Thank you for this video. It's crazy how Mecca and Medina have changed since I was there on the Haj in January 1973, during King Faisal's rule. It's hard to recognize anything except, of course, some of the old structures. I wish I'd had a camera back then -- I only have some picture postcards I sent home. I never went back. It's interesting to see how it looks today -- so dramatically different. On the Haj we lived in tents in Mina, and in Medina I lived in an old quarter that looked like it was built many hundreds of years ago and which was later torn down to make way for the expansion of the Mosque of the Prophet (pbuh). I also swam in the beautiful Red Sea at Jeddah, but it seemed like I was the only person in the water that time -- no one else in sight.

Alhamdulilla brother you got there and visited Mecca! Advice: If you take the train from JEDDAH to MAKKAH, it is way cheaper than 400 SAR. I think it is around 100 SAR. The train station is next to the lunch spot you ate at with the Saudis (in the airport). After that there is a FREE bus that will take you directly to Masjid al-Haram. This was insane, I was tearing up then checked the timestamp and saw I've only watched 5 minutes of it, the amount of kind and fun people you've met. Thank you for this video. It's crazy how Mecca and Medina have changed since I was there on the Haj in January 1973, during King Faisal's rule. It's hard to recognize anything except, of course, some of the old structures. I wish I'd had a camera back then -- I only have some picture postcards I sent home. I never went back. It's interesting to see how it looks today -- so dramatically different. On the Haj we lived in tents in Mina, and in Medina I lived in an old quarter that looked like it was built many hundreds of years ago and which was later torn down to make way for the expansion of the Mosque of the Prophet (pbuh). I also swam in the beautiful Red Sea at Jeddah, but it seemed like I was the only person in the water that time -- no one else in sight.
MashaAllah , l think back in 1973 was more simple and much nicer, Alhamdulilah l went to do Omrah 5 years ago, l was soooo overwhelmed with the fancy structures , l think Mecca was more beautiful and more peaceful , now everything is pricey, fancy, l wish they left as it use to be thousands years ago

Advice: If you take the train from JEDDAH to MAKKAH, it is way cheaper than 400 SAR. I think it is around 100 SAR. The train station is next to the lunch spot you ate at with the Saudis (in the airport). After that there is a FREE bus that will take you directly to Masjid al-Haram. I hope next time it is going to be easier!
