There are two kinds of people in this world- those who have never heard of Layer Cake, and those who absolutely love it. Everything about that movie is pure class- the dialogue, the performances, the camera work, the soundtrack... one of those rare perfect films.

So that answered my question about what happened to the bank crews, also learned the the story author was in the life and that the movie is respected by you guys. Their deliberate use of camera angles lenses and lighting to give a costless Hollywood look puts it up alongside any of the American greats, it's luxurious stuff and now we know authentic too, thanks to you:)

I remember watching this movie over a decade ago, I was on a British gangster film kick (I live in the US) and I came across this movie. It thoroughly subverted every expectation I had going in. And it's definitely my favorite of all the British gangster movies! It's nice to see a reaction like this, because I talk about this movie all the time with my friends.

Sincerest respect to your break down of ‘classic’ films of genre and the application of your experience and understanding. But he didn’t die when was shot in the end. How do I know that ? The film is based the book ‘Layer Cake- JJ Connelly’, indeed this is a film with Matthew Vaughan’s perspective too. But there is a second book called ‘Viva La Madness’, which follows the tale on a little. 🙏🏼

Claim to fame, I met the girl dancing with Sienna Miller in the club scene, her name is Layla, met her in a place called The Lounge (in Liphook I think), friend of hers used to do the polo horses with my now wife! ;) Had a most pleasant evening. Hadn't been out clubbing for several years and didn't realise you weren't allowed outside the place with a drink... Security stopped me going outside, said I ain't been out for years, he took it to mean I had been in prison for quite a while, stepped aside and let me exit, drink in hand! Just hadn't been out because every where I went I seemed to end up in a ruck with plonkers, being 6.4 and shaven headed everyone wanted to start on the big fella! Funny evening, got free drinks every time I went in there after that. Nice girl, eye catching and smelt so good. Hazy days.
