Showing her how to vlog to make money is not showing her that you want her you you want her to be important in your life. Agreed. I've never heard him sound so arrogant before. But he is a village boy as he says. His ideals of marriage may be misconstrued compared to elsewhere. Regardless, he did help Trudy get a step up in life. But for many cultures, wives are regarded as servants for men. Perhaps it's an unfortunate side of Africa. But Miss Trudy is very smart. The wheels in her head are churning and she's internalizing and comprehending everything. But she's a good wife. And staying silent. I on the other hand could not, and therefore am happily single. Relationships are about sacrifice and compromise. Perhaps I'm selfish in that regard. Either way, I'm self-sufficient and need no man. Imo, Miss Trudy could easily marry someone worth 10 times what Wode Maya is.

As a woman & a mother, I can attest that mothers who stay home & raise their children produce healthier intellectual children than mothers who work outside of the home. Hence, if a man requires a woman to neglect her children to chase money that man will probably never be a good husband or father. Essentially, I think men should give women the option to be a caregiver or a working class woman, if and only if she has children or plan to have children with her husband.

Saying that he does not want to spend his money on a woman is very triggering....He emphasizes this too much. When a man loves and values a woman and even chooses her as a wife his soul purpose is to PROVIDE. for & PROTECT her. ....At thus stage of your relationship he should not be saying this....Trudy is the prize and he should be proud to say he worked hard for her.
Honestly, he sounds like he is doing you a favor....He says strange things like, He did not marry you because he was head over heels in love but because you were good with money and progressive. When the Powells interviewed him he said this.

Wode Maya - You are absolutely on point. However as a man I have to concede most of us especially us Africans we tend to want to weaponize money and resources as a way to control a woman. So you have to have a lot of confidence and trust in your woman to really empower her to be independent. Men get scared that when a woman does not need your financial help then she may do as she pleases to your detriment but without trust a relationship cannot thrive. I say your approach is great and if your woman was to abuse it then just move on. Otherwise, hey like you, I would rather she brings in some money herself rather than asking for money for everything.

This is the age of information so stop the cap.

    • @berthekabwe871
      @berthekabwe871 หลายเดือนก่อน

You only see things on a surface level and do not understand the complexity of African culture fully. You are looking from an American lens. First of all, African women cannot be the only "breadwinners". If you see an African woman working in the markets, selling things or running a business, please understand that an African man is also working!!! In Africa, there are certain jobs or businesses that are ran by women NOT men. Infact, any domestic type of business are reserved for women. Hence, if you go to any market, majority of people selling things are women. Any types of business that is NOT domestic related is ran by men. You will never see an African woman selling metals or wood. Moreso, majority of companies prefer to hire men over women. In most African families, the parents will prioritize their sons over daughters to get an education. No matter the background of the family, rich or poor, the parents will always work hard to insure their sons are educated or employed over their daughters, it's the reason African men tend to be more educated than African women, because African women are NOT given the same opportunities as men. In an African setting, an uneducated African man is worthless and brings no value to society, hence the reason an educated and well to do African woman would NEVER marry such man. Finally, the reason an introduction takes place before marriage, is because the woman parents wants to ensure the man will be able to take care of his family financially before giving their blessings. No African man can just sit at home and do nothing. Such man will be stripped of his dignity, respect, insulted and ridiculed by family and friends. I know this because I have seen it happen in my own family.

    Yeah I agree too
I get where your coming from
    If people are upset
Maybe it was how it was presented and how it was said
Its good for men to empower their woman but each to their own
    Whatever works
There's no rule book to life
    We are all experiencing
So we all just have to find whatever works for us
    Marriage is a partnership
Its good for both to uplift one another
My beloved aunt was lucky to marry her husband that did very well for himself and he provided for her but didn't empower her to do for herself
Well she felt it when he past away and it was very hard on her
Some men (not all) can use their wealth as a form of control to oppress
While other men that constantly provide
It can put stress and strain on some men which can also put stress and strain on the relationship because relationship is a partnership
So what effect one will effect the other
I feel it good to empower each other to support one another
Just in case because we never knows what might happen
Reasons why love is important because if the wealth disappear
Will the love still be there? 🤨

Having a partner to share love and the responsibilities with is icing on the cake for those who desire marriage. Anything can happen to the husband or wife like sudden illness that stop him/her from working so women should absolutely be empowered!

I had to rewind it because I did not believe what I was hearing. My goodness, the woman was mourning her mother. She looked frazzled at her own wedding. She was sad. What kind of person would do such a thing? I don’t know Wode. I should not judge someone I don’t know; but the things he says to her are almost like he wants her to have a low self esteem. Like he is always putting her in her place in a passive aggressive way. Making her grovel. I remember Trudy before marriage. She was so pretty, bright and vibrant. She has lost the spark in her eyes. Why does a man make money if only to keep it to himself. That was not God’s purpose for manhood. He was created to be a Provider to a wife and their children together while the wife was responsible for creating a safe, clean, comfortable home ensuring the family receives its nutrition through several daily meals and the children have the physical support they need to develop into smart, confident humans through taking their children to after school activities, helping them with homework etc. A woman’s role is enough work without adding a full-time job to the mix. What I appreciate most about Wode Maya is that he is Open and he speaks his truth. A mature Lady can live very happily with him, since she knows his next move and she can plan for her life too! There are not bad surprised. That‘s what matters most!
Most men just do not tell the open truth, and some actually use secrecy as a weapon. Thank you Wode Maya, much appreciation from Uganda! Uganda 🇺🇬
