- USA win women's 4x100 metre relay world title from Daegu, South Korea - September 4, 2011.
The US team of Bianca Knight, Allyson Felix, Marshevet Myers and Carmelita Jeter won the women's 4x100m relay title at the world championships on Sunday.
The US quartet clocked 41.56sec, with Jamaica taking silver (41.70) and Ukraine claiming bronze (42.51). - กีฬา
Felix is pure magic on any relay second leg. She never fails to give USA the lead.
The US women haven’t had a backstretch runner like AF
THE ONLY ONE that can be her replacement is GABBY hands down but that’s gonna take ShaCarri let go f the past and be team player so she can anchor
Daniels-Gabby-Prandini-SR is a squad that can break the WR
Yeah she won 4 medals in this one championship ❤
Including the 2 individual medals even if she had to 6 rounds for the individual events (3x3) ❤🔥🔥
I personally think they all have their moments , one minute Felix wins, then it's jeter, or Fraser pryce , them Campbell brown comes out of know where like they are all amazing
+Desie Belle Since 2008, Shelly-Ann has only lost once and that was in Daegu 2011. That's 5 major tiles in 7 years.... That's an excellent achievement.
All of these ladies can go!!!
Charlotte is right..every one of these girls can run like the wind...thank you,Charlotte
4 of the greatest sprinters ever in that race,2 for usa and 2 for Jamaica.
Carmelita is a pure beast!!!
Only difference between this team and the 2012 WR team was Tiana Madison Bartoletta replacing Marchevette Myers. Knight went to 3rd leg when Madison came on. Domination.
We lacked someone to meet up to to the pocket rocket start
2019, Jeter n Felix done great jobs for the U.S. track n fields team, all Olympic teams members give it their all. Good luck to you all.🏆🥇🥈🥉🏅
one of the best races in years....I have a feeling the US will break thw world record next year.
10yrs later PURRRRR!!!!! They OBLITERATED THE WORLD RECORD 40.82🤪
Im 11years late but u got that one right
And did..... 2012♥️
Let’s show Jeter some love!
That was a good race, but it brought back some hurtful memories. I wish VCB had gotten out a little quicker, because that would’ve been a much better race.
I love that woman I feel like Carmelita Jetter is my soul sista. God bless her whole team. 🙏🙏🙏

All in one championship ❤️
Allyson Felix is a feeling
Our women are incomparable. Go 🇺🇸
yep. VCB is a beast, but Jeter got that FORM!
she is a incredible runner and i felt sorry for her at Olympic Rio that she didn't participate because of injury!
Love you Alyson !
Well one thing I can see from the comments and that is Jamaican fans are definitely more passionate about their athletes than Americans are.
I admire and appreciate the skills of these elite athletes regardless of their country, and who ever wins just wins. There is no begrudging an accomplishment or feat.
It would be nice to see some people at least acknowledge the great performance of the American women. The 4x100 is a team competition and in this instance the Americans were tops.
man those hand offs looked flawless. Really makes a difference when there is a high caliber of runners in the relay. This is a Monster team for the USA. Don't sleep on Felix at all. Hell, Knight is a sleeper cell too so don't sleep on her.
Congratulations to the USA ladies. However, still love my Jamaican sisters showing great determination despite the outcome. Great Race!
I am rooting for everybody black😘
Since VCB became a senior athlete I have never seen anyone who can anchor a Jamaica 4x1 relay team better than her.
This was a great race by both teams.
LOVE YOU team Jamaica.
VCB is a beast!!!
Love watching these lovely ladies at their best. All these athletes are awesome.
I looooove Jeter her my goodness she flies😘😘😘
Holy cow these girls are just amazing , this is just plain fast . I get excited because you can see they driven to be the best and give everything and they are so very proud , they should be .
One of VCB's best year. Gold in 200m silver in 100m and 4x100m.
VCB was closing ‼️
USA baby doing major work on the track
I feel so happy for Jeter bcos she has had a lot of dissapiontment in the early part of her life .But i now believe God does everything bright and beautiful in his own time.Jeter walked away with 3 medals and just won the diamond grand prize in the 200m and on her way to take the prize in the 100m as well in Brussels.this is a year Jeter will never forget in her career.good to her smile.
Not so. These two teams are virtually evenly matched to the point that if you give the USA girls the lead, you aren't going to catch them. Look at that last leg. VCB was reeling CJ in, but she ran out of track because she isn't that much better than Jeter, thus she couldn't walk her down. If the USA girls had to catch VCB, they wouldn't be able to do it for the same reason. The race was won in the middle of the race by the third leg runner.
Campbell took off way too late on her exchange. It was dead even going into the last exchange and the U.S. just had a far better handoff. This has to be the first time ever that a U.S. relay team won because they had a better exchange.
I agree... it was puzzling to see that VCB got the baton first yet was behind Jeter...
Mr Flexybee, very nice opinion, I think the point is 2nd leg 3rd leg, take a look back at 2005, helsinki and 2007, Osaka, and also Daegu 2011, all this race put VCB at the anchor leg, I saw how fast VCB and getting close finish line with US anchor leg, but look at that, all 3 runners of USA is different, Lauryn williams 2005, Torri Edwards 2007, and Carmelita Jeter 2011, so I think the problem for the Jamaican now is 2nd leg & 3rd leg, and the last is the baton change.
At 2:28 you could see one of the USA runners putting her hand up BEFORE it ended. She already knew that they were going to win. LOL. That's a fast USA team !!
and still holds the record 40.82....still still...
And USA broke the record without Mashervet Myers in London.I wonder what the time would have been if Myers run that top bend on the curve.
Thats what I was wondering. maybe 40.6x
I remember this race, and I remember thinking VCB took out too slow. Sherone actually ran up on her a little.
Very grainy video, but I saw Carmelita do her thang!!
LADIES THAT WAS A DAM GOOD RACE GO USA !!! NOW THATS HOW WE RUN THE RACE ALL THE WAY TO THE FINSH LINE YOU HAVE MADE US PROUD TO BE AMERICAN !!!
so much for that "Fact" of yours... at least you got the men's 4x100 right. The US 4x100m relay ladies were phenomenal, as were the Jamaican men, both setting new World Records
If you people want to see close down, I urge you to watch the Diamond league meets between Jeter and VCB where Jeter truly ran down and close out on VCB twice. One time Jeter even the race and scored the same time as VCB and another time Jeter lost by .03 of a second. That is closing down.
USA = BEAST MODE !!!!
A child born to this runner and a Bo Jackson, man what an athlete that could be.
Are you from the Human Genome Project or the Mississippi plantation?
Congratulations to Jeter and Felix and the other 2 USA athletes.. even Campbell Brown excellent at the last leg but still wasn't able to make it to the first position
To my Americans Sisters. Yall rocked the house.
Amazing so beautiful congratulations to all of you watching from Greece ❤❤❤
@phebeharris I will not waste my time to even talk about this one, between Allyson and LaShaunte who is more consitent sprinter to run relays.Have you ever watch the lasat 2 penn relays on did you see Allyson on that 2nd leg,she is doing very well on that leg.Maybe Baica did not give her a comfortable lead here but why are you try so hard to forget that Allyson had already gone for 7 rounds before coming for this relay. If she had stored much energy like fraser n simpson she would have blasted it.
whos watching this in 2016?
the woman for the sport
Not me
watching it in 2018
2018
Jeter put in work right from the exchange Damn!
Probably. Maybe. Could be. It comes down to two evenly matched teams and how each individual girl runs their leg. I think the coaches and the runners think about exactly what you point out, as do the Americans. I still think that such is their rivalry is right now, whoever has the lead after the third leg will win. Jeter is the fastest woman at 100m and she is unbeatable if she has that lead.
And lets not for get who won the gold and bronze in the 200, gold an bronze in the 400, silver and bronze in the 100 hurdles, and silver in the 400 hurdles. In all the sprint, which includes the hurdles and the relays, the US women ran off with a total of 10 medals. Jamaica trotted with 5
My baby ms jeter brought it home. She runs with great form
Fitter Kerron, Sherone and Shelly-Ann this year folks (MVP is back to the old training methods), National record again but this time it should be golden.
TeamUSA USA 🇺🇸 GOLD 🥇 🥇🥇🥇
The era when Ya never know who was going to Win what medal in what race....There were so much talent&fastness in each Sprinter...Kept Us wandering..
WAY2GO LADIES...TEAMUSA FOR THE WIN🥇🥇🥇🥇
OOO yeah!!!! about time!
you are very right!
Beautiful..
Good breakdown by Michael Johnson .
Record SHATTERED!!
40.82 FOR THE AMERICANS IN 2012 LONDON !!
Jeter pointing at the clock as she crossed the finish line, because she KNEW they had the world record. This race in 2011 was just a preview of what was to come in Lonon.
Great jobs ladies
Imagine 2 Veronica and 2 Fraser-Pryce for JA relay team, the other teams would just see dust
@phebeharris The 4x100m baton passes is about EXTENSION, you do not run up on the person and plop the baton in their hand, you should be stretching and extending your arm to place the baton in the hand that is how you get a good/excellent hand off. Check the hand-off between SS-VCB vs Myers-Jeter... SS ran up on VCB and placed the baton in her hand while Myers extended and placed the baton in Jeter hand. If VCB left out earlier she would be farther out and could stretch back for the baton.
I like Jeter...she seems a perfect mate everywhere
great run by Jeter.
He is amazing through me.
@phebeharris Hugging the end of the curve is one thing but you would also need to actually get out as well. The aim is to not have the baton slow down at all. On the last hand off the baton slowed down quite considerably which allowed Jeter to get an additional couple of meters ahead on VCB which (coupled with a superb 3rd leg from Myers) gave Jeter enough cushion for Jeter to hold off a fast finishing VCB.
Exactly... LONDON.
100: Jeter got silver, Campbell Brown got bronze
200: Jeter got bronze, Campbell Brown didn't medal
4x1: Well... everyone knows what happened there
So what's your point again?
what is your point
Wait, Michael Johnson has a lisp? No sir. Relays are won/lost in the 2nd and 3rd legs. The best relay team I've seen was Tianna Madison, Felix, Bianca Knight, and Jeter.
truth
Marsh, Burrell, Mitchell and Lewis might have something to say about that!
@MszBellesz who won the race?
@doinotna It's not only watching longer than you, participating in it and working for it. The U.K. had a team that could challenge the U.S. and their sprinters couldn't challenge Maurice Green. Just like the current U.S. sprinter men is just as quick and can challenge Jamaica but not bolt. The U.S. had a bad baton pass but they lost because they weren't quick enough. If U.K. wasn't great they wouldn't even medal. They won the gold. They were really that great! I know what I'm talking about.
The handoff for jamaica was type sloppy and that contiributed to their downfall but who decided to make Campbell anchor, her form on the straightaway is horrendous; But I love all my Jamaican runner and im so proud. Two of my favorite teams winning first and second place .:-)
Pencil Wisdom her form is horrendous?! you're clueless. She won gold and beat Jeter and Felix in the women's final; which includes a straightaway!
gpipeline her form IS pretty bad, but that doesn't mean she isn't fast.
Pencil Wisdom: Truthfully speaking, VCB was actually closing in on Jeter.... Watch carefully!!!
thank you vcb is amazing anchor it's the hand offs that cost them
VCB would have ran her down if the passes were great
I wanna be like her🤘🏽💯🏃🏽💨
O my gosh they are awesome I just want to do it
Queen Felix is the Boss!
@91gt306 Jeter didn't get ran down on the finish line. The lead stayed the same from the beginning of the fourth leg to the finish line. VCB was behind by 2 meters and lost by 2 meters. She didn't close down on anything. The fourth lane has a longer bend and the sixth lane has more of a straightway. The gap wasn't that big between Jeter and VCB. Jeter did her part. The fastest woman in the world was unable to be caught.
@phebeharris I think the JAM men baton passes were substandard too. They could have gone sub-37 with good baton changes. Coming first or geting the best results in any competition does not mean you did your best, it means you did better than everyone else. That's what happened with Jamaica team and the US women team stretched the zones. Poor baton passes can happen, people can run pass the line, batons can dropped, all that stuff can happen if you don't extend as well, so moot point
Its going to be very tough for the USA to repeat in 2012. History shows its always more difficult to repeat . And before anyone chastises me - guys jamaica was not at their best . Kerron stewart ran 10.80 in 2009 and Sherone simpson a silver medalist did not ren well this season and also Shelly aswell. The Jamaicans have some new and up coming stars - The usa do not hear about them but they exist.. Also until USA men come up with some better runners they will not beat Jamaica
@MrFlexybee Consistency, consistency Mr. Flexbee. The Felix-Myers lineup was clearly the deadly lineup that saved the day for team USA and that was due to experience & familiarity with each other. However, VCB really messed up as she froze up in the passing zone. She knew it & she was rightfully disgusted with herself as JAM should've won. They had the raw-speed advantage. However, one can't say it enough. Leg speed is negated if handoffs aren't on point. I do agree with your point 'bout the 4x4
@MrFlexybee There's no run down or close down. The gap merely stayed the same from beginning of fourth exchange to the end. I don't know what these Jamaicans are talking about or whether they saw the same race I did. The bend in the 4th land is longer while the 6th lane has a longer straightway. In the exception of that, Jeter could have lost ground from tiring rather VCB catching up. Though I don't think that it's true, it's something to consider.
This lady's are fast
Jam did great a national record for them come on now that's enuff said they had a great squad but even with that great of a squad we (USA) put our best team forward. without Lauryn Williams on the first leg. She has a way better start in the relays then most men and women.. but Shelly-Ann ran a crazy first leg her start is always at the top.. but Allyson Felix went to work on her leg of the race. i mean all and all both teams put the best teams together and here is the result.. now London 2012
Woooooooow USA women just run 41.64 in the semi final race at London. just 4 hundreths of a sec outside the olympic record.
I love Carmelita Jeter❤
Jamaica lost this race on the third leg .... if Jamaica was in the lane beside USA it would have been a different story. Lovely running from the US Team. Jamaica should not put Sherone Simpson on any relays. She always pulls us down.
sherone was amazing in 2004 on relays
I think on the second leg allyson felix made it comeback for US team.. she is super fast on second leg not only 4x100 relay but 4x400 also..
Camelita is so gorgeous
i cant even see their legs moving this is so fast hahaha
@1robbyjunior For your information some of your Jamaican fans dont also want to give credit to the Usa women.no one is believing that USA must always win but they put in thier best in wateva they do.Look at an impressive week Allyson felix had in this championships, how many Jamaican women will set out of their comfort zone and do this marvelous thing. All of them deserve credit for running but when things are superb and exceptional you have to accept it.like how we have all accepted bolt as No.1
my 4by1's time is 53 wow these peopleare amazing.
@phebeharris You are really wrong here,First legs are equally importance as well. in the late 80's and early 90's it was the leg of Alice Brown that made the U.S stand out in relays bcos she always blasted the the bend. And i dont think the U.S has got any athlete faster than Felix to run that 2nd,even though Felix was tired after the earlier 7 rounds(400,200,4*400) she still run well against Kerron and Kelly Baptiste.Felix really made up a lot of grounds for the U.s here.
USA Womens Are the best in the world love love it !!!
@johnathondwight i think you are right.they did run at their best.very true
Allyson Felix is the best !!
You're right, but the truth is everyone has a chance because all teams have dropped the baton at some time or another. But even though I love my home country (USA) I have to admit that Bolt and Blake are good for Track & Field. I love it all!!!!!!
RACE START
0:42
You're welcome
Jeter mama!!
@decadyne
P.S.
Take a look at that scoreboard. Let me know who won the race.
@1robbyjunior If one were to use your analogy, neither was the USA. Myers flopped in the semis & Felix was a huge x-factor after running so many 400s/200s. Her body was clearly tired. Knight performed well in the relay semis, so the US gambled on her in the final; although Anderson had run well & is 2/100ths faster. Clearly, the JAM ladies, injuries & all, was the fastest unit on paper. Experience played more of a role here as Felix & Myers have run more together than Stewart & Simpson.
@phebeharris i just realised that you find it hard to understand comment on youtube.i neva said felix beat anyone on that 2nd leg, there is a difference between making grounds and beating someone. If someone is in the lead and you try to close up that is what we call making up grounds.Allyson was not stand stil when she got the baton but moved and even closed down on the french athlete,if not so Myers would not have been able to fly on that top bend.
@Cheetah69 Americans are actually slower than the Jamaicans. The Jamaicans had the faster team, but Americans are experts at relay and always put together good line ups.
I saw this before. It's textbook relay running.
Bianca knight physique is such beauty
@Smitty2060 For your information, Jamaica's recent success has come about because they are now training most of their athletes at home. The Olympic champions Usain Bolt and Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce did not attend college in the US unlike those who came before them. They were trained in Jamaica by Jamaican coaches. Maybe the US collegiate circuit does not work for them any more.
@phebeharris Do you even know where the line is in a 4x100 relay? VCB took the baton meters away from the line hardly using the zone, she and Sherone were too afraid of botching the hand-off that they decided to be 'safe' and gave up a valuable meter or two at least. VCB never slowed down in the zone, she started off later than she could causing Sherone to run up on her instead of really getting out there before the Sherone caught up with her.
@bhodgerrr Not really. The first leg doesn't do much damage to anyone on the 4x100m relay. Even if someone is very fast a has a great lead, it will be easily made up by the second or third leg. The U.S. knows this. The slowest runners or someone who doesn't hesitate out of the blocks should run the first leg. Alexandria probably wouldn't have made much difference, but Alexandria on the first leg and someone faster than Felix on the second would have made a difference.
