    "Dee", "Crazy Train", "Goodbye To Romance" all in one song. Next time anyone says it was Ozzy that made Ozzy, listen to this and realize how much influence Randy had on Ozzy's first two albums.

    Many parts of this are familiar to what Randy would use with Ozzy, both in songs as well as his now famous, “spotlight solo.” As a guitarist, and those of you who also play, you can relate to how you come up with little things, licks and such that you like but have yet to place them within a song or as part of a solo. This stuff can stay with you months and years and even then, you can’t come up with a way to use it. That’s what you’re hearing here. It’s like Randy’s ‘scrapbook’ of riffs, song ideas and general guitar solos. What a great view into him and his process. RIP, RANDY RHOADS. MUCH too soon. Glad I saw him with Ozzy in Alpine Valley.

    • @ploppy9943
      @ploppy9943 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wish I could have put it into words as well as you did. I'm 46 and remember ideas that came into my head when I was in my late teens and early 20's that I knew were interesting, and still do, but have never been able to implement into my playing since. You mentioned Alpine Valley. Is that the Alpine Valley in East Troy Wisconsin... I've been there many times. I saw Pearl Jam, Sound Garden, Chili Peppers, Alice in Chains, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Bon Jovi, Skid Row and others I can't remember. I was supposed to be at Stevie Ray Vaughan's last performance but was sick and couldn't go. I'd like to talk to you about your experience seeing Randy live.

    • @cristianconnolly2709

      IDK if he took techniques fromm EVH or not (nothing wrong with that to be honest... everyone takes from others) but eddie and randy (george lynch too) were doing the same clubs in those years 76-78 before either of them went big.

      People always argued me down when I said that I thought Randy was better than Eddie.Randy just seemed to be more in control,polished and accomplished than Eddie.
      Having said that Eddie was more influential than any guitarist to date.Eddie inspired millions to pick up a guitar. In fact, he(Eddie), was the reason I started playing guitar.

    • @davesaenz3732
      @davesaenz3732 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Terrain1017 I picked up guitar because of Tony Iommi," the band that inspired every metal/rock band in the planet, including us" James Hatfield, Metallica. "We played every Black Sabbath song, Into the void was the heaviest song ever made" Van Halen. I love EVH, he has played a big role in my life. But Tony Iommi created a whole new genre of music where countless like RR and EVH were able to shine. But the same can be said of Black Sabbath. Without the Beatles they may not exist. Then we get into the argument of "Who made Who". Noticed before Ozzy, Randy was just playing in the shadows of EVH. But then he just emerges as a guitar wiz and no one can argue he was phenomenal.
