Modern's strengths are definitely on display here. It's not really debatable that ryu is probably a better character because of things like OD fireball into super working like it used to with minimal interaction, and the reactions with level 3 are making him more terrifying because people aren't respecting the fact that you have this option, because who else is doing that? I really do think because you have instant fireball without movement its hard to pin him down, on top of having instant dp. It kind of reminds me of Chel from Rising Thunder. It's really interesting to think about.
I think ryu's game plan is easier to execute by a little bit compared to luke's. Especially some of luke's combos are somewhat inconsistent because of the requirement of perfects.
Hi from Dominican Republic Nephew, I wish to become in a master but is difficult to beat to the different platinum, how can I get better, I use DJ, Luke, Ken Ryu and Zangief
@@xxiii262you act like everyone that plays modern only uses one button supers. You do realize we actually use the input ver to maximize damage in certain combos right? 💀
@@Itslewcario You say this as if it changes what he said. Thats like me bragging that I still use a combat knife sometimes when I have a gun in my back pocket. Thats not the same as someone who ONLY has the knife. You still have one button specials and supers which is way more of a gamechanger. If youre getting rushed down you have that tool and it makes a huge difference. Just because you might use the full input once in a while doesnt change that
@@Arcadia6227 nobody said it wasn’t a gamechanger. That’s the only thing modern has. I’m a hybrid player I know the ins and outs of both scenarios. I mean I am new to fighting games in general and can promise you I wouldn't be playing if not for modern. I do understand why some of the veteran FGC doesn't like it bc they worked hard to get to where they are now BUT 99.9% of the world myself included just doesnt want to XD. I think it's awesome they're allowing me a way to play and enjoy fighting games. Also a side note to this is now that i've grown to enjoy the game im actually slowly learning to play on classic controls just for the fun of it. I def do not speak for the FGC but I appreciate the ability to experience the game in a way that isnt so brutal against very seasoned players. Just my 2 cents..
Second that ik how to do classic input but modern controls remind of games like Dragon ball fighterz where I don’t usually have 6 buttons so it better for me to play with. But I’m enjoying the game and the control scheme
Yeah modern is good. It doesn't bridge the gap between new and experienced players, new players will still get obliterated. But makes it easier for them to not drop the game.
i don't play modern but i'm glad it's there. i'm almost 40 years old, have a bad shoulder that limits my playing time and will probably need to play it out of necessity soon. it's a good thing to have imo. as a kimberly player i also find i can use elbow drop more often to bait out DPs for modern players because it's an easy reaction for them so i appreciate the 3k damage and can setup 🥴
Modern Ryu IS decent I've tried it but like in every Street Fighter his rival in this case Modern Ken is not far behind if not slightly ahead along with Modern Luke who even has a role of Coach so the story continues. Granted Nephew's Showcase of Modern controls is exceptionally clean. Alright maybe Modern Ryu IS better than Modern Ken and I just am not aware of it after finishing watching that.
Jump heavy, standing heavy, drive rush cancel, down heavy, heavy hashogeki, raw drive rush, into down heavy, medium hashogeki, shoryuken, level 3 super. This is only good for corner.
Only noobs argue that modern is a handicap, they don't understand that in fighting games EVERY FRAME MATTERS, 1 frame dp is just a macro on crack cuz in older games even with macros u won't get 1 frame dp... ppl used to say macros = cheater but now its ok to do a 1 frame ultimate smh 20% dmg reduction is negligible when u can have sudo god like reflexes having all ur motion inputs come out in 1 frame, when it takes 1 frame per input for a player on classic controls... to put things in perspective a fire ball is on avg 3-4frames to input (thats if u have perfect execution) in a game where EVERY FRAME MATTERS, being able to do the same input in 1 frame is an unfair advantage
modern ken said i'm absolutely not using my block button on wakeup
Bro said its a fighting game not a blocking game

That Ken literally felt like a person who got to diamond by mashing and luck.

Modern Ryu is close to unbeatable if you mastered it. I only use Modern Ryu.

As a classic player, I see in you the same struggles that I have while playing modern. That makes me feel less like shit.

Makes sense that one of the classic street fighter poster boys would be one of the better modern characters.
Yeah basic moveset along with modern will wield results

You have to do it manually. Quarter circle back + any attack button.
