    Nice and meaningful story!!
The Zen master is Right, everything inside is peaceful, full of serenity and bliss..
A real master cannot escape or run INSIDE.. He is continously Inside, he totally in his center, without any disturbance..
Whatever happens outside, is happening to the Body, but he is far beyond the body and his attachment.. He is Free!!
    Blessings and love

" “I know fear is natural! But don’t get caught by it. Leave it aside. Move in spite of it. Always remember: the difference between a courageous man and a coward is not that the courageous man has no fear and the coward has fear - no. That is not the difference. Both have fear! in the same proportion. Then where is the difference? The difference is that the courageous man goes in spite of the fear, and the coward stops because of the fear. Both have fears!
“If you can find a courageous man who has no fear, then how will you call him courageous? He will be a machine, not a man. Only machines don’t have fear. But you don’t call machines courageous. How can you call a machine courageous? Courage simply means that something is happening in spite of the fear. The fear is there, the trembling is there, but it is not stopping you, you are not being blocked by it. You use it as a stepping-stone. Shaking, trembling, but still you go into the unknown.
“Both possibilities exist in every human being! Fear and courage. All will depend on which you choose between the two. Never choose fear. It cripples. It paralyzes. It destroys you without giving you a chance of resurrection. Courage will also destroy you, but that destruction is very creative - it will give you rebirth.
“Fear and courage, both destroy - but fear simply destroys. The seed simply goes rotten. When you sow the seed of courage in the soil, then too it dies - but it doesn’t go rotten. It dies…it dies into a new phenomenon. A sprout comes up.
“Courage will kill you as much as fear, but fear will simply kill you without giving you a new life. Courage will give you a new life. Choose courage - always choose courage.”

Don't seek outside for comfort, always pray to God by keep connecting for him through prayers. We can not win the fear, anxiety, sorrow and challenges by ourselves, God is always there in our life to save, protect and comfort us when everything is about to an end. You know why we frequently getting feared because we mostly think we can do it and someone can do it, we forgot to ask help from Almighty God who has supreme power to control everything nor we believed him. Faith, believe and stay connected to God are the key to overcome fear.

I often use the example of a tortoise and its shell, which relates to this story about fear, when a tortoise comes across a threat such as a lion, it doesn't try to run but simply goes into its shell, we can also do that when fear tries to grip us we can also close ourselves off of it, ignore or direct your thoughts to something else that is more positive that has happened before, I have encountered episodes of panic attacks and unexplained fear that would just grip me out of no where, this has helped me in a way to try and manage the triggers of fear before they develop into panic attack.

It’s an important message and makes sense I like this channels videos . I’m taking the story here as symbolic tho because the reality is we live in a physical world ( as well as a spiritual one) and so in a building on the 7th floor during an earthquake the zen master should run for his life like everybody else did as the building collapsing on him was a very real possibility and to simply turn inward is misplaced and silly in this example. For sure turn inward to stay calm but at the same time get the hell out of there lol that’s what fight or flight is for. It’s the same thing with pacifists I believe, if someone is physically attacking you then you absolutely must fight back in self defence not just allow them to beat you to a pulp and say what will be will be. Peace and love yall

I think this story is quite old. The earthquake resistance standards for new buildings stipulated by current Japanese law are very strict, and unless a very large earthquake hits, the building will not collapse. Evacuation drills are held once a year in elementary schools in Japan. Students are instructed to hide under desks or other objects until the earthquake is over if they are inside the building, and to stay away from the building as much as possible if they are outside. The act of leaving the building immediately when a big earthquake hits is the worst thing to do.

    IMPORTANT INSPIRING ONE ADVISE:
"IF YOU FEAR OF DEATH YOU WILL FEAR ALWAYS.
IF YOU DON'T FEAR OF DEATH, DEATH WON'T HARM YOU".
FOR TO BE FEARLESS YOU HAVE TO BE YOURSELF.
OUR ROAD SHOULD BE INSIDE, NOT OUTSIDE.
ACTUALLY WE FEAR TO THE THINGS WHICH NEVER HAPPEN.
