Yet another great adventure Mark! Loved your encounter with Momma Bear and her cubs. And the trees were magnificent..it always amazing me that there are these massive trees on earth, that are in existence and still here to be sought out, and enjoyed..wonderful. Thanks again for the fun experience!
I can only imagine how terrifying it would be to be on that beach with tide coming in. You forget where you went in and its going to get hairy real quick... assuming a bear does not eat you first. Sea life is pretty cool. Those bears were terrifyingly cute.
Great video. Love the history. The critically acclaimed Steven Spielberg movie '1941' gives a historical perspective of events of WW2 along the west coast. Wiki the Zoot Suit Riots of LA. as well as the Ellwood refinery attack. The trailers and the movie should make a few smiles. Mark Felton did a great video on incendiary balloons during WW2 to match the plane attack. The Bears were a nice touch. Lots of memories made. It was definitely a Grand Adventure! Another great video.
It hasn't gotten out of the low 60s for us anytime in our past several weeks following the coast. It's normally cool here in summers anyway thanks to the Pacific influence, but this year it's even running below normal thus far.
@@GrandAdventure I just noticed, I'm camperbum now, lol. It's 105 plus here in the Ozarks today, can't really get anything done but watching videos, thanks Mark, now send some cool weather our way 😎 your friend in the steamy Ozarks.
I enjoyed your video. It brought back memories of visiting my great aunt and uncle as a kid. They lived in Klamath and we would fish for steelhead in the river and rock and lingcod out of Crescent City 🎣. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Thanks Marc... fun viewing and beautiful area. Very different... it has an exotic flavor to it... like something out of Pacific southeast Asia. This will be our hottest week this summer in DFW... 103-108°F. Gord
@@GrandAdventure Marc, You could easily do a special on how to avoid summer heart. And then highlight several places over the years that were very cool during the summer months. I don't think many people are aware of coastal range temps during the summer months. Enjoy the cool buddy... Gord
I love the PNW; especially the coastal runs. Haven't been there for about 5 years. This certainly motivates me to get there soon. Thanks for taking us along.
We were at Kalamath River Rv park about a week or so ago. Might have seen you in the kayaks. There were two down river right before the river turns to go to the ocean. Very special area.
That is a great area and you did a great job bringing it to the screen. I thought it was fun that the road (I think it was the scenic highway but might have been 101) would have redwoods that stuck out into the roadway.
Yep Bill, both 101 and the Scenic Route through the State Park have them jutting out into the shoulder. Especially on 101, driving through there at the speed limit with the narrow lanes and curves is sure "sporting," to say the least. Happy to hear that you enjoyed this one, thank you for your kind words!
Very interesting, beautiful video Marc! I especially liked Hidden Beach and you had it all to yourself, thats best of all. The tidal pools are so interesting, beautiful, creepy and fun. Hi Marc, sorry I missed this last night. You did a great job. This brings back memories for me when I was there last July. The beaches are a different kind of beauty from the beaches of the south. I had encounter with a black bear. I am just glad that they rarely attack humans and mine had no clubs. Don
I'm glad that ours only had a cub, and no clubs with which to attack us, Don. 😁 Thank you as always for your kind words! We love this whole stretch of coastline from NorCal up through Oregon. Next week we'll bring you to Coos Bay, the week thereafter the Central Oregon Coast, and the northern Oregon coast the week thereafter. Beyond that, we're still trying to figure out our itinerary.
you're at the 2nd part of my NorCal adventure. After doing the west side of the Sac. Valley I'll head over to my aunts in Rio Dell. Then I'll start at the mouth of the Klamath and go see the 4 dams they're taking out, up to the Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon.
Good morning Mark. Another wonderful video and a history lesson at the same time. I have one question for you. Generally, how much time passes between the moment you film your video and the moment it is broadcast? Thank you and have a nice day. I always look forward to your next video.
It varies. A lot of it depends on how quickly we can gain ground on the calendar. At the moment it's about 2, to 2 and 1/2 weeks. FYI we always put the filming dates in the video description.
We were so incredibly disappointed by that when we walked down and saw it. There are times that I can come up with no explanation for why some people do what they do.
Well, obviously we don't use the drone inside National Parks, and abide by all flight restrictions. Redwood National & State Parks is a unique situation, wherein it's actually a conglomeration of jointly managed state parks. In a situation like that, given that it's technically state park land, and I'm just one guy with a camera I'll take my chances. Eventually this will play out that the NPS won't apply the same standards to a TH-camr with a camera as apply to a large, commercial film crew.
@@GrandAdventure I remember when the NPS had sense enough to know the difference between big production filming/video and left small footprint photogs and videographers alone, but lately they have gone insane with their No Monetization policy. I am not monetized anywhere on any social media platform, but they have threatened me several times, once photo photographing my son and his fiancé at Valley of Fire. Said my camera was too professional to be an amateur. While photographing two Donkeys, me on Whiskey Pete's Casino parking lot, they on he dry lake bed nearby, a Nevada Highway Patrol officer told me if I did not stop photographing them, he would arrest me. I told him I was shooting from private property at Donkeys on BLM Land, but that just made him mad and he literally went psycho for a moment yelling at me. I left to avoid him throwing my camera gear in his trunk. Once at Lake Mead National Recreation Area, I was threatened with a fine for breaking out my tripod. They've just gone nuts with this nonsense. dizeman.com Thanks for your timely response!

I think I could live there, but would be happy to camp given the chance. It’s a different state of California.
Agreed. Even the locals in that area hate California.
It feels like a very un-California portion of California up there. The difference from the rest of the state is palpable.
