Dude, you have... not quite singlehandedly because your players of course hold a great deal of credit too, but large you, have multiplehandedly made one of my favorite TTRPG serieses around. No joke, I enjoy these session logs as much as Critical Role, High Rollers, Dimension 20 etc, and they're a fraction of the length. The insight and slow burn of Demi's nature, past, and now looming fate, the connection of Rankle's kin, the politics of Marius and Aurelius, and the drama added to Diyanah is a masterclass of good games mastering and player work!
I agree. This format has made it way more enjoyable for me to watch. Sometimes I don't feel like sitting through all the sort of in-between bits and this format cuts out the pacing issues live stuff can have while still covering the slower parts of the story. I do really look forward to these episodes.
Demi's backstory was cool to hear. My girlfriend is planning an android character for my upcoming Kingmaker campaign and hearing Demi's backstory gave her some more ideas and general inspiration on what her own character's backstory could be like. She hasn't seen the other episodes, I was just watching this while she was in the room, but she became very invested.
@@TheMythkeeper 7225 ? Oh, I never heard of it. Is that how they measure time in distant, unknown lands far, far away ? Perhaps somewhere in the east ?
Please tell the Maruis player he is my favorite. Love the character. Also, you really make me want to run this AP a second time and change more. I am inspired to make major changes in Runelords and have it be OK
I also really want to run Runelords again with some more significant changes - especially if I can keep the same group going for all 3 runelord APs and figure out how to make the whole thing 1 continuous mega-epic.
Love the inclusion of the PC backstories and the way you structured the meeting between the party and Martella (and then later the Grand Princess). Plus weaving in the Pathfinder Society venture-captain. 🙂
I tend to do this thing when my group approaches the city, which is basically that I research the city and try to find any noteworthy NPCs that could be a worthy inclusion. That's how the local Venture Captain ended up at the party. Its also cool that my players will happily interact with any characters that crop up, even if not directly involved in the main plot of the story.
I’ve really enjoyed this series since the start but never more so than with this episode. I don’t know what’s to come yet but I do know everything that’s happened already and my favorite moment of the series happened here. I literally hooted and hollered when Diyanah suggested Marius be knighted. That moment was everything!
An incredible start to 2025 with another amazing episode. Please, Keep them coming! I enjoy watching actual plays but they tend to be long and slow, This is so much more digestable and is done with such amazing storytelling, I love every episode! :D
This has been so good. I have enjoyed the characters. I find the 'behind the camers' outro very helpful. Hearing your thoughts, definitely wet the apatite for the next episode.
Just want to say I really enjoy these, and your channel in general. The format is so much better than most actual plays and really gives you a look at the campaign module while also telling a truly riveting story using that framework. Thanks for all the work you do, MythKeeper. Hope you have a wonderful year ahead!
I can't really tell if Marius feels bad about the guy dying and giving the swam the go-ahead, or if he actually just feels back because it might hurt their plans if he dies after telling people it was bloodless. Keeping the truth from away from their sort-of boss about dear uncle's involvement might seem like a good idea, but I only see it going poorly. It will be dramatic for sure when it gets found out.
My read based on my players performance here was that Marius is generally unsure about himself, which is a cool trait for him to have and one that most players I have in my games don't always show. Most people play their characters as possessing a certain kind of confidence in their choices, even when they're wrong.
Does anyone know by chance know, if there are any plans from Paizo to update this AP, similar to the Kingmaker AP? Cause so far, I really like this Story, and would like to try my own hand at it at some point, but it seems difficult to find a Copy in german.
@@derskalde4973 I haven’t seen anything official in terms of what APs are getting the remaster treatment but if I had to guess it would probably be Wrath of the Righteous (because of the video game) and Rise of the Runelords (because it was the first ever AP) before anything like Crown would get updated. 🧐
