm not a lawyer, but I'd interpret the line in the thirteenth amendment about "except AS A PUNISHMENT for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted" as not being about incarceration, but rather community service. If I get convicted of a crime, and sentenced to prison, working in a field for no pay was NOT part of the punishment for my crime, the punishment is that I am incarcerated in prison, it does not give the prison free license to force me to perform labor for their profit. Being sentenced to labor is *absolutely* a thing, but is NOT the same as being sentenced to prison. Still not property that can just be leased out.

With the lottery money story 18:33 . To find out how it drops so bad you have to research the difference between picking the cash payout vs. annuity. When you pick the cash payout you only win about 40% of the actual prize and then are taxed on that lump sum. If you pick the annuity you win the full amount but broken up into 30 annual payments that increase by around 4 -5% per year. The first payment is a good lump to start you off. If you have the life expectancy to do this it is a good idea because each payment is in a much lower tax bracket meaning you pay less in taxes. Now you can leave future payments to others in a will but it gets complicated and best to speak with a professional. The annuity can protect you from losing your mind and blowing it all. Just helpful advice because fuck the man, knowledge is power.
Thanks for adding the context! Also, I don't really understand why people are upset about a huge amount of money being taxed at a high rate, when everyone calls for 'taxing the rich' in every other post. I get that people who start out poor and then win the lottery aren't the same as other millionaires, but once you win this much, you are rich too. I don't think it'd be fair either to apply different taxation rules for that case.
Well why would you be? No one cares that you're asexual, you aren't being marginalized or condemned by religious zealots. No bakers will refuse to make you a wedding cake. White pan (admittedly mostly sapphic) trans woman here. Get the same feeling whenever folks try to wedge out the T from the queer community. Doesn't help that the people who hate *all* of us try to hammer those wedges in, either. This is how ace/aro-spectrum folks (hi, demisexual/demiromantic also), bi/pansexuals, and gender-non-conforming folks (like trans, non-binary, genderqueer, agender, etc.) end up feeling even more marginalized. Because the folks that hate us all would rather have us fighting each other than focused on *them.* It's awful, and I empathize with you and anyone else who's got to experience it.
My favorite thing about the "humans aren't made to eat meat" picture as a Biologist is how they called a horse "VEGAN" instead of an herbivore. That post with the burger shook me to the core. When I was in the ADHD clinic, I had a roommate with an autoimmune disease, that forbids her from eating any proteines. She supplements the lack of proteins with an aminoacid powder that she needs to buy abroad, because her disease is so rare, that it doesn't get produced everywhere. She eats a lot of fruits and vegetables, so basically, lots of salad and baked veggies, to not walk around hungry. If someone gave her a real burger, and said it was a veggie burger, and she couldn't tell the difference, and ate it, she would have either needed to be at the hospital, or worse, she could have died. Heck, even when she made bananamilk out of an oat drink, she had to share it with everyone, because oats still have some residual proteins, which is why she couldn't drink too much of it, and she didn't want it to go bad. So yes, there are people who can't eat meat, or any animal products, due to health issues. This woman isn't voluntarily vegan, she has to be vegan, or else she might actually be in serious trouble with her health.

6:59 - Ladies and gentlemen, we have found the Right's endgame. Also, the sociopathic greed is more on the outside investors, not necessarily the companies themselves. It is basically a law in America that publicly traded companies _have_ to grow their companies all the time at all other costs. It's not enough to just turn a profit. The precedent for this goes back to a time when Henry Ford of all people tried to give his workers a substantial wage boost at the cost of his company's stock. The Dodge brothers sued him, stating that he had screwed them out of dividends (they owned Ford stock at the time). The judge, unfortunately, sided with them.

My mother got it from gestational diabetes. I'm the child who gave it to her.
I have a relative, skinny as a stick and has type 2 so yeah just adding more evidence that diabetes doesn't equate to fat which a lot of people mistakenly think.
Also, pretty sure genetics, although not a 100% chance, make you pretty darn likely to get diabetes.

Pretty sure that taking money from people's paychecks is just straight up illegal, if it isn't agreed upon contractually.
I’m sorry that happened to you, omg that’s a cartoonish level of dystopia! I hope things are going better for you
Where do you live? What country? And just so other people can avoid going for a job there, where did you work? I'm pretty sure in most countries it would be illegal to 1, pay you less than your coworkers for doing the same job, and 2, docking pay to buy the boss presents.

Edit: It was something about their digestion not being used to meat, and that apparently could end up making them sick

12:18 Mary is the type of person to give a person with a peanut allergy a PB&J for lunch.

If I get convicted of a crime, and sentenced to prison, working in a field for no pay was NOT part of the punishment for my crime, the punishment is that I am incarcerated in prison, it does not give the prison free license to force me to perform labor for their profit.

As an asexual, I've been told repeatedly I'm not lgbt
What
Yeah.. you ain't special. So I'd settle down there.
On behalf of anyone who has told you that I am sincerely sorry. those people are just stupid.
Why does that even matter tho
Well why would you be? No one cares that you're asexual, you aren't being marginalized or condemned by religious zealots. No bakers will refuse to make you a wedding cake. You can visit any country without the risk of being discovered and thrown in jail or worse. And it doesn't even matter, its just a label.
As a white, Bisexual woman currently in a relationship with a man, I 100% understand Robin's frustration.
Being in a relationship with the opposite gender does not magically delete the attraction to the same gender. It's not rocket science.
The worst part is getting bullied by *other LGBT+ people*. What do they think the B stands for? Bees? Bakers?? Borschtsch???
I don't understand and I don't want to at this point
White pan (admittedly mostly sapphic) trans woman here. Get the same feeling whenever folks try to wedge out the T from the queer community. Doesn't help that the people who hate *all* of us try to hammer those wedges in, either.
This is how ace/aro-spectrum folks (hi, demisexual/demiromantic also), bi/pansexuals, and gender-non-conforming folks (like trans, non-binary, genderqueer, agender, etc.) end up feeling even more marginalized. Because the folks that hate us all would rather have us fighting each other than focused on *them.*
It's awful, and I empathize with you and anyone else who's got to experience it.

My favorite thing about the "humans aren't made to eat meat" picture as a Biologist is how they called a horse "VEGAN" instead of an herbivore.
Like yeah, all those horses out there surviving solely on nutrition NOT symbiotically derived from other animal production. Carefully avoiding plants that have been grown from animal manure, etc.
And yes, animals with extremely specialized digits and the mental capacity for tool use do not, in fact, require sharp or large teeth. We also cannot digest or use the nutrition in cellulose, sooo.
And especially since a lot of herbivores can also eat meat if it's available and they're hungry enough without other food around.

5:06 I could be misremembering something, but I'm pretty sure the Shakespeare character that prays for sex reassignment (as they put it) is Lady Macbeth, not Macbeth:
"come you spirits... unsex me here... Stop up the access and passage to remorse, that no compunctious visitings of nature shake my fell purpose, nor keep peace between the effect and it! Come to my woman’s breasts, and take my milk for gall" - a chopped down version of her speech in act 1 scene 5

Your comments on the stuff in this video are so spot on, I've been watching this series for a while but this one just really knocked it out of the ballpark
on the women who went on 6 dates a week she came out and admitted it was a bogus article written without her consent the actual interview she was in that the article stole her likeness from she said only went on 2-3 a week when she felt up to it
That's better, but still bad.
@@Specoups bad on who's part? she wasn't constantly going on dates and it wasn't every week and given the scope of dating in modern day especially with dating apps actively looking and occasionally meeting who you match with is very normal or is it bad that a supposed news outlet got away with totally blatantly slandering someone?
@@obsidianbarnowldesigns 2-3 per week indicates that she's not seriously looking for a partner. You cannot properly judge the quality of a partner in such short spans. Hence, even if the article is mostly garbage, the idea that she is toying in one way or another with her dates is absolutely sound.
@@Specoups well since it was literally never specified either by the bs article or herself if it was tinder creeps using the date to get in her pants and she noped out or if it was the same person every time that's a bold and frankly nonsensical assumption and a complete load of crap to shame her and call her manipulative

Couldn’t agree more. I think it’s called skin to skin, but there might be other phrases for it. It promotes a healthy immune system, healthy emotional regulation, better sleep, decreases the chance of stress related health conditions including certain mental health conditions and they usually develop better and longer lasting relationships with their parents than kids who didn’t have it as much. It’s suuuuuper important.
As a fellow bisexual this rant (18:53) speaks to me on a spiritual level.

I keep calling it twitter too. Heck, even online newspapers have to write stuff like ".. says the police on their official X/twitter account" cause no one understands what they mean if they just write X. It's a stupid, stupid name and removing the bird too just defeated the entire connection between the name and the animal. Just stupid.
Musk is a real-life example of the difference between RPG Intellegence and Wisdom stats.
Whenever I watch this stuff, my self esteem is restored
7:05 Yes. The 13th Amendment specifically allows prison labour. Yes, the prisoners are not compensated. Because they're in PRISON!
Yes, we know the 13th Amendment allows for prison slavery. We are also aware the vast majority of rational countries around the world have banned this practice. Because, IT'S SLAVERY!!! The fact that they created a legal loophole to allow some slavery to continue to this day, doesn't make it right or just.
So… slavery then
21:13 another point is horses, cows, goats and other herbivores also eat meat not as main food source but they DO STILL EAT MEAT. Its just smth ppl forget to mention as if its not a naturerely (dont knoe how to write that word correctly im dyslexic) accurate when in reality it happens alot.

Used to know someone we shared meals with sometimes. Sometimes, when it was their turn, they made meals for us but the meals often had an ingredient I hated. I stayed quiet because I figured they forgot and that it wouldn't be polite to kick up a fuss when they'd made a meal for us. Turns out they were "hiding" it in my food purpose because they "knew I'd never notice." I don't waste time on them any more.

What does ‘vulnerability’ even entail if you don’t want him to cry or act upset?

Another thing about Rose from the titanic, the guy she's on the boat with? he's out there looking for the necklace, the necklace she has that she said nothing about, and the same necklace she decides to chuck into the water.
So she's on the boat with the guy who is looking for the necklace she has, and decides to chuck it into the water instead of letting the guy who spent a large chuck of his life looking for it, have it.
So she let the guy waste his life and then sort of gives him the finger at the end after telling him her story.
