On this episode 63, it’s time to leave Usal Beach and make our way out of the trail with the washout area that broke our van.
Please join us and our chihuahuas as we share our van life explorations, and please feel free to leave us comments below. We appreciate any feedback you may have. Thank you again for watching!

Great adventure. The best was the ending sister loving brother. You have beautiful memories of a very special little girl. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks so much! Yes it was tough to watch back at first with videos of our lost pups but now it's the happy memories carrying us through.

We did this trail in summer 2022 in our Revel. Beautiful trail and the views! On our way out we saw a large poop disposal truck climbing the section of road we were on. Since we were heading downhill, we had to back up around 150 yards. Was pretty sketch going in reverse up a twisty narrow road.

That narrow road is definitely not fun with the oncoming traffic! We were lucky and only had a few smaller trucks along the way. Going in the morning was labeled as the "low traffic" times.

Enjoyed these last three videos. Running board bruise should buff right out!
In case you didn't find it -- there is an unpainted bolt just behind the driver's side hood hinge for connecting ground.

We had one of these Ford transit (quadvan 4x4) vans for hiking tour business…. They are nice and roomy inside but they are not reliable vans, nor are they real 4x4’s. We had many many issues before we got rid of it after only 24k miles. Just sharing my experience. The twin turbo eco boost is powerful (only because of the turbos), but really way too small for that big van. The non turbo V8 ford we had with the Quigley conversion had almost no problems.
Look at the clearance you have under your van, and the sway bars that hang so low, you can’t do any real off-roading with that van

That's a great comment and observation from your experience. The Transit Trail is modeled off the lift that STO did on ours, but we are still hoping for a taller lift once the vendors figure out how to properly lift higher than 2 inches. A couple of the vendors out there are already doing that with the Transit Trail AWD. Ford seems very dedicated to making the Transit Trail off-road capable like the Sprinters, but the Sprinters still have a ton of advantages to your point.

@@VanDoghiesthank you. Ours was a 2018, I hope they have gotten better… one thing they haven’t changed, and a major problem for ours was the glued on cowl that separated and let water into engine causing many electrical problems. Others have had same issue. Love the way it drove. Like a car, not a huge van..
just fyi as I’m remembering it…

So far our major issues have been with our Battery system and the heat from the engine melting wires...that disaster will be shown pretty soon in upcoming videos@@user3378e
