If i didn't know about your videos i'm pretty sure i woud still be using my Strega at 40 % of it's actual possibilities. I was aware of the invitation of being curious and experimental with it, but..... damn ! Thanks for reminding us to explore more.
Very well explained! This really demonstrates the potential of the Strega as a stand-alone instrument, so many well thought out modulation options… I‘ll definitely steal that chorus trick!
it's true, ive been patching it, know what will happen but now i feel i understand why. very well explained, would be great to see more modules explained so clearly. patch demos are great, but they don't give you the understanding this did 😎
@@MatthewShapiroModular well, im not sure what other bits you have, but personally, maths, wogglebug for more make noise and marbles and plaits from mutable instruments are things i dont fully understand. but anything where you perhaps use a bit of the text you where reading from, and connect the functions with that? i read a lot of this stuff and it goes over my head tbh, until i see it connected with something i use.
@@vurttv6415 that totally makes sense. Maybe I’ll do one for Maths in the future! For now, I really recommend this channel- his videos are awesome and he has great Maths instructionals as well as an amazing Wogglebug series. youtube.com/@Hermbot I also made cheat sheets for Maths, Wogglebug, and some other Make Noise gear here you may find helpful. www.matthewmodular.com/resources
Great help here Matt, but i have to ask, where did you learn about these functions? Is there actually a manual that gives explanations rather the "eye of newt, toe of frog" stuff? 🦎🐸💥
Hahaha! Glad this was helpful. There isn't anything super well documented out there, so I took a few weeks to deep dive it and try to figure it out. I also made these cheat sheet guides for quick reference you may dig: www.matthewmodular.com/strega-touchplate-rg www.matthewmodular.com/strega-rg
Ooh good point, I think you may be right on with this. To me it sounded very AMey since the fundamental frequency stayed so in tact, even when I was sweeping the function (5:51). Maybe using the activation touchplate differs from the main activation input in some way. Or maybe not, maybe it's just ringmod all around!
Not your fault... you were quoting. Fundamental and overtone. Not harmonic. That's why it's called the> overtone < series. People constantly misuse the word "harmonic".

Thank you so much, that’s super kind and so cool to hear! I appreciate the support🤘
best touchplates explanation, thanks a lot!
Right on, appreciate that! Thank you 🤘
And on top of all these great uses, the strega has to be one of the best sounding "damp sea cave" reverbs.
Hahaha nicely put🤌

It’s all yours! Hahah. Thanks very much 🤘
My goodness this was the best deep dive I have ever seen on the touchplates ❤
Thanks so much!🤠
that was great! i feel like ive learned more about strega, than i have since ive owned it! thanks!
That’s so sick to hear! Thank you Vurt🤠

@@vurttv6415 thank you so much, stoked to get that feedback. Any suggestions for things I should cover in future videos?

Totally! Thanks for checking it out 🤘
You really went into a pretty good deep dive there with the strega!
Thank you! 👾
Excellent walk-through and unfolding!
Thank you Todd, I appreciate it! 🤠
Thanks for making these videos, you strega stuff very helpful 🎉❤
Right on, stoked to hear that. Thank you!
I just ordered one of these, I didn’t know it was a touch plate!
Nice! Hope you enjoy it🤘👾
Thank you Matthew. I was struggling to understand the relationship and functionality of the touch plates. Thanks for clearing up the mystery.😃👍🏻👍🏻
Stoked to hear this was helpful! That’s awesome to hear. Thanks for checking it out🤘
Thank you for this video, so helpful and illuminating. Strega science !

Stoked it was helpful, thanks! 👾
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you! 🤘
Thanks that helped a lot
Awesome 🤘 Stoked to hear it!
Awesome !
Thank you!👾
I think the vca is bipolar, so you actually get full ring modulation, rather than AM. Could be wrong, open to being corrected.
