I loved that JK did defer to Usher at certain points-staying slightly behind him, etc.-after all, he is paying a bit of homage to this other icon/idol, and also loved that Usher did his own choreo at certain points. Just loved it-the vocals were great-just an iconic, rather epic pairing!
Tearing? Oh yeah! That's a normal reaction to see art and history being created 😊
To me, JK's solo version is the greatest, but this has another component: two greatest artists together (re)creating musical history. And the best thing, I think, is: two humble artists! None of them wanting to be THE star and, this way, shining, both, even brighter!
Ooh forgot you didn’t react to the choreography video. They killed it. Usher was such a perfect person to collab with. Especially knowing Usher was friends with MJ and had the opportunity to dance with him. It all just comes together. 💗

Nathan, yes Jungkook's hair is different- shorter than before- he said that he was going to gradually make it shorter to prepare for military enlistment ......fantastic remix for stars of different eras, age wise....and Usher still has all the moves - Jungkook always seems to create that camaraderie with those he works with- you also see it with Jack Harlow. I think he is very easy to work with..and always looks like he is having fun. So today when you spoke about reverb....I actually knew what you were talking about! Getting input from a producer really focuses attention on aspects that one might not be aware of - adds to the appreciation of the song, so thank you! 🙏💜
It made me tear up when I first heard it too… It’s pretty great to hear them not try to overpower each other, but just it just blends like it is now as it was always like this way… they compliment each other perfectly…
I don't think they are trying to outshine themselves in the video, JK has a lot of RESPECT for Usher, you have to remember JK is only 26 and Usher 43, Jk has expressed in the past that he has always admired Usher since he was little, the space he gave him during the song to do his art is pure respect, Usher is an incredible singer, performer and dancer and JK it is too!! The tearing? yes...we all got that, it is an outstanding collaboration! The camaraderie during rehearsals and the Tik Toks they did together reflect how good they got along.

I feel like it’s been so long since we had big pop names collab in a way that hits this good! I had also forgotten how damn smooth Usher sounds…the layers of subtle harmonies between him and Jungkook are so gorgeous.

I loved this collab so much! It looks like they genuinely had a good time, and you can see the respect they have for the other. 🥰
May I suggest going back to that part where you started to tear up (at your 8:10 mark) because Usher does a move with his necklace that I just love. His voice is so smooth, and when BTS was asked a long time ago in an interview which artists they would like to work with. Jungkook said Justin Timberlake and Usher. He visualized this!! I think Usher adds such a great dimension to this song and the video, and I feel like he shared space with JK and amplified him while bringing his own flavor.

Jimin's number one artist in K-Pop that he emulated and wanted to work with is Taeyang from BigBang, who has a beautiful voice, and this live version is my personal favorite. Enjoy!

It takes me back! Usher is still the charismatic performer he's always been! And I look at him supporting JK in their nod to another great performer! It certainly made me emotional. JK is so darn humble about the success of this album! He looked up to Usher all during his early days. Draws you to him even more! I understand Usher fit this in during his residency in L.V. I love JK’s collaboration with Usher and JT than his other collabs but I grew up with *NSYNC and Usher.

I love the symbolism J K did with the bowing of the microphone as to pay further respects to MJ. One thing with BTS and Stray Kids as well as a great deal of other KPOP idols they are very gracious with other artist they work with on colabs or performances. I'm sure they used BTS choreographers, too. I I would also love to hear a Bruno Mars remix and a Weekend remix of this.
Jungkook, when he started doing solo, (he always did solo covers) he did a song with Charlie Puth. It was Charlie's song featuring Jungkook but JK was in most of the video.... It's called "Left and Right". Oh, Jungkook's hair? It's for military service... they left last week. So you're asking for different music to react to... I've been watching a group: (Blackmore's Night - The Circle (A Knight in York, 2012) 133K subscribers) that you might try... they mostly do Ren Faire music, oh, I'm old but... anyway, 'The Circle' is a great New Year's song. And they are a really good band. Happy Holidays.
I really feel like this video and especially the end was almost a passing of the torch to the next King of Pop, much like Michael Jackson did to Usher. I absolutely teared up at the end.

As of todays generation BTS is the phenomenal and superstar boy group because of their exemplenary ,unique and one of a kind talent each one of them has. Especially Jungkook who is born to have an amazing voice quality and stage presence of his is so sweet and very captivating to everyones eyes. I Filipino army admire artist with great vocal and give us full outstanding performance through their dancing and vocals. I myself also a big fan of your group before Sir Nathan cause of your vocal and good choice of songs you have. I even sing your songs in videoke.
They did have some banter in there too. JK: Standing next to you. Usher: I'm standing right here. Then JK taps him to go to the other side and as he moves Usher says "I'm not going anywhere". lol. It was a really nice collab where Usher brought something different to the table and no one tried to outshine the other in my opinion. I think that BTS, when they collab with those they look up to especially, they don't seem to mind giving them a bit more spotlight as a way to honor them.
The bell bottoms add a lot more movement. Not a huge fan of Usher, enjoyed him here. Not sure why, I have trouble understanding his voice sometimes. I have hearing issues too (not hearing things well, unless it's sharp) , so I am sure that plays apart. I can listen and watch JK 24/7. 63 here and never was big fan of any soloist....other than MJ. BTS brought me back to life with their music! A good collaboration.
Nathan I just want to say thank you for these videos. I really enjoy your perspective and insight. I'd love to see you do some of their older songs too like Danger, Fire, Pied Piper, Dimple etc. I hope you're having fun fall down the rabbit hole with us!

Both artists here shined in their own ways. JK being a huge fan of Ushers, since he was younger, of course definitely let Usher be....Usher...with all respect. Alot of haters were out there sayin' JK couldn't dance as well as Usher blah blah blah.....as usual someone always stirring the pot. JK paid homage to his faves and that is monumental. I think these two have future collaboration together...they blend SO frickin' well together.

I am sure Nathan recorded this before Jimin's the new song came out. Closer With You is so sweet, and made for ARMY as a gift from Jimin to us. He did not make it for commercial success, but to give us, his fellow mates, and I think even for himself, positive thoughts. Chapter 3 is coming. Let's keep streaming Jimin's song on multi platforms, show the world why these guys are different. Jimin, and company, were thinking about us not dollar signs.
