One question ... should I buy the SQ1 now or wait and save up to buy the O CTRL?

It depends! I don't have the 0-ctrl, but from what I understand, it's more focused around the touch plates, whereas the SQ-1 is more about switching patterns. I want to get the 0-ctrl myself though and check it out, I'm sure it's great. The "time" section on it has me very intrigued.

would you say the Korg Sq1 is superior to the 0cntrl?

I haven’t gotten a chance to try the 0cntrl yet, but it looks awesome! The SQ1 has different patterns to toggle through which is fun, and I also like the gate duty cycle function. 0cntrl has some really interesting features though so I’m sure you can’t go wrong 👾

I have both, and say sq-1 is better. And it's so much cheaper.

I generally use it with the other two "'0's" and the sq1. Sometimes int eventide space or re-20 delay pedal. Its one of my portable inspiration machine setups. I sit out the back under my veranda with a beer and jam. My neighbours dont really mind as its usually ambient soundscapes. The three machines together are pure magic. Its a great relaxation technique. Highly recommend the beer as an acompaniment. 👍

The SQ 1 is really underrated, love how you can clock it with anything, even audio signal.
