This song should be played on classic rock radio a helluva lot more than just some "deep cut" or "hidden gem". I'm 53 years old and bump this like it came out yesterday. 🎸🎸🎸
bad ass! jimmy page has always been my favorite guitarist since i first heard led zeps rock n roll with a walkman headphone unit in 1981 at the ripe old age of 12 years! it changed the whole pathway of my life, long live rock n roll!
One of my favorite albums of the '90's, solid songs track by track. Although they might not admit it, this was a major comeback album for both of them. Coverdale was ready to walk away from the music biz after grunge and some personal issues. This is no doubt the album that brought Pagey back. It is his best studio work since Zeppelin and a more modern live room sound was refreshing to hear. As much as I love the almighty Zep, that was the 1970's so this bigger, brighter sound captured the energy of the sessions.
I remember when I bought this on cassette when it first came out ,i played it so much I was wearing it out.bought it again years still play it but not enough to wear it out again.
Just found this cassette a week ago, and this song got me jamming so hard. Been stuck in my head for days. Ironically I broke up with my GF last night. So it feels fitting.
About several ten years ago i bought and met this jaket album in this song . Then I thought Its heavy duty image and strong impact from deep soul like hearing. But i like this song.
Best divorce song ever. Totally autobiographical. IT'S OVER NOW You said you'd give me love, Instead you caused me pain. You made me curse an' slam the door, An' hang my head in shame But, it's over now, it's over now. You talked to me of virtue, An' sang a song so sweet But, all I know is I could smell the perfume of deceit. An' it's over now, it's over now. You told me of your innocence, An' I believed it all But, your best friend is your vanity, An' the mirror on the wall. It's over now. I turned away from what I heard, An' everything I saw But, now I see the light of day, I release the dog of war. So what ya gonna do when the truth pays you a call, How you gonna feel, when you finally lose it all, How you gonna look, standing up against the wall, What ya gonna do, what ya gonna say, when you feel the hammer fall, I'm gonna see you crawl. You took your pills an' washed them down, An' then you talked for hours. I tried to build a garden, But, you trampled all the flowers. An' it's over now. Wanting this, needing that, Always after more. Now that it's all over, I release the dog of war, I release the dog of war. So what ya gonna do when the truth pays you a call, How you gonna look, standing up against the wall, What ya gonna do, what ya gonna say, When you feel the hammer fall. What ya gonna do, what ya gonna say, standing up against the wall, So what ya gonna do, what ya gonna say, mamma, when you feel the hammer fall, So what ya gonna do?
This was a great "zep" album....its a shame Plant would not work with Page on this kind of music....anymore. Don't get me wrong...walking into clarksdale was good but you know plant had the brakes on anykind of zep sound like this album was.
the only reason page/plant/unplugged etc happened was because plant didn't want coverdale page to tour the us, that would have been huge. plant is a prick and unfortunately the only thing page cares about anymore is selling reissues. has- been.
This is not a "zep" album. Being a fan of Coverdales for as long as I can remember I can hear just as much of him and his sound on this album as I do Paige and the "zep" sound
Jimmy found a Robert Plant clone with Swave Dave however, there is no replacement for the magic of Page and Plant. However, I would’ve love to hear Plant cover this tune with Jimmy Page!

Awesome track!
i do the same thing bro great album
Im 48... Bought this album in 93.... it is legit as fuck.... good music is timeless.
Hell yeah.54 right now, and on that Page with you. Pun intended.
This entire album should get more time on the radio. In my opinion , it is a hidden gem.
They need to play this so much more.
One of the best underplayed on radio albums ever released. Didn't get the love it deserved.
This was on fm in Dallas TX a lot in 1990s
well i appreciated it when it came out..i bought it & loved it,still do...very underrated
Very underrated LP but the masses did not want Coverdale and Page as proven when they "tried" to tour America
"All I know is I can smell.. the perfume of deceit.. it's over now.."
Touches home.
This song is about Tawny🖤
Tawny is gone
so sad

Love Robert Plant's solo albums too
I remember when I bought this on cassette when it first came out ,i played it so much I was wearing it out.bought it again years still play it but not enough to wear it out again.
steven mandl I still got it LoL
I could not agree more, such a rich song. Every song on this album is good but this is the best one in my opinion

I bought this album when it came out! The pride and joy video hooked me! I still have my almost 30 year old tape still!!!!! Space ace Ron⚡️⚡️⚡️
Coverdale and page. Its never over.
two of the greatest rocker of all time, an incredibly underrated song.
This is a masterpiece and I can't say I have ever heard anything off this album on the radio
I can't listen to this without thinking of some very important people in my life in 92-93! A coming of age thing I guess.
Great song ❤
an overlooked great cd no matter how the critics or robert plant felt about it
Screw that ponce Plant. This was Page being am total musician/songwriter.
i love the whole album
+dabraq I still have the cassette when it came out in 1993 :)
dabraq me too
Amazing song. Been searching for it so long. It never got the appreciation it should have!
This was a great collaboration between these 2 megs-stars, Jimmy's playing is ferocious and David is amazing on vocals!!
You can only take 10 albums with you to a deserted island for the rest of time. This is on my list.
This sounds like a Killing Joke in a Zeppelin style with Coverdale amazing voice song. Great song by the way.
still listen to this.
A stunning combo of two rock greats...OMG I Love the relentless beat
Just found this cassette a week ago, and this song got me jamming so hard. Been stuck in my head for days.
Ironically I broke up with my GF last night. So it feels fitting.
Bought this album first time I heard this song along with Shake my Tree. LOVED IT!!!
Best song on the album !!!
Such a incredibly crunchy groove.
Ugh, there are no words.
Best song on the this Album!!!!
Banging song from a fantastic album!
I was jamming this tune sunday morning at 8. Neighbors launched a brick through my window to hear it better
Haha, yes, I’m sure that was the reason!
Indeed. Removal of obstructions. Definitely a key ingredient in allowing the high frequencies the ability to resonate better.
That and Pride And Joy were my favorite tracks from the album
Epic Album by coverdale page
I saw Whitesnake in Hawaii and Plant and Page in Philly...kicked ass
This song would wake the dead at my house.
Another Epic
had this on cassette back in the day, just about wore out tape
Вместе они как одно целое.
Этот кайф на вечно !!!
RIP Tawny Kitaen 5/8/21
@Алибаба уставший разбойник he wasn’t, he was sad.
@Алибаба уставший разбойник Shame on you! Why and how someone be so cruel!
Best album ever !!
Made me cuss and hang my head in shame!
СУПЕР КОМПОЗИЦИЯ 👍🔥🤘ГОЛОС ДЕВИДА👍 И 🎸ГИТАРА ПЕЙДЖА🔥
Okay who can tell me why this whole album was taken off Spotify? It’s a great album and this song is a good reason why
Jimmy always commands the rock and the mystical
Powerful!
Denny Carmassi
On Drums!
Throughout this album just stands out.
Of course Coverdale & Page make a great combination.
Carmassi is SO GREAT.
Grandma has great pipes.
This album was gold...but its not even on Spotify..wtf

Brilliant yet underrated song, same as the album
About several ten years ago i bought and met this jaket album in this song .
Then I thought Its heavy duty image and strong impact from deep soul like hearing.
But i like this song.
Sometimes because tomorrow I heard when yesterday , song lived inner ready. Then to guitar and playing to that
ALL GOOD, ALL THE TIME!
loved the ups the best music of all time
It’s over now between me and you and Dawn
Excelente
2:29 - 2:52 is my favorite part. "electric dog" is what Page calls that guitar effect or sound.
it's at 3:39
Carmassi is one of the greatest drummers EVER.
Totally killer song! The first time I heard it was at a strip club in Dallas, Texas!😀
Wish you would do one more tour with page
Rocking tune.
what ya gonna do what ya gonna say when ya feel tha hanner fall im gonna see ya crawl......
The Best !!+
A+
Pages odd chord riffs and Cov's sorta Bowie (?) vocals!!!
yes hear alot of Bowie David's voice.
To the guitar experts out there, what is Jimmy using to generate the Dog of War sound at 3:33?
he was running an old b-bender les paul through an early sixties vox wah, and then through the similar marshall amp he used with zeppelin
Digitech Whammy pedal
However... how viseral is the sound!?
Best divorce song ever. Totally autobiographical.
IT'S OVER NOW
You said you'd give me love,

Wanting this, needing that,

Reminds me of Soundgarden.
it's Over Now !!!
sexy damned song drippin with it.
"Kashmir II"
NI EN PEDO, UN MILLON DE VECES MEJOR
Erick Rabello lol
Is exactly what I thought the first time I heard this song because is sooo trippy, damn i love it!
Don’t know why iTunes does not have this song to download!
That definitely could have been a Zeppelin song
This was a great "zep" album....its a shame Plant would not work with Page on this kind of music....anymore. Don't get me wrong...walking into clarksdale was good but you know plant had the brakes on anykind of zep sound like this album was.

Over the past 20 years, I've actually listened to this album more times than any LZ album.

rick chy Check out Walking Into Clarksdale by page and plant
It the perfume of deceit …. It’s over now
Best amp roar Page had. Soldano SLO100
Yeah, badass. I don't think it was his thing with LZ, but here it was great. Page didn't need distortion with his loose style of playing, lol.
how hard!
overnoW

En esta canción David Coverdale explica como fue su relación con Tawny Kitaen
Да уж..... Попортила она ему нервы....
