Hopefully! I think a collection with their 3D fighters (Both Star Gladiator games, both Rival Schools games, Tech Romancer) would be ideal. Not sure how much general appeal it'd have, though.
Rival Schools is a series I've wanted to play ever since I played Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Batsu was pure fun to play as, and honestly with all the comprehensive Capcom fighting collections in recent years, I'm hopeful both games (and the Plasma Sword games) will end up on modern platforms in some fashion. Also, kudos to Kyosuke for getting to be the cover star for Capcom vs SNK 2 in North America xD
Hideaki Itsuno( 0:48 ) now is also the most older employer in Capcom in active works. Breaking even the Record time of Yoshinori Ono. Thanks to him, Capcom taken out great ideas from paper, beyond Rival Schools. Now, he works as Main Producer of Dragon's Dogma 2.
Am I the only one who thinks Batsu's Ultimate All-Stars ending is a reference of Tekken? I mean,he said his dad tried to throw off a mountain, like Kazuya's dad,Heiachi, threw him off a cliff.
Oh man, was I waiting for this, I haven't played Kyosuke, (Because I still don't have CvS2) but my gosh, I love playing Batsu, picked him on a whim for my first arcade mode playthrough and was so glad I did, his presentation, his personality, his voice acting, his little details, everything about him is just cool to me, he genuinely makes me want to play Rival Schools, which is why I'm hoping capcom makes a collection for the series or a capcom 3D fighting collection with stuff like Star Gladiator, (Which would make me a bit more happy considering I have pretty much the same story with Hayato) I'm really hoping that he makes a return to the vs series if it ever comes back, definitely on my main team, and definitely one of the characters I wanted to see you cover the most. I actually had an idea of lumping these two together in a video, but I didn't think you'd actually do it, I'm guessing that any other series that has a situation like this would get the same treatment? Also, is there a reason why you didn't show off Batsu's win quotes?
I always planned on doing these two together, since Rival Schools is a team game and all. There's a few other characters I'll likely do the same for: The Gatchaman trio and the Yatterman duo come to mind. As for the win quotes, it really just came down to logistics, funnily enough. TvC is like CvS2 in that it has specific win quotes for every character, but unlike CvS2, there's no button combo to force a specific winquote type: it's entirely random whether or not you'll see them. Because of that, getting the footage of them was extremely time consuming; this video would've been out last week if I hadn't attempted to record them all, but a week later and only having gotten some of the Capcom side winquotes, I decided it probably wasn't worth the trouble. Doesn't help that a lot of them still sound pretty generic despite being character specific. I'll probably do a separate video regarding TvC's character interactions somewhere down the line.
It’s a shame the whole Capcom side of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom didn’t make it into Marvel vs Capcom 3. Seems weird given they at least had finished animations for seven characters ready to go.
The devs actually talked about this at one point after MvC3's release; They knew about halfway into development of TvC that they'd be doing MvC3, so they deliberately held back characters like Dante and Arthur for that game and opted to get a little more experimental with TvC's roster to differentiate the two games. Still, considering Viewtiful Joe, Frank and Zero were the three last Capcom characters added to TvC, I wouldn't be surprised if they were chosen with the intent of being used for both TvC and MvC3.
The Vs games introduced me to these characters. Batsu’s a favorite of mine in TvC, and Kyosuke in CVS2 was dope. Hope Rival Schools makes a comeback, and I’d also like Shoma in a Vs game.
I have heard of Rival Schools, but never played it. And it was through Sakura that I know about this game. Anyway, another well done character review, especially with the two stars of this underrated fighting game series that involves, hence the name, rival schools. Kinda reminds me of Tenjho Tenge, more or less.
God, I can't help but think about that Roy/Kyosuke team combo from the PS1 evolution disc because of the music playing in the backgroud of the first segment. Most annoying duo you could give the CPUs in that game (except for hideo/kyoko) also, I've preferred the taiyo yard theme over the rooftop theme. idk if thats super unpopular, but great video!
I think those two could also show up on the Arcade Mode disc on that same stage as well if you weren't playing a story team. I remember fighting them a bunch and yeah, CPU Roy in particular is wild, lol. I like all of the Taiyo themes, honestly. Roof's probably my favorite, but the yard and classroom themes are right behind it. I think the game in general has a really strong soundtrack overall.
I love Sakura as a character and she is my favorite Street Fighter character, so I always thought it was pretty awesome when I found out she was a guest character in Rival Schools. I’m honestly happy how much of an impact she’s had on both series, especially since when you think about it, it’s thanks to her that she was pretty much the metaphorical bridge that made Street Fighter and Rival Schools share the same universe.
@@TheSeventhForceThanks! Glad you agree! Also speaking of Sakura, whenever you get to making a video about her, for reading recommendations can you talk about the Sakura Ganbaru manga? It’s a really great manga to read that centers on Sakura as a character that’s actually canon to the SF games.
