    Great review. I bought one of these last year, also from Redband and with the same bundle. Really happy. Wish this review had been out when I got mine.
    Some things to add from my experience:
    I’m a DIYer and I bought the Belle dumper for the same reason as you. I have a Belle mixer and despite almost 10 years of my abuse it just keeps on going. Same story with my 10 year old Honda mower.
    I’ve been using it this summer for a workshop build at the top of my garden. The slope up to it from the drive is a steady 20° and sometimes a bit more. About 70 metres. The dumper *will* take a full hopper of ballast (~250kg I think) up that slope in about a minute or so. I also screwed some 2 x 4 across the flat bed and used the extra width to allow me to load wood, mostly 3m lengths but up to 4m (bit sketchy…), in the direction of travel and carry loads up at a time. Just make sure each side is equally balanced.
    One thing to note is that the dumper is better going up long hills when it’s fully loaded. Although it has the 4 wheel drive option I think it’s still biased to the front so weight over the front axle helps with traction.
    I’ve had one problem- one of the small wheel tyres came off its rim and needs replacement. Note that you should be able to loosen the bolts that hold the cover on and lift up the cover (hopper needs to be raised) to gain access to the small wheel. Mine was stuck on so I didn’t realise this was possible until afterwards. The wheel itself is just sat on the shaft and secured by a star washer- that’s a bugger to remove. Star washer is cheap from Belle. Replacement wheel a bit more.
    Finally- if anyone knows the drill to adjust the brake, let me know as all the up and down the hill means it now needs tightening…
    Thanks again for the review!

    Another informative video. The Altrad Belle BMD 300 Mini Dumped is great. When you work by yourself it's the machine to have . I will see if they have a dealer in the states.
    Thanks

    Excellent review, and the best overview of one of these mini dumpers on TH-cam. Thank you Gruffyd.
    Did you happen to look at the 'Muck Truck' before buying the Altrad Belle? I just wondered if you had any thoughts on the Muck Truck. It looks almost identical to the Belle but doesn't have the lever to engage/disengage 4WD and increase the pressure of the middle wheels on the drive wheels like the Belle... but the Muck Truck can handle 30 degree inclines rather than 20 degree. I don't know which one to look at, but I do know I want one of these things so I don't wear my body out before its time!

      Thank you 😊
      I did look at the muck truck and it was a very close second. I would be quite happy with one.
      The only reason I went for belle is that I have used their kit in the past and their a big company so parts in the future shouldn’t be a problem.

    No tip assist on a 3 grand mini dumper??? LOL. The whole point of these is to help carry heavy loads especially sand, gravel, soil etc. What if you need to dump uphill or need to tip the contents gradually?

    • @gwenyngruffydd
      @gwenyngruffydd  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not aware of one that had a tip assist this small. Is there one on the market?

    • @SimonCoates
      @SimonCoates ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gwenyngruffydd Daleks have a gas strut assist, they were on offer last month for £1,200. Lumag have a number of dumpers with electric or hydraulic dump around the price of the Belle. I'm not saying your machine isn't decent, it is, but the lack of lift assist for some of our uses is an issue.
