I like the idea that swarm lords are really important tactical assets since the hive mind at large is so busy with their untold wars in other galaxies that it's just not possible for it to focus on individual battles
How I understand it, every hive tyrant is unique, semi-autonomous and respawns, the Swarmlord is only named because he’s particularly smart and has a unique weapon choice.

Without characters its hard to make lore about the tyranids but we can still learn about them from other races encounters, like the ork clan that releases tyranid spores and beasts on planets for years to come back when they have expanded and hunt them, I hope we can get a book of short horror stories of encounters with them
Absolutely love 2003 Clone Wars. Still one of my favorite series for Star Wars. Great video as always. The First Tyrannic War is interesting since it was the smack in the face the Ultramarines needed that they needed to start thinking for themselves more and make changes to Codex Astartes, despite most of the chapter disagreeing initially with making changes

My first 40K box was the 4th Edition Battle for Macragge starter set. It’s such a treat to see this period of lore getting so much love in the fandom lately. To be honest the one really good thing about the 2008 show was the way the characterized the clones, and I mean that that was a genuinely good aspect of it and now I would say the show overall was mostly it mixed bag. And it had a lot of missed opportunity and under utilized concepts, like Darth maul being alive after he got cut in half made no sense, but if the night sisters going and recovered his body and capturing his sith ghost and reviving him through necromancy by sacrificing some of their people to bring them back, that would have been a lot better. . . . But as somebody who has been learning how to write for the last 5 years, I can tell when they either didn't give a shit about a character or were annoyed that they had to include them based off of the way they did things. And I wish I had an example to point too off the top of my head but I don't, and saying when you learn how to do something yourself from scratch it changes your perspective on a given skill or general topic, Isn't really a satisfying or conclusive argument but man I'm telling you it's there it's pretty easy to pick out if you know what to look for.

I hope if you cover more of the Tyranic wars you bring up how a remnant of Behemoth attacked a forge world and a skitarii alpha had the idea of filling the sky with promethium then igniting it with his Dunecrawlers neutron lasers only for this strategy to be stored away and forgotten.
It's an actual 5000iq move, but now I wonder, would it actually burn for a long time? I have a feeling that all this promethium would just explode in seconds and do nothing.

So a pretty effective strategy even if it is just one big explosion for a bit like you described. The actual quote is “set the skies ablaze” so hard to tell if they mean just a big series of explosions, or the sky actually being on literal fire for a while.
I remember the best clone. Saw grevious running down a building while they fled, said fuck it, proceeded to calmly load a rocket launcher and shot grevious while IN AN ELEVATOR.
Ive never forgotten reading about the BFM way back when i first started in late 2000's, and the part of the Northern Fortress. Im more of a Tyranid fan, but you cant help but feel such massive respect for the terminators who held out as long as they could in the last room. Really shows how much of a fucking badass you have to be, to be granted the honor of being a Terminator. Ive loved Terminators ever since.

Watching your videos is always such a blast! The little detail, the comedy simple awesome! The tyrandis are one my favourite parts of 40k. The add so much to the setting the huge monster that don´t care about anything but biomass. Even thought i have to say they are a double edged sword. In Lore the posses such powerfull abilitys like terraforming plantets while they attack them or launching tyrandi micro organism onto the defenders what would be an insta win everytime if we are honest. So GW has to balance there powers, and as we all know GW is very skilled in balancing

I like the concept of them only being "defeated" when the hivemind desides that an attack is wasting more biomass than they would gain. As i said double edged sword for a narative if you make them basically unbeatable, Them showing up is an instant game over what make for unbelievably dark stories. But if the are beatable it makes for stories of great heroism, what works well for the guard.
I love the ultramarines so much. I know others disagree sometimes because they get tired of seeing them and that’s totally warranted, but something about them just being incredibly sound logistical tacticians is so satisfying

this might do you head in here, but the 2003 grievous is probably a better representation of a normal hive tyrant, and the swarmlord is quoted multiple times as such: "the swarmlord is to a hive tyrant what a hive tyrant is to a gaunt". they are absolutely INSANE. oh, and they are both 20 and 25 feet tall respectively, so the fact that they move as fast as they do while being taller then most buildings is honestly just as terrifying as their intelligence lol
