I don't think many people understand exactly how hard it is to move in that kind of clothing n still dance so beautifully
Oishee Khan yes
That y is so beautiful when he dance is amazing
Honestly...
Ikr! It seems so tight and I think if I dance I that I would probably step on the dress, trip, and fell lol
From what I've heard, it's difficult to walk or take long steps while wearing a kimono, also the fabric will warm your body quickly enough to make you sweat. This person just performed a complete dance, they have my respect
?????
His hand movements are so elegant and graceful and perfect are we sure this is an actual human?????
Cai Kiseki much practice an discipline, yes is hard, very hard
Cai Kiseki indeed does he not resemble a fox
+Cai Kiseki Not only his hand, but the entire body!
I notice the hem of his kimono is always spread out in a fan shape and circle around his feet at every moment.
That's so fantastic! I'm pretty sure it took a ton of effort just to dress that kimono, not mention to the part of making it.
And you don't see a lot of those masks around. They are really hard to find for me ....especially that ONE!! He is soo fox like as well. this would have taken forever to accomplish for someone like me. I honestly want to pet this man and draw him to show how proud I am of him.(this is my version of showing pride please I take no pleasure in sexual ideas so this is all me being happy) P.S. I will not draw him like one of my french gurls
Surprise 😧😧
And then there's me, who can't even open a fan properly....
Me too ><
I am developing a traditional Japanese style group and band and I wanted to learn to do such dancing so I looked it up just to see.
I saw this video first
I immediately realized I am never going to be able to do this. I'm sure that I will throw the fan across the room accidentally or it will somehow burst into flames as I open it . - .
Ha, same
+Nisska Gowrie *highfives*
👋
I tried dancing the other day. It was worse than Hotline Bling.
People for christ sakes...this was not meant to be a trap. Back then in Japanese traditional theatre, women had no role in the creative arts, so the women were played by guess what, MEN. So instead of going and judging this dance or thinking you know what's best, why don't you actually open your history books for a change? Or rather why don't you read the damn description box?
I hate ignorancy, this is a well respected tradition of dance of theatre. This young man is honoring his tradition.
And even if he isn't dancing for that reason, so what? Japan respects cross dressers and are revered as a serious line of fashion and culture. And even if this comment should get criticism, bring it on. It just goes to show you that people out there are not accepting of people of different view points and different cultures, no wonder it pains me to go outdoors and see people who are quick to judge.
At the end of the day, don't look at the person behind that mask. You saw this video for a purpose, as for what I dont know. But if you didn't like it, comment what you didn't like, and if its honestly just because the dancer just so happens to be male instead of female, then you need not leave a comment at all. Go watch something else that deserves your troll/hateful comment.
I for one found this dance to be beautiful, he was graceful and just all around wondrous to behold. The way the song was made this way was riveting because I am used to it sounding differently. Kikunosuke Sawamura keep dancing how YOU want to dance. Embrace you tradition and don't worry about the arrogant comments of "he's just a trap." Your style of dancing is very amazing and I am happy to see Onnagata once more.
Now see I never knew that it also happened in places like london, that I find so incredible, and I give so much respect to the set actors.
But what pisses me off is that some of these comments are set to be hateful of the fact that the dancer is a male, dressed as a woman. I just dont understand why people cannot see the beauty behind the dance, not who the dancer is. What does it matter if it is a male wearing female's clothing?
"Trap" is actually slang, for example in the utaite culture, the term 'ryoseirui' is used on those who can sing both roles. They are called traps because you can not know which sex they are. It for the most part is not an offensive term though it can be used that way.
I also don't like this though, the way people are commenting here. Sex and gender are separate and gender stereotypes do not need to apply to you if you don't want them to.
He might be a male and might even be a boy but he is allowed to dress in kimono if he likes.
Not only this but it is historically accurate, however this rule does not need to be followed unless they find it should be.
+Tenshi Hikari so true man
the word "trap" is bloody offensive
+Tenshi Hikari You will also know that kabuki was founded by a woman and the Japanese chauvinists believed women on stage to be immoral so no matter how you look at it, it is sexist
19 years old guy in 2011, already he dances like a pro. Can't imagine how great he will be in 10 years.
It's time for you to find this reply in your notifications and look at this amazing video again after 6 years.
I hope he's doing well still!
hi a comment from 10 years in the future
yet we still don't know what the heck happened to him
Welcome to the future.
hey
The fan twirl was just mesmerising
Oh, hello
This guy makes fan holding look so swift and easy.
Meanwhile, me at dance class: "For the last time, HOLD YOUR FANS RIGHT!!'
I don't think you understand the pain
:O I love your Italy profile picture!
He's a guy ????
@@luna-mt7sfyep, description says so and also it seems hes an onnagata dancer
Please note only Kabuki traditional dance is done by males. other traditional dances can be done by either male or female. Most traditional dances that aren't kabuki are mostly done by women. After we mustn't forget the Geisha
Stephenie Tsundere San I like your profile picture
but kabuki was start after a woman performing a performance around the village area wearing a guy clothes or so i heard of it
Nur Faradzillah Jousin it was started by a woman.
扇子が滑らかですし、形がとっても綺麗で美しい舞に魅了されてしまいました!
[BadApple!!]
the way he spins the fan... 😍😍 it's soooo complicated..
Is a HE?!! :O
Yep...
(His name is Kikunosuke Sawamura.(This dance style is "Onnagata")
Onnagata is male actor who plays female roles in a classical Japanese dance-drama Kabuki or performances for the masses.)
Masters make complicated difficult things look easy.
LOL everyone's freaking out about how the dancer is the guy...you guys know that the singer is also a guy right? XD
***** Yep. His name is Kyounosuke.
No way..

Omg no way.
Closet Fish homophobe
When a man is more graceful then you..
I know... failure as a woman 😂
Nope, why? just clean the dishes n the clothes bitch
Wubblu She's female too,for your acknowledgement. No thanks!
lmfao don't get butt hurt it's the fucking internet
idk why but it reminded me of how one of my band instructors said grace is not a natural talent you actually need a lot of muscle and control to be graceful
これを表すには一言で充分。

Came for bad apple, stayed for the dance and traditionality
The bar for "Majestic As Fuck" has been drastically raised.
My eyes were glued to the screen the entire time. Really, this whole video is ..utterly captivating. 0_0
If someone sticks me in a kimono and make me dance to Kabuki acts. I would literally look like sea anemones with sushi sauce waving in tidal rush. One word: Ridiculous.
PurpleGummyBear That was the best metaphor ever.
That is a simile, not a metaphor.
Ivan Sophie what is the difference I don't get it
Ivan Sophie Shhh that's what I meant
Actually the metaphor is where you describe someone or something with artistic words. The simile is a comparison between two things. (Sorry for this English if something is wrong, I speak Spanish)
よっ!枕屋ーー!!!

I’m not shocked about how the dancer is a male performing as a woman. I’m just shocked about how the beautiful singer is a male! I think I’m in love now🥺
Im amazed about how tf can someone open a fcking fan
すごい…綺麗だし
扇子の回し方とかとても好き
In my next life I want to be a Japanese male
hehe ;)
***** What's so funny?
nothing its just i admire your positivity =)
Thank you :3
Haha I laughed so hard XD
Nvmind don't tell me anything.
美しいって言葉がぴったりだと思いました…
美しいです♪
扇裁きが凄すぎて、全然どうなってるかわかんないw
It is the first time that I see a traditional Japanese dance, and... I don't know how to explain it... it is so beautiful, so full of grace.... I don't know how to translate those emotions that I'm feeling right now....
Amazing.............. the dance....the song.....the music...the dancer......everything......
I don't care if its a man just teach me how to do it lol, LOVE IT!!
Even guys can have some grace about them if they try >w
he is japanese , so japanese guy and girl have this in their blood ! :3
You have a point, hmmm gotta find myself a Japanese boyfriend then rofl xD
and me a girlfriend , japanese or not ! x')
Archangel Zephyrus I love you.
This is cringey. Japanese people are normal human beings. Him beung graceful was through years of practice not because he is Japanese. Saying its in his genes nullifies his years of practice and hard work. Plus, you guys are fetishizing Japanese people stop that.
扇子の動きが幻想的でうっとりする
とても綺麗ですよね‼️
扇子さばきが可憐で…綺麗…滑らか!!語彙力が低い(笑)
I don't care whether the performer is male or female..and I surprised its male 🤩but this is the best performance ever I have seen... so elegant moves.. enjoyed watching it ☺
I may sound rude but I keep looking at his feet thinking that he would trip or fall >~
+Lisanna Nguyen I was thinking the same for the first part of the song xD If I were using a kimono like that I would trip at the first step :v
+Lisanna Nguyen
You mean she. Right?
+Rain Senju He. It's in the description. The dancer is a he.
*****
:0 dafuq
+Rain Senju lol, it's tradition. It has been like that for hundreds of years 😂
今更聞き直してみたら

そこまでリスペクトしてくれるのか・・・!
Wow. Did not think this video was still around after all these years.
Well, amazing performance as always. Enka is such a beautiful art. Sawamura's performance has always been captivating for this one due to his young age at the time, but it truly shows the hard work, and respect he put into it.
I stopped the video right when the vocals started and.....HOLY CRAP! You are an amazing dancer. Your moves are so graceful and the fan really complemented the dance very nicely. Good job! :3
i forgot when i first saw this but it’s still one of the most beautiful performances i’ve send to date like- THEY LOOK SO SMALL BUT THEYRE SO TALENTED AND THEY MEMORIZED SUCH A LONG DANCE LIKE HOW
I adore this so much! He is in such control of his entire body and uses every part of it to tell the story! I love even the pauses where he will subtly tilt his head or move a hand, it adds a sort of tension because I am so used to dances where the dancers just has to be moving and doing crazy moved the entire time.
that was hypnotic??? like i physically couldn’t take my eyes off of him???
i was honestly given a surprise that the dancer was a boy but this is so cool!!! i love it omfg
That was amazing you can feel that autenthic japanese atmoshpere and the dancer is really talented! :D
Instead of saying talented you can say it's hard work !! I'm sure he have work really hard let's not brush it of with talent
扇子めちゃくちゃきれい
I remember doing this dance in front of my classes on culture celebration day in middle school like a fucking weeb.
小学生の時、日本舞踊してて、見ていて懐かしく思い、涙が出てきました。
素敵な動画をありがとうございます。
Such a beautiful dance, so much grace and the music is captivating.
All in all Japan and Japanese people are to be admired!
I wish I could learn this dance :(
I found it a few years ago and it's still so beautiful
This just lovely. I love Japanese culture so much.
古き良きニコニコだ、
懐かしいあの頃に戻りたい。
I love how the dancer’s movements are so fluid and graceful, at some point I’d love to learn traditional Japanese dance.
I swear, I’ve never been so mesmerized to someone dancing before- this is so beautiful! I really loved seeing it!
Watching this is a damn experience. It's surreal old meets new to create something beautiful... a piece of modern day fandom pop-culture in a traditional style... I love it. I wish I could dance like him.
なんよこれ、扇子むっちゃかっこいいやん!!踊りすげぇ
This...is...so...FREAKING AWESOME!!!! How is he not tripping on that kimono!!?? And those moves!!! SO GRACEFUL!!!! CAN'T STOP WATCHING!!!!!!!
way back even before the Edo Period the Geisha were men.... what amazes me is how he hasnt tripped over his kimono once!
Words can't express my love for japanese dances
Very beautiful dancing! I love this.
Yu
The fact that he's a man makes me find this way more beautiful.
When dance is a symbol of sex, as it's in the West, it's performed exclusively by women.
When dance is art and culture of a nation, it's performed by men and women alike.
Never would I imagine a bullet hell game would be danced and played with traditional instruments. In such a graceful and beautiful manner. This is EPIC
Wow!!! This is beautiful!!
美しゅうございます
Japanese tradition: strive for perfection
he's like nadeshiko/nagehiko c8
Yo if I had to dance wearing that kimono, I would have fallen like several times. What a beautiful dance!
お年寄りの日舞発表会くらいしか見る機会が無かったので、こんなに日舞が美しいことに感動しました。
始めから最後までずっときれいで、うっとりしました。
ありがとうございます。
What a flawless akomeogi moves...
これぞ和って感じ!!!!
雅だね〜((
i love how he uses the fan and the way it moves, it feels like im getting sucked into it
how gracefull, how beautiful ! *-*
Its a guy real true plot twist
I dont know whether I'm more shocked from how BEAUTIFUL bad apple sounds or from how he moves so gracefully without stumbling once
it's very insteresting the diversity of traditional dances in japan, i like it so much
The fan twirl and handling is everything
I still think this is a gem after all these years ❤
I fucking love that even the lyrics become traditional
the dance is mesmerizing . i can't take my eyes off because i don't wanna miss anything lol
The rendition of the Touhou Project melody in the traditional style is gorgeous in itself but the dance is also brilliant! And both of them altogether are a masterpiece! Thanks TH-cam that I can get acquainted with the achievements of various cultures all over the world!
11 anos e ainda não vi ninguém superar essa performance do Sawamura. Simplesmente perfeito!
I can’t take my eyes off of him, such graceful movement.
This was absolutely beautiful and a spectacular sight to behold.
i was very impressed by how this man can change his voice into a girl and can dance beautifully. he has my respect.
im suprised with how many dislikes this has! it's awesome!!!!!!! it even has lyrics!
Ikr?! :O I swear it is probably because he is a man -.- Bakas... xD
Tears were streaming down my face as I watched this. This is insanely beautiful, the the way they used a modern song in a traditional dance was simply brilliant. The dancer is extremely talented as well.
This makes me want to learn traditional dance, ahahaha :D
Wonderful. This is so beautiful I can't get over it. Thank you for posting this :)
Me for no absolute reason: "man this would kinda dope if a guy dance to this"
Me after reading the description: "OH HELL YEAH"
Now I can understand why japaneses can maintain so many of their traditional values. They have so much pride in their arts that they can combine them with the weirdest things, and still make it, not just beautiful, but entertaining and enjoyable.
That's awesome! I can't even describe what I feel. I and a friend of mine would like to perform it too. Extra thank you for writing who plays this song in the beginning of the video.
Ammmmmaaaaazziiiiinngggg😭😭💔💔💔💖💖💖💘💘💘❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯I can't stop watching this video
The background music is called bad apple, proposed to be something of falling into darkness, many conspiracies say its a form of beautiful Japanese people dancing and the poor falling into the darkness. As most of the lyrics state ‘ I’ve done all that I can ‘ & ‘ And if I fell, it would all faint to black ‘ that is the end lyric.
I like how they changed the language to bungo/old Japanese in order to match it to the style *.* This version is so good!
that kitsune mask :D

@@dementos7806 Привет брат! Except I'm actually Romanian, my Russian is at the level of a 2 years old because I recently started learning it. I speak fluent English and intermediate Japanese though.
He's so flawless and... There's so many ways to describe how amazing he is. Truly talented.
WOW AMAZING!!!!
The way that fan work is, it's just... DANG I'm gonna hafta work REAL hard to get good like him. (beautiful dance by the way!)
How is it 2019 and in still obsessed with the fan moves
Same here I still wanna see more of this dance tho! Do you know where to find him?
@@zoneo2313 I've searched him everywhere, he even appeared in the news, but couldn't find any social media

とてもきれいいですねええ
They captured the spirit of the Kitsune beautifully.
ok i was thinking ''she must be a pro" and i played this like 5 time then i seen that HE was a 19 year old boy o - o
IK!
Anyone else think the way he worked with the fan made it look like a falling leaf? Very gorgeous!
Woah
The dance movements are so smooth and elegant
とてもきれいに、感謝する分かち合います。
DANGIT Sawamara................ I can't even properly hold a fan....... T_T
Sawamura*
*me touches a fan* .... *it bursts into thousand and one pieces*
At the end (4:39) He was moving the fan so fast-- yet swiftly-- the video lagged XD
This was beautiful.
Don’t understand the words but it’s still a beautiful song. The dancer flows like a waterfall. Graceful yet with power.
No matter how manny times I see this it’s still as beautiful as the last.
I have been mesmerized from the beginning until the end. He s incredible, wonderful, that s one of the best dance i ve never seen O.O Well done, lovely kitsune dancer :)
The wrist movements...I just can't wrap my head around them. I really like East Asian dances and the way they play with the movement of the wrists.
