My Dad was a barber in the 60s to mid 70s. Loved walking from school to his shop. It was fun and smelled great also. He always had pop in the cooler and peanuts. Great memories. I miss him alot.

In a black barber shop they are in there chopping it up, talking about women, community, politics and the latest and the greatest. I took my grandson to one of his first barbershop hang outs. He was around the men in the community, they had video games on a big tv, a little snack area and the best part for him was older men including him in the conversation.

i donated 16 inches of hair thanks to a great hairdresser. my favorite joke is to apologize for shaving my legs in her shop in front of other customers. the looks on their faces is soooo priceless. like i'm a weirdo-werewolf or something like that. i also remember seeing the barbers sharpen the razors on the leather straps. i always had fun watching them do their work.

Awwwww, the dog looks so cute!!!!! I had a pitbull mix, she was the sweetest girl! She died recently at the age of 14. I miss her! But your dog looks so happy and like he's a big cuddle buddy! I can understand about him not liking fireworks. My Mya was terrified of thunderstorms. Any really loud noise, actually.
watching you gentlemen work reminds me of when I'd care for my intellectually disabled brother...I was the one that would trim his hair, shave/shape his facial hair...he had grey curly hair, and when it was a few inches long he looked like professor Julius Somdemiller, a scientist who had a TV show for the kids during the 70's...when I'd cut it he would look like the actor Graham McTavish (The Hobbit, The Witcher, Outlander) he passed away last October..I sure miss caring for him..
Love the expertise of these barbers, they just look at a photo and know exactly what to do, so why in all the years I have been to so-called professional hairdressers not one has fully listened to me re cowlicks etc and blithely go ahead and I end up with a short back and sides! I am sick of being ripped off and then have to grow my hair again. I am running out of options in my town. Each time I am devastated, while the hairdressers are gossiping, it's an emotional thing for women. Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe I should go to a barber, they are very good at their job.
